@The Horny Vegan's Little Brother that's because almost any "diet does/could work for any given individual. Keto, carnivore, plant based... it doesn't matter. As long as you're in a caloric deficit or close to it and consume enough protein and get in sufficient micronutrients for optimal bodily function, you'll be relatively healthy.
@The Horny Vegan's Little Brother it's funny because your criticism was of Layne Norton saying that he says any diet works... he ALWAYS posts that diet adherence is pretty much the most important thing and that keto diet has low adherence... I think that yes, studies have shown that the adherence to keto diet is lower compared to some other diets but I'm not going to dismiss it for the few people who do and can adhere to it. My only point is that being in a caloric deficit is the only way to lose fat and it doesn't matter what diet model you follow.
Nice to learn about these youtubers. I find Squats University, Built With Science, Jeff Nippard, AthleanX and MattDoesFitness great, so those you've mentioned will definitley be added up to my list.
You've given us a network of professionals regarding to weight loss, body building, and strength training. You're like Robin Hood for the fitness community. Thank you Sean, cheers!

Maybe that can be another topic- top female fitness YT. Though it shouldn't really matter, save for the very few that for whatever reason wants info mainly from them. I was KO'd when you brought up Castleberry, but at the same time recognized, not a chance. Greg is probably the best on the list, to me, because he understands the need to market, and thus balances out the info with marketing tactics. He understands that no matter how good the info, you really need to market it in a way that's appealing to draw people in so that they can take the info and use it. Essentially he's a smart businessman who also happens to care a lot.
I unsubscribed from Steve a while ago after watching his program intended for people who are stuck at 225 bench and another, more recent, where he presented a "more intelligent" alternative to PPL. Not saying he didn't mean well as he said he was doing the first program himself. Perhaps, didn't think it through. Gave a really bad piece of advise nevertheless.
@@alexsagatov i don't really understand what's wrong with his approach of his recent ppl program,I own several John Meadows programs and they follow a ppl split and John himself recommends to skip any one of the second push or pull or leg day and make it 5day split ,that's what Steve suggested too,if your argument is about he said do it 3 days a week if you want ,it's absolutely fine too, maybe you think 3 day ppl is a bro split? So,what's wrong with that?bro splits aren't bad if you follow them consistently and 2x frequency splits aren't good if you follow them inconsistently Also it'd be nice if you link the bench video you are talking about
Just subscribed - it really grinds my gears how some people can do whatever in the gym, end up looking good, and then feel that theyre qualified to give advice to other people, especially if they have a large following. It makes it hard for actually knowledgeable professionals to give advice out online because beginners won't know who to look to. Solid video man, look forward to learning from you and these guys :)
Not that anyone cares but if I ever made that kind of list I would put you on it as well. Also, I think the mountain dog fitness guy -(also ex-bodybuilder) puts really down to earth and honest content. I don't watch everything he posts but he just stands out whenever I do watch his videos compared to others.
Your physique at 14 was insane. Mind you, I started training at 12 and trying to emulate the routines in Arnold's Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding didn't help me gain, until I started using it as a step for calf raises.
Thanks for letting me know about steve shaw, my deadlift recently plattowed so hard to a point where my bench is as strong as my deadlift lol. I could use a no bs powerlifter's advice
Hey Sean, great video, but I have a question.... It actually has to do with a previous critique video you did on Jeff Cavalier.... I have been following Jeff's programs for a couple years, and have had great results... He has helped me through a neck injury, and I feel better than I ever have... Now I know he isn't the right guy for EVERYTHING fitness, but I love his science based overall athletic approach... If I wanted to become a body builder I would follow John Meadows for example... If I wanted to be a strongman I would follow Thor or Eddie Hall.... If I wanted to be a calisthenics guru I would follow the guy from Fitness FAQ's (sorry not sure what his name is, the Australian guy, lol).... My point, or moreover my question, is what about Jeff don't you like? Other than the fake weight issue, which I get, and his products are a bit pricey... But beyond that, do you think he gives quality advice and content? I mean the guy has been an athletic trainer for a really long time, working with a lot of big name athletes who swear by his training model... I guess the main reason I ask is because, although I hear you and agree with you on the fact of his fake weight usage (but to be honest there can be many reasons he chose to do that...), I wanted to see if you felt he has quality content beyond that? Is that the only reason he didn't make your recommended list? Thanks for your time, I do enjoy your content brother, and value your input, hence why I am even asking you this... Have a great day.
I was gonna ask the same actually. I kinda with the right guy part. In my opinion I think there’s no such thing as the “right guy” for everything fitness. There’s plenty of other people who are legit too
The guy may sell pricy products but it's not like he goes on and on advertising them as if he was the only solution to your problems. As for the fake weights, I really couldn't care less cause his videos aren't about the weight, it's about the form, he's mostly doing reps as an exemple to show you the do's and don'ts. I don't care if a guy can bench press 300lbs, if he has a shit form and is not at all instructive, I won't give him any respect.
You're very knowledgeable and I also enjoy Jeremy Either. I have 20+ years as a trainer, some of my certifications are in. Strength and Conditioning and agility training. Good work.

