6:50 appreciate your effort. unfortunately you gyan is from internet and you didn't ask a real urdu-daan. Here is a major blunder by this singer - prithvi- and therefore by you.
It is:- Makaam, Faiz, .... NOT ....Makaam-e-Faiz.
Faiz says to himself that he couldn't find a destination to settle in. A home.
Makaam-e-Faiz means Faiz's home. It turns what Faiz is saying upside down.
You correctly explained in the next sentence. Congratulations.
IMHO- the best rendition is by Runa Laila... superior to her teacher Mehdi Hasan.

Absolutely, Mehdi Hassan sahib is the only singer who can do justice to this ghazal, the others can only attempt and even if they manage to reach 30-40% of that level they should be happy. No offence, the other singers Ali Sethi, Arijit, Hariharan are good in their own fields but ghazal on this levels……sorry, but no match to the King of Ghazal❤️ May Allah bless his soul🤲🏼

It borrows words from Arabic, Persian, Hindhi and Sanskrit in order to make it easy to rhyme and write poetry.
It was specifically designed for literature.
Some say Sanskrit, Persian etc are even more beautiful but I think Urdu is more as its takes the beauty from all those languages and creates a new one.
Par apni apni pasand ki baat hai! 😊

    • @facts2know01
      @facts2know01 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@HYroglifurdu is a mixture of hindi, persian, arabic, sanskrit and turkish
It came into being when people of lot of different ethnicities used to serve together for the Indian army so when all of them communicate with each other ,gradually a new language came into being
Ghulam hamdani muzahfa used the word urdu for the first time for this language
urdu means army in turkish language

i accidentally stumbled upon this video; this is my favorite ghazal of my favorite poet. thank you for trying to make it accessible to a whole new audience. slight addition/context from urdu: the first verse is him wishing for bad-e-nau bahar. early spring wind is what brings color and flowers, so he wishes it would arrive so 'gulshan ka karobar' can commense. also aqibat is not future. aqibat is the hereafter. aqibat sanwarna in urdu means that your hereafter, your eternal life forever is good, almost like achieving nirvana. and in urdu speakers, 'dua' with tears achieves that. hence that line that no matter what torture i bore during shab-e-hijran, my tears of supplication will help your eternal future.
also the last verse, the singers sung it wrong. it is not maqam-E-faiz, it is 'maqam faiz', the 'e' in urdu means 'of'. saying 'maqam e faiz' makes the verse meaningless, i see a lot of non-urdu or hindi speakers do this a lot where they add this 'e' not realizing it changes the meaning. in original urdu text E is often omitted as we write urdu without vowels explicitly, and only say them.

God bless you for doing this! Just a quick note, I do not think that in the last to sentences on "maqaam e faiz.. to su-e-dar", Faiz meant what what you interpreted. I think he was saying that, similar to the other ghazal "mujhse pehli si mohobbat" , he is moving from the place in his life where it was filled with love, to a place of political revolution where the end would likely be being hanged by state.. this is in line with him being in the prison then..

Ek toh Faiz ka poetry apane me itna complex hai. Love for nation and love for a human ke itne parallels me wo baat karte hai (sara pyar ek hi hai at the core, so it seems legit) I liked listening to your explanation of this. But I came to it after having watched Kun Faya Kun and lal ishq, so I feel you have just translated this one as compared to going deeper like those other videos. Matlab muze achcha hi laga ye bhi. Bas kuch comment karna tha kyunki tumse baat karne ka mann hua (is random tareeke se hi sahi) toh kar rahi hu :D

Sandesh Shandilya's Version sung by KK (Krishnakumar Kunnath) is also a good version in terms of melody (beautifully composed) and soothing nature of the creation, they have added some additional lyrics (done by Neelesh Misra) which may have been done to connect it to the scene in the movie..... it sounds amazing, I m not a fan of remaking but I do like it if its done keeping the essence of the original creation intact and if it take it to a whole new level......
I was not that much familiar with the exact meaning of this gazal, after watching this video I know what it exactly means and can now connect to it even better.

Sir , you look so young and I feel very happy to know that even this generation has nurtured interest into this form of poetry. Undoubtedly after Mehdi Hasan sahab, it's Ali Sethi who has rendered this gem so deeply with emotions. One more stanza from this gazal कभी तो सुबह तेरे कुंज ए लब से ही आगाझ needs decoding. Thanks for your lucid decoding.
Incidentally, this was Atal Bihari Vajapayee's favorite Faiz gazal and during his Pak visit as EAM, he made a detour to visit Faiz sahab.
