This looks amazing all stickered up and the sheer amount of accessories is impressive. Work has been too busy for me to open mine up and appreciate it but I really enjoyed your video. Now, here is hoping we get a Haslab Cobra Rattler or at least a re-issue. Actually, a re-release of the Rattler would be nice to free up the Haslab slot for the Defiant Space Shuttle Complex. With our advances in space now would be the perfect time for it. That would be an amazing Haslab. Count me in.
I don't think I'd personally back that one if they did... I have the original, and it's a cumbersome, space-eating, fragile thing.
Then again, I also said I didn't want to collect 6" GI Joe vehicles and I have a HISS tank on order... LOL!
@@SarlaccDigest That Haslab HISS tank is pretty amazing. Sadly I had to pass on it as cool as it is. I have to let my budget recover from the Robosen Optimus Prime. So much cool stuff. I really believe we are at a golden age of 80s toy collecting. I don't know how much longer it will last with inflation and the cost of everyday needs going up and the economy going downhill like it is but I am going to try to enjoy this ride while it lasts.

I have a couple of nitpicks myself, but at the end of the day I'm pretty dang happy with it.

Great review! I agree with the minor gripes you had, but also agree that it’s just a really cool toy, well worth the money IMO. I also went with the black tail fins, it visually balanced nicely with the darker canopy, and brakes up the monotony of the light grey everywhere. I kind of wish I applied the sticker in the tail fins before clipping it into the jet, but it’s fine. Over all I’m very happy with this.
Little panel comes off to insert the ladder up near the cockpit/side.
Kinda curious what the file bios would have said about the flight crew. Maybe it'll be finally included when the haslab the carrier.
The Decal you said was shipwrecks is actually the Killer Whale hovercraft decal. Hopefully that is a little forshadowing
My front landing gear cover hangs open just a hair while landing gear are retracted. Minor imperfection. I've seen others that hang open more. That's my only thing I could say I'd like to be better. I really like it! I believe when you remove the side panel, revealing the painted inside of the cannon, there's a ridge to put ladder on.
My front landing gear hang open, and my rear landing gear collapse in on themselves with the slightest movement. It kinda sucks there, but I'm keeping it in flight mode, so overall it's not THAT big of a deal.

The detail on this thing is incredible
Careful with that front of canopy removal as well. The tiny tabs on side do bend and are likely prone to stress. FYI. I don't plan on removing it much at all.
I don't know why we got o ring figures. Hasbro just made the highly articulated retro 4 inch figures. Wished they kept making those.

Same , it was just weird to put out an updated skystriker with old-fashioned o-ring figs.
I almost got this haslab but I have two vintage skystrikers on my Flagg and according to other videos this new sky striker is the same size and I thought it was supposed to be bigger BUT the 25th anniversary figures are too big to fit inside it without taking out the front seat.

Slow and steady, my friend... slow and steady.
The fuel pod as you call it is actually a gun pod (gun or guns enclosed in a pod). It pays homage to the pods that were loaded on F-4 Phantoms that didn't have cannons. Why would they include it with a plane that did have a gun? The same reason that the GI Joe AH-1 Cobra gunship stand in has a chain gun in addition to the chin guns. To have more firepower. Look up the GPU-5 gunpod. You'll notice it has a very similar appearance.
I noticed that the landing gear will not stay retracted if you try to roll it with the gear down. Don't like that! So much for doing a rolling take-off. I'm not sure if they did that in order to prevent snapping the landing gear, but it's not how the original was and just feels cheap to me.
Yeah, that REALLY pissed me off. And, when in flight mode, The front landing gear (on mine) hangs out by a quarter inch. It took so long for this thing to come out you’d think the QC issues would have been properly addressed. Hope the Hiss Tank will be better quality

Two questions, are the wings able to dissemble if you want to place the jet back into the nice packaging box? Second question, can this Skystriker allow modern 4" GI Joe figures to fit inside the duo cockpit comfortably?
I don’t think the wings are going ANYWHERE… And I’ll have to double check. My collection is 98% vintage
Wow! Never realized the new non-oring were bigger. Not a collector, showed son the Gijoe cartoon once and now have been buying vintage NIBs for gifts. Anyway, just tried putting the Retro Like Fang pilot in, doesn’t fit.

My buddy and I were calling each other in-between cuts and discussing all the things that were not in the directions. I think I just forgot to mention this little nugget of information. He made a joke though that he wished we would have hit the sales tier that included complete directions. LOL
For what you paid for this sky sticker. The ground crew equipment they didn't even detail very good they're just grey looking. iy be nice if they would had more color then decals.
Hasbro gets a 100 amazing work for me. All the changes they made to the SkyStriker are just Sunbow accurate. I have it displayed and I like it better than the original. However, the figures all except the Cobra Trooper gets an F for me. Specially, ACE, they should have made ACE just like in the cartoons, Scarlett just like in the cartoons and Ramp Rat scrap it or look at the beginning of Gijoe the movie when Pythona breaks in the Terror Drome. There are some cobra mechanics make those!!! Rip Cord I would have loved it if they would have done it in the original colors.
All this Cobra Commander Mickey Mouse, Ramp Rat, Night Force stuff is just to appeal the resellers/scalpers. But in Gijoe there was so much stuff in the cartoons that never made it to toy or it was done wrong.
Really! I love them! But again I’m not a collector. Son and I tore these open and played with them. Ace is how I remember the OG oring being, yeah the Mickey CC is getting old but love them all! Love it!

Hasbro could have made smaller Skystriker.
The cones that fit into the engine's are the after burners.

@@Nacho-db3dc That sucks... the Razor Crest was a fantastic piece, and the Skystriker just isn't at the same level. Makes me wonder how the Hiss Tank will turn out
