    Science Uprising
Well-known scientists have been preaching a materialistic worldview rather than presenting the public with all the evidence. We are here to change that. The objective scientific evidence does not prove our universe is blind and purposeless. It does not show we are simply meat machines. It does not prove that evolutionary mechanisms can completely account for the diversity of life on earth. This is what THEY want you to think. Think for yourself and make an informed decision.
Are you ready? The uprising has begun.
Visit the Science Uprising website at scienceuprising.com/ to find more videos and explore related articles and books. You can also find out more information about the people interviewed in this episode.

@Peter A. The Idea of monotheism solves your paradox: The only G-d is eternal, has no beginning and/or end, does not exist in time, but rather time is part of It. Thus it doesn't require "a creator". The Source of everything doesn't need its own "source". But your arguments are very applicable in respect to the hypothesis of live on Earth being created by the extraterrestrials. The latter is indeed an empty shell that explains nothing, but just further shifts the questions.

One of my favorite mathematicians, PhD John Lennox who taught at Oxford University, puts it in many intriguing illustrations how the odds of organic life forming by mere chance is not just an absurdity, but a statistical improbability. Take Carbon for example. Organic life is Carbon based. Heavy Elements are forged in the nuclear heart of the large stars- the ones capable of producing super novas. As they use their hydrogen up in fission processes, they are forced to create heavier and heavier elements in order to maintain nuclear fission and core stability against the immense weight of the immense star's own solar material bearing down on it. Once the core has transitioned up the periodic table from hydrogen to iron, fission is no longer possible. The outward forces creating balance against gravitational effects cease, and a very rapid collapse occurs, compressing the core of iron the size of 100s of 1000000s of our planet down to the size of approx one of our planet- in seconds. This is the beginning of a super nova. The core explodes out, the star sheds its material and in this process, the heaviest elements are then formed, and dispersed throughout the cosmos, Carbon being one of them. Now. What are the odds, of having just the right amount of stars comprising just the right size, all going nova around just the right time (and their life cycles are measured in BILLIONS of years), in just the right amount of consolidated space, so that enough Carbon is generated and accumulated to make organic carbon based life even possible? (And keep in mind, we are only talking about Carbon atoms here- this premise is excluding all of the other finite and precisely tuned variables needed for life to exist). Professor Lennox puts it like this (paraphrasing): Suppose you took a stack of quarters, and made it reach from Earth to the Moon. Then suppose, you took a country the size of Russia, and covered every square inch of its entire surface with stacks of quarters this size. Then suppose I told you that somewhere, in just one of those stacks, there was one quarter painted red, and suppose I asked you to go find it. Your odds of finding that one red coin, are the same as the chances that the generation of the Carbon atoms in our bodies and every other living thing on this planet was left completely to randomness.
Think about that. How profound that is. Remember, this doesn't include the odds of an insignificant and mid-grade, relatively stable star, and a planet at just the right distance from it, with a strong enough magnetic field to repel the onslaught of cosmic radiation, and having water and a breathable atmosphere for aerobic respiration, and other gas giant planets at just the right place to absorb the bulk of incoming space debris like comets and meteors and such, and other factors the gravity constant which makes star formation even possible, everything like that. When you factor in all of these things it's more like those stacks of quarters cover the whole Earth, not just Russia, and you still have got to find just one red coin. The amount of code stored in your DNA, the instruction manual that makes you, you, if arranged in one long word would be 3 billion characters long. The information would fill hundreds of volumes of 1000 page encyclopedias, and the print would be so small you would need a magnifying glass to read it. There are more atoms in one molecule of your DNA then there are stars in the Milky Way Galaxy, and there are 100s of billions of stars in it. Life is not random and spontaneous in origin. To believe that, would require a leap of faith so great and irrational. We are designed. Created. Brilliantly. By a transcendent causal agent, whom must exist outside of space, matter, energy, and time. The universe- space, matter, energy, and time, is not infinite. It has a provable beginning, and origin. The accelerating expansion of the universe can be mathematically and scientifically traced back to a single point, a singularity event. That goes completely against the laws of entropy and thermodynamics- meaning higher organization and order resulted from a lower state. This is not spontaneous. A non-spontaneous reaction (meaning unnatural) requires an outside energy to enable it to proceed. Only spontaneous reactions- ones which use energy and result in de-organization, from higher to lower orders, occur in nature. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN ON ITS OWN. If you have a beginning, you must have a beginner. And one which exists separate and apart from the creation itself.

-The sun causes fusion, not fission.
-Not all stars "live" for billions of years. Some only live for millions.
-Your whole first paragraph was just about how carbon is formed. Nothing supernatural here. Just an argument from incredulity because you don't understand how this could give us the proper amount of carbon for life to form.
-The second paragraph is mostly unfounded claims like "we are designed" and the universe has a "provable beginning". Both of which you didn't "prove".
      I remain unconvinced....

