      You think so? I have a feeling that there are many people creating pines from raw material, kinda sarurated. Thank you though, I appreciate the way you phrased it!

      @@ArkefthosBonsai I don't see terribly many folks showing progrssion of "early" bonsai pines. Yes- quite a few folks with very old pines worth thousands, wiring every tiny branch- not so many who are taking this sort of material and making good things.

      Thank you John! The foliage will become shorter in a small pot, helping with the illusion. But that's two years away....

    It is always such a pleasure to see you working! Especially with trees like this, since I have a soft spot for literati style pines ❤️

    Hello my friend,i'm glad you managed to save this fantastic black pine and set it in the wonderful literati style. Nature give you a suggestion by dying the lower branches and you had an excellent intuition and obtained a beautiful result. I also love this style because it's very elegant even if it's not easy to achieve. Very good and congratulations!👍👍👍💪

      We had a relatively mild summer at the garden (in contrast to the lower elevation Greece). No Sahara dust storms and heatwaves this year, which is weird. So trees are all great this season. Thank you Harry!

    I realize the tree is still in development, but isn't the foliage mass a bit symmetrical for a bunjin style tree?

    • @ArkefthosBonsai
      @ArkefthosBonsai  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Excellent point! Even though I tried to break the symmetry by shortening the visual length of the right lower branch the final design will be done in early summer of 2025. Since it is just a year and a half since I dug it out of the ground, I didn't want to cut any branches. But mid June next year will be the perfect time to do so, as the buds you saw along the stems, will extend and produce good effective new foliage, then I come and shorten the tips drastically. That will strengthen the buds effectively. So, this is going to be a June video. Cheers!

    Tree came out great. Love literati style pines. Question u ever see a mugo pines needles start going brown after sudden temperature drops. Looks like they could be drying out. Its almost fall here in the US and im going from 75 80 degree days to 55 50 at night all of a sudden. Will those needles ever go green again? What should i do with the pine? Thanks

    • @ArkefthosBonsai
      @ArkefthosBonsai  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you Chris! Mugo can be challenging. What you see now is probably damage done a few months ago, it just takes time to show. So it's not the sudden temperature drop, but rather high summer temperature that did the damage. Furthermore, with mugo you need to control watering. That might also be to much water in some parts of the football as well and it will appear right about now. These needles will not green up again. There is a small chance the buds are alive, but only if you have some needles still green on the branch. Good luck!

    The front is very nice, but you forgot to take care of a balance between front and almost bare back. Nevertheless, I wish you success during the next 2 years.

    • @ArkefthosBonsai
      @ArkefthosBonsai  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! It's more full than it looks, but the important thing is that it is full of buds, so many, that pruning will be more important than development of ramification. Cheers!
