The picture at 0.20 could easily be a picture by a master painter. Very beautifully staged, bravo. I really like your work and am looking forward to the next video. Many thanks
Definitely not a master, so many mistakes, contours for example, or that the objects are separated and not overlapping but I really appreciate your input though! Thank you very much Pablo!!
Beautiful trees! I love the pine, very elegant, absolutely beautiful 👌 The oil painting is impressive, you really know what you are doing. I haven’t seen your dog for a long time. Is she ok?
Thank you John I appreciate it! Just a little bit of forest topsoil, semi composted abies needles, pieces of cones and bark. They have lots of mycorrhizae and usually that helps a lot! Cheers!
Thank you Yote! Mountains are not for everyone, especially here in Greece, people are all about the sea, but not me. That mountain view is the reason I live here! Cheers!
Thank you Darko! I've set it aside as Im not happy with how the paper I have wrinkles when water hits it. I need to find a solution on that first.... Cheers!
Excelente tu arte volcado en la pintura. Tu barba me recordó a imágenes de Leon Tólstoy...😅😂, son solo locuras mías. El pino negro es una maravilla como creó corteza. Salud. 🙇♂️

@W9SL9Y definitely! Initially, conifers tend to grow deeper root systems as they grow mostly on drier, poor rocky soils. So aesthetically, nature has this difference in nebari look. Then, in bonsai, the way that you create great taper in conifers and mostly pines, is to always set the roots on mounds and as the nebari gradually matures, you gradually expose part of it in every future repotting. So every 2 - 3 years the tree sits just a little bit higher and the nebari gets a bit wider. After 50 years or so, you end up with huge, mature nebari, with rough bark, that barely fit the pot. Then you have to move the tree into bigger pot. That is the technique until the tree's death. Can you do this into maples as well? Well, yeah and Japanese definitely do that, but at a point you will settle with flat shallow roots, as this is what trees do in nature. Cheers!
@@ArkefthosBonsai Always look forward to your videos, the painting is beautiful and its great to see how you're always pushing to improve in all these areas!
Beautiful video as always my friend,i appreciated your job on these two fantastic trees. I very like their style, very compliments!👏👏👏👏😉
I appreciate it as always Roberto!
Such a beautiful painting, an adorable pine, a suspenseful juniper in its new angle. Your ceramic selections are always impeccable good sir.
Even though taste is objective and very biodiverse, I really appreciate the last comment! Thank you very much!

Your art is beautiful and so is your bonsai work. Thankyou so much
I appreciate it greatly Nerina! Especially about the painting!
Lovely video as always, however I feel like the juniper is a bit too mounded up...looks odd in the pot for now
Thank you! Yes it does, that is what I will adjust in 2 years. Lower and more to the left. Cheers!
Nice Work! Like the color of the pot you chose for the pine. Wish you well and happy growing!
Thank you Christian! Have a great Sunday!

I haven’t seen your dog for a long time. Is she ok?
Thank you Alex! Yes yes she is fine, it's just that she's hiding in the shadows of trees as it is already summer for her...
Loved the painting, my friend, and the shohin black pine! What else did you add to the substrate besides zeolite and pumice in the shohin?

Nice trees mate, I see a lot of potential. As always I'm super jealous of that mountain view.

Ελαφρόπετρα ως υπόστρωμα?
Μετά από έδαφος ναι. 5 με 6χιλ. Αν είναι απλή μεταφύτευση, βάζω ζεόλιθο, ελαφρόπετρα και περλίτη, ίσως λίγο οργανικό σε κάποια είδη.

Can you explain why with conifers/pines you should grow the roots as a mound instead of try to create a flat root surface like with deciduous etc?