What are you talking about, stars billions of years old, and exploding into carbon atoms? Don't you know that God made everything from nothing? From scratch? And he created life so well that only 99.99% of species have gone extinct, so human beings could be here! Who could possibly believe that the planet just sat here, waiting for a star to explode, for God to wake up one day to assemble DNA and originate life and eventually make monkeys, dolphins, and humans. You probably believe that an elephant is somehow related to a banana, just because they have "carbon" bahahaha idiot

@@BobSacamano666 No, that’s actually not true. We know that all of the energy, matter, and space we see has a definite beginning, it logically follows that some entity that transcends the existence of all energy, matter, and space is responsible for causing the event that caused the origin of all the space, matter, and time. So we’ve confirmed a cause that transcends space, time, and matter.
When we also observe fine tuning of the cosmological constants, and the digital nature of DNA, it’s quite reasonable to believe that the already confirmed cause that transcends space, time, and matter is an intelligent designer of our universe.
Many scientists unknowingly posit a version of the same idea when they posit simulation theory.

And some of those phenomena were while with others and some were witnessed only by myself. Regardless, we know what we saw and heard! One incident was an actual exorcism. Of course, you are free to doubt, ridicule, disparage, call me a liar or whatever you choose. It doesn't change reality. And believe me, you are lucky to have the freedom to believe in only the natural. But others and myself,we don't have that luxury!!! I don't know why we saw and heard what we did. But I do *know that I could never dismiss those things in favor of evolution or any theory that contradicts what I saw and heard. And honestly, I don't think you could either. Could you? I would love to see an honest response. One more thing: Before you assume that I believe just because I "want" to believe ___ let me say this. I love your series. The only thing I'd suggest is to finally start use History the same way materialists (atheists) do. I grew up in a Soviet Socialist state, we were prohibited to even imagine "science" out of Darwinism. We were taught at school that Dialectic Materialism (the concept of combining Marxism with Darwinism) is what postulates the nature of everything. I had to study Darwinism at school while it was prohibited to enter a church, and possessing a Bible would have lead to jail for anti-communist propaganda. Materialism and Atheism were default understandings, religious views were prohibited by the constitution. I've seen and experienced all that shit when Atheism is the main ideology.
Yet, I've never managed to understand how is that possible a theory concerning Biology (what the Evolutionary theory is), to be entirely based on History. "History" is a very manipulated field, you can select one evidence or another in purpose to prove your thesis, and to exclude all other evidences. It's a tricky scientific field. Hoever, the Evolutionary theory relies entirely on Historical evidence. No biologist actually cares how a cell would have looked like 300 million years ago, they work on the current material they have. All those Historical references aiming to prove how the whale was once a bull, are just fairytales, because nothing of that can be actually repeated in a lab so to be proven scientifically correct.
Why don't you try indeed to find Historians supporting the intelligent design thesis, and speak with them on how and why the Evolutionary theory turned into Dialectical Materialism? If Dawkins can use History for building his multi-million business selling "Atheism and Materialism", isn't it time actual historians to speak about what Materialism and Atheism caused to many societies in 20-th century?

@@wymanspace4173 Hi ! You exist, because there is a complex programming in your DNA. Actual information management, inside you. You can't have even the simplest protein, ( or cell ) without DNA. And, the important thing here, is that DNA, isn't some kind of "juice floating inside your cells" , it IS actually a: LANGUAGE ( ie: the genetic "code" .. "code is a system of rules to convert information-such as a letter, word, sound, image, or gesture-into another form or representation, sometimes shortened" ). If you have two ears, it is because DNA actually have that info clearly expressed and stored. No language makes itself without someone actually designing or developing that language. If that would be the case, it actually requires much more faith to believe that, than to believe in the possibility of a higher level being, that actually designed the things that we actually know, have a lot of design and clear planning ( like the amazing DNA )..This was done by a Creator that cares about you opinion. You can choose to reject that creator that actually gave you the possibility to live, ( and wants you to learn things and be better, ) and see what happens next. Or you can actually be grateful , and be curious about him, try to know him and reach him. Two options. Guess what of these two paths he actually likes more ? .. :) Note. If He exists, and created all this, and created beings like us, capable of communicating: Do you think He may be able to communicate ? Offcourse, yes. From a all the possible messages by God, there is only one that has the quality mark, we could expect from that being: and the quality mark, are the ancient prophecies fulfilled in Jesus. Lots of prophecies writen many, many centuries beforee Christ, talk about Jesus. Even the sacrifice done in the cross, is clearly described in a text dating of 740 years before Christ. ( Just read Isaiah 53 .. ) Ok.. Please tell me if you have any question, I will be happy to interchange ideas.

God looks at them and says, "Is that so? Well tell you what lets just have ourselves a good old man making contest. Just like I did in Genesis. If you make a better man than I do, then I'll leave you alone."
The scientists huddled together whispering about appendixes, blind spots and nipples on men. Finally the head scientist came back to God and said, "You're on."
With that the lead scientist then scooped up some dirt and headed back to the other scientists to begin creating the perfect human.
Just at that moment God said to the lead scientist, "Hey, go get your own dirt."

