- Check out this Pro Street 1973 Chevrolet Vega..."VEGABOND" that I found at the 2019 Goodguys PPG Nationals...I first caught wind of this build from a fan of the ScottieDTV TH-cam Channel ...He emailed me and let Me know that it would be at the 2019 GoodGuys PPG Nationals in Columbus OH....And to be honest....Pictures didn't do this 1973 Chevrolet Vega justice...I mean it looked cool....But in real life...WOW!!...Talk about a attention getter...This 73 Vega...VEGABOND will get your attention...It's a pro street build...But a very finished pro street build...All most pro touring....But with the whole rear of the car filled with rubber...It's pro street....The car is out of Canada....So it is always cool to see a build drift down from the great white north....And this 1973 Chevrolet Vega is covered in white actually not a color that I always gravitate to...But it works here...The interior is..... Basketball .....Yes! Basketball colored....With dark grey accents....And Man does that work...Just a awesome color combo on this 1973 Chevrolet Vega VEGABOND from the 2019 Goodguys PPG Nationals...A 427 under....and through the hood...I like a whole in the hood every now and then...And I loved this one....To Me this 73 Vega is a over the top build....Not a daily driver...But one that I am sure will see get some miles cruising around at some car shows But on the cool scale....It's always going to score well..It will always going to make people smile....A very cool build for sure...And I know you are going to love VEGABOND also...

As one of the world's most extreme Vega haters, I can honestly say you knocked it out of the ballpark with this one. It's been nearly half a century since the Vega's introduction and this the first time seeing one I'd love having as my own.

Nice. If GM had built them like this back in the day they probably would have sold more. My friend used to have a Monza. I haven't seen a Vega or Monza in years.

That is very smooth. Ive seen interior like that on a car show. Guy did big boat cars in Utah and the same looking patterns were used. It really sets a car off with the metal grommets.
Gives it a street machine...a more aggressive look....You see them use regularly...

Hi Scottie; This is one hell of a car.The only thing is with that kind of mill under the hood I am sure if he went W.O.T. NOT having a rollbar could prove to be the cause of one hell of a headache....lol...Thanks for this review,and your right that basketball interior is HOT...I really like that headliner too.

If i remmber right scotty that 1974 vega we had in 1977 the outer color was a gloss orange ...it really made the chrome on the whole car pop out at ya .. The inteior was eather a sandish tan color with chrome actcents trim around everything ? Or black interior with chrome trim out . Thats been soooo many moons ago . But your opion on it putting in mind of a splitbump camero in my humble opion is dead on with yours . It does look like a shrunkin head verson . .. Of that camero .. I do like the hand made lower exuast valus they made . Really gave the back end a smooth sleak shape below the bumper . The only question i have is does it cause a heat up problem at the rear metal of the car . Hopefully not to bad .??

Hey Scottie that’s the best Vega I’ve seen. They’re very similar apart from the front end to the Torana GM manufactured & sold here in Australia during the mid 70’s.

Scotty you did a piece on a roadster I believe it was crazy mint green it had every little Fastener that you could not see no bolts the exhaust had no bolts the interior had a blue lighting to it can't find it older couple had this car for many years could you possibly send me the name and a video that you did of that particular car thanks Scotty keep up the good work.

You said they anticipate driving it I don't see it happening I know I wouldn't want to get in to one of those seats with those steel rings on them leave some nice burns on your back if it sits in the Sun for any length of time
