    READ ABOUT THIS VIDEO HERE:
The 4 Core Canine vaccines and where to give them:
The reason we give vaccines at certain anatomical location sites universally is to identify any reactions that occur and so we know what vaccine it was from.
The four core vaccines are for:
    1. Canine Parvovirus
    2. Canine Adenovirus type 2 - which cross protects against Canine Adenovirus type 1 or canine hepatitis
    3. Canine Distemper virus
And 3 viruses are covered in a combination vaccine called DHPP, which your vet will give several boosters of this to your dog starting at 6-8 weeks old.
    And number 4 is the
    4. Rabies Vaccine
    a. This is given at around 4 months old and boosted yearly or every 3 years depending on the vaccine type.
And then the 5th one commonly given is the Bordetella Vaccine against the general kennel cough in dogs which is not considered a core vaccine but it is an important one to help your pets get through kennel cough. Other non-core vaccines you will come across are the Lepto Vaccine, Lyme Vaccine and Influenza vaccine. Which depending on where you live and your pets lifestyle your vet will recommend these for your dogs and puppies.
Just like in cats we want to give canine vaccines as distal on the limbs as possible.
No vaccines should ever be given along the lumbar region.
These vaccines are all given subcutenously, which means under the skin and not in the muscle.
    VACCINE LOCATION SITES:
The DHPP Vaccine is given on the Right front limb
The Rabies Vaccine is given on the Right hind limbs
Bordetella and influenza is given on the left front limb
Lyme and lepto are given on the left hind limb.
    Alright guys,
I hope you learned something today or simply got a good review of your vaccine location sites.

Dog got shots. 3-4 days later he has soft ball painless marble size below jaw. Should I be concerned?

Great video up until the actual injections. Cameraman didn't show it to help people who came here for proper technique for pinching skin. Also why do some vet videos show giving the DAPP or whatever behind the neck not the shoulder

Hello mam. I've rescued a newborn puppy on 27 March. A 1/4 metre of placenta was also attached with him. Today he is 9 days old. On a vet doctor consultation I'm feeling him baby cerelac 1. my puppy is crying non stop since morning. he is not showing any activity, not showing any interest in feeding. He is also looking sick. Please help 🙏 I'm so worried about him.

Please tell me you took your puppy for a recheck at the vet rather than seeking medical advice online that may never be answered. Medical professionals are very busy and may not be able to answer your questions unless you book the time with them.

Why didn't you tell us the reason for not giving in the back of the neck, like we've been doing for years?

Why do you give all these vaccines at once? I give them 6 months apart or more and check titers when available. I think it is too much for the system. Plus you give Benadryl. Tells me something. Additionally our vet will only give Bordetella
no more than once al year for Std Poodles.

Some clients want to get them done all at once. If they have time I do recommend for them to be spaced out. If I give them all at once I give them steroids to help their system.

@@drlindsaybutzer Thanks for your reply. I wish there was a solution that was better for our pets. Lazy is not the best approach. IMO. Especially for meds. Kind of like “ I will take all those meds that will make me sick and maybe put me into a reaction. Give me some Benadryl or epi.
      Maybe better education for owners
Pets can not complain. Owners need some common sense.
      Oh, well. Appreciate your response.

@@betagirlearth People would not do it all at once if it was too much for their system. It wouldn't be common practice. You're barking at a problem that may only appear minorly.

@@ktbdw2403There are a lot of problems associated with vaccinations. Trust that people do plenty of things that aren’t good for their pets just because they’re still done based on outdated science and beliefs. And I’m not an anti-vaxxer by any means. But people need to do better by their pets. Laziness and ignorance is not an excuse.