How Jeremy Ethier is left off this list boggles my mind. I think he deserves a place, even if there's only 6 spots. His content are creme de la creme among fitness youtubers, as just about everything he releases is very solid, backed by science/studies. On the other hand, someone who is on this list, such as Mario Tomic, is spot on (usually), but most of his videos are anecdotal (personal experience, not based on science), he rehashes and says the same things over and over again in a short span of time (example, in the last 3-4 months he released 3 videos on the exact same topic....fat-burning), and a lot of his material is more motivational rather than rigorously informative. Jeremy overtakes Mario, every time. I would even say, guys like Sean Nalewanyj, who boasts about being scientific, hardly ever cites the actual science. He wants you to *assume* what he's saying is scientific, and take his word for it. Both Mario and Sean speak confidently and authoritatively (respectively), which gives off the feeling like they know what they're talking about. I'll give those 2 guys credit, they generally *ARE* on-point...but they rarely back up what they say, and to me that is *problematic* . Why? If you don't back up what you're saying, even if you're correct, what makes you more credible than the sketchy fitness content creators that plague youtube? You are hardly better than them. Without evidence for your points, you're essentially just saying "trust me, because I'm right, trust me because I say so". Jeremy on the other hand, will show you the actual studies and explain the science, anatomy, physiology, and logic, EVERY....SINGLE....TIME. In my view he ought to be #1 on everyone's list. And on top of that, he just seems like a nice, humble guy. **He lets his quality content do the talking,** and doesn't get his jollies off "exposing" the fakers on youtube. If you do that, you're going to get into a never-ending cycle of "exposing". Sure you don't want people to be wasting their time with the fakers out there, but I say again....let your content do the talking! We're not stupid. If I watch a V-Shred video, and then watch a Jeremy video on the same topic, I'm going to realise there are OBVIOUS discrepancies and differences in their recommendations, some of which are very polar opposites. In that case, with Jeremy's content being backed by sound science, guess who I'm going to conclude is correct? Releasing video after video after video "exposing" the fakers just makes guys like Sean sound cynical, and to be quite honest, like a booty hole desperate for attention and viewership. Having said all that, yes I understand this list is just one reporter's opinion, and he can put whomever he wants on it. I just personally think Jeremy's such an obvious choice, and even to take top spots....such that not being on such a list at all, throws me off, like, WUH??? LoL
Subbed because of this video. As someone trying to get into good shape and avoid the bullshit, this is very important to me. Thank you for trying to be the reason in the sea of madness and advertising. I also appreciate the update where you remove someone, means a lot that you can see when someone is not in line with what you're trying to promote.
Women typically have different 'Goals' in their fitness and training. I was an Athletic Trainer for a female College Sports Program. And there were clear differences in their goals. Yes, of course, there is plenty of over-lap. And "the Science" is the same.. mostly. But there were also some different outcomes they were looking for... and most 'Quality' Lady TH-camrs, who are truly training for athletic performance, are going to focus on those outcomes that most apply to female Athletes. {And I am not talking about Aerobics video's and 'Dance for fitness' programs.} Some times there ARE differences in male and female needs with OUT being labeled "Sexist" ... (smile)
I've never heard of any of these guys so I will have to check them out. My go-to body health people up to now are: Ryan Humiston, Jeff Cavaliere, Dr. Eric Berg, and Jeff Nippard. What do you guys think of these guys?
The Buff Dudes have always been my favorites. They're very beginner friendly, their info is science based and it's presented in a fun way. They got something for everybody.
There's honestly lot of good ones who give 95% correct information to get buff (without steroids). Building muscle is hard but not complex, the primary driving force is between your ears = pure guts. I mean sure you need correct form, compound lifts, enough protein yada yada but that information has been floating in the internet for 20+ years. Arnold Golden Six, whatever. Now the information is easier to find than ever, from videos like this guy makes. But building muscle isn't rocket science, it's primarily a guts thing (and THAT is what causes most people to fail). The muscle doesn't know/see what you are doing, it only knows if it's contracting hard or not. And if it happens often enough or not.
The truth is hard to find these days. Lots of information to sort. People usualy go for the scamers. Thats why they dont get results. As a PT i understand the need to sell yourself bur u can do it without being a total scamer. A client who is new to fitness dosent want to hear that his training, specialy in his first months dosent need to include 20 types of exercises and fancy workoutprotocols and suplements BUT u can still make it work. I hate the ideea when i see other PT training theyr clients to absolute failure until they are unable to do anyrhing for a few days just so they can prove somehow theyr worth. Consistency is key in all. U cannot undo the damage done to someones body in years and years with a “special” plan or other bullshit without risking health isues. Keep up the good work and spread the info!
I found Coach Greg during the lockdown and let me tell ya, his non nonsense approach to burning calories while gaining muscle helped me lose weight and keep it off. Helped me change my mindset on how I should workout while not overcomplicating things.
I thought people hated on Greg D. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Steve Shaw = the proven basics; no fluff & pump... No gimmicks.
So,what's wrong with that?bro splits aren't bad if you follow them consistently and 2x frequency splits aren't good if you follow them inconsistently
Also it'd be nice if you link the bench video you are talking about

LoL

(smile)
Its okay to be sexist. For example, i only date women 🤣
What are your thought on “hybrid calisthenics”?
Thanks for all the videos ! You are the real deal .