There is only ONE Creator/Architect/Author/Designer (not some Alien from outer space) etc, who created such complexity in His creations, with a plan and a purpose, much of which man cannot comprehend. Consciousness, DNA, Cells, Energy etc., are way beyond the finite human mind. "As our Creator of ALL things revealed "My ways and thoughts are higher than man. How can one created, possibly think he can be as our Infinite Creator. Man can only take that which has been created and create something out of it. "Mans wisdom is but foolishness". I understand the logical fallacy of the "call to authority" to prove an issue. One can call out Stephen Hawking and say "because he was so smart and an atheist, therefore, I must believe as he did."
OK, let's get to Hawking: He was a cosmologist not an organic chemist. Second, he had a tough life, facing motor-neuron disease and being robbed of his mobility and speaking from a young age. Nobody would blame him for being an atheist. He was granted an enormously powerful mathematical intellect. True. But few of us would trade places with him. I would be more comfortable with his saying: "Look at me. Now you can understand why I am an atheist." But instead, he tried to use his math to disprove God. He failed. information is conserved in the Universe.
Now to Dr. Tour: I studied organic chemistry and biochemistry in college and medical school. I am here to tell you that James Tour, PhD, has an ORDER OF MAGNITUDE higher IQ than I ever did. I am not necessarily using the "call to authority" to prove Intelligent Design. But I will say that the arguments for ID are COMPELLING AND LOGICAL. They are falsifiable (as was proven with the hoax of "junk DNA."
ID is not warmed-over creationism. I have nothing against creationism, but I don't look at it as science. ID is in a different category.
ACCEPTING DARWINIAN EVOLUTION IS THE CANCELLING OF GOD. That was his intention. Moreover....it is WRONG. Evolution cannot and could not create life. Ever. Life and information is a direct refutation of the 2nd law of thermodynamics. It is the reverse. The proof of God is a statistical proof. Look to the obverse of the 2nd Law. It takes energy and vast information to fight against the 2nd Law. It cannot happen by chance.

Scientists require repeatable observation via experimentation in order to ascertain facts, otherwise it's just speculation and theory. If the goal is knowledge then closing the door on any theory is dumb but to embrace them blindly is also foolish. Watch enough stuff about evolution and the word "design" is bantered about by adherents as though "nothing" decides on improvements to an organism, it just gets better over time by chance. Yes it’s a mystery how life started and the complexity involved. But every agreed study, hypothesis, theory 100% points to life starting in a very basic form, bacteria-simple structures evolving into more complex life.
No idea how it started but tend to agree with the majority of the scientific community that some form of abiogenesis occurred. Otherwise how on earth (Geddit?) could any designer could be that patient....

Hi John john you are one of the few naturalists (I'm presuming this) that is willing to admit that they have no clue as to how life began. The reason why the majority of the scientific community BELIEVE that some form of undirected abiogenesis occurred is because they begin with a naturalistic/materialistic world view. The fact remains that the probability of this happening is zero or very close to it - irrespective of how much time the dirty pond was boiling and then freezing. The "simple" forms of life you refer to are inordinately complex. Then you go on to infer that any designer could not be so patient - which of course is a philosophical statement and not a scientific one. Have a read of Thomas Nagle's (atheist) book Mind and Cosmos: Why the Materialist Neo-Darwinian Conception of Nature is Almost Certainly False i

This description of a cell as a factory is a great learning tool. Please share it.
(I know you always keep an open mind): The cell is like a factory. It has various, computer-like hierarchically organized systems of hardware and software. It has various language-based informational systems, a translation system and huge amounts of precise and instructional, specific, complex information.
It has storage and extraction systems to make all the parts needed to produce the factory and replicate itself. It makes the scaffold structure that permits the building of the protective wall. It forms and sizes the walls with gates that permit cargo in and out, and recognition mechanisms that only let the right cargo in. It has specific sites and production lines, "employees" busily instructed to produce all kinds of necessary products, parts and sub-parts with the right form and size, with the right materials. It produces others that mount the parts together in the right order, in the right place, in the right sequence, at the right time.
It has sophisticated check and error detection mechanisms all along the production process with the ability to compare correctly produced parts to faulty ones and discard the faulty ones. Then it repeats the process to make the correct ones. It has highways and cargo carriers that have tags which recognize where to drop the cargo when it's needed, and cleans up waste using waste bins and sophisticated recycle mechanisms. It has storage departments. It produces its own energy and shuttles it where and when it's needed, and last but not least, reproduces itself completely.
The salient thing is that the individual parts and compartments have no function on their own. They had to emerge all at once. No step-wise manner is possible, all systems are interdependent and irreducible. And it could not be through evolution, since evolution depends on fully working, self replicating cells in order to function. How can someone rationally argue that the origin of the most sophisticated factory in the universe would be based on natural occurrences, without involving any guiding intelligence?
