If you want to be more specific they call those types "Tailerons" because they also control the roll of the aircraft. The vertical fins are called Vertical Stabilizers and they are responsible for controlling the yaw of the aircraft or the side to side motion of it.

Oh! I see Navy grey and black vertical tail fins. I really really need one right side vertical tail fin for my 25th anniversary Skystriker as I took it to use on my 50th Anniversary Cobra silver and red limited edition convention Sky Striker.
Just opened mine and it is missing one seat. Also the front landing gear does not lock up and just flops around. Even in the down position it collapses under the weight of aircraft. Can you fix problem for me Ted
They should add an F-18 or other high tech jets to GI Joe since this F-14 was famous back in the day. Also they should sell and release smaller Skystrikers.
Looking at my Skystiker I have seen one thing that could be added a handle to peg into the bottom. This would be good for action photos of the Skystriker flying. Cause I find any plane or helicopter from G.I. Joe range with a handle makes it easier for photographer.
I got my Skystriker for Christmas and when I opened it I had a hard time figuring out how to have Ace and Fail Safe in the cockpit at the same time. I watched this video and you told me if the figure doesn't fit well on the seat peg give it a firm press. I did just that, but then the figure wouldn't come off the seat and while trying to separate them the peg broke off effectively ruining my Skystriker Seat and LT Fail Safe 😢💔😭
Hasbro, any talk of more this kind of o-ring? More vehicles? It has always amazed me that you haven't milked this cash cow very much. Now is the time. If you wait longer, we will be much older and our little kids will be all grown up. Please make more! After all, we backed this project. For a start, how about the GI Joe ground crew (last failed unlocked tier). You already did a lot of the work... Seems like it would be a nice next set to sell. Thanks for considering my thoughts.

We had this and the Night Raven back in '86 or '87. The Skystriker was missing the canopy out of the box and I'm still mad about that.

the wings fowards is for slow subsonic speeds and the sweept wing configeration is for the supersonic speed (above Mach 1)

Be careful removing the small front part of canopy. The tiny tabs on each side are prone to stress.
