Awesome video. I have not seen any reviewers on TH-cam discuss the new Magic Keyboard in such detail. It’s nice to know that improvements were made (stiffer hinge, stronger magnets) compared to the previous generation. Unfortunately Apple rarely goes into detail about newly released products. That is the reason why everyone who purchased the previous generation was upset because they couldn’t see or tell what the differences were.
Thanks. I went with the old keyboard for my new 2021 iPad Pro. The old magic keyboard is on sale today for $199 at Best Buy. Functions the same and I get to keep $150 in my pocket
The design of the new Magic Keyboard accommodates screen protectors without any issues. However, using the older Magic Keyboard with a screen protector can prevent the iPad from closing correctly. Depending on how you store your iPad, this could put undue pressure on the screen.

You have helped answer my frustrating conundrum 😊 I’m getting the 2021 version.
Every video I've seen seems to intimate that the 2021 MK is white whereas the 2020 one is black, but I've just bought a 2021 M1 iPad Pro and a black MK, and I get the small gap and the slow closing.

Is there a black version of the 2021 magic keyboard? I went to website and even called apple's customer's service, they all responded me with "the specs of the two colors are exactly the same", which is different from the result of your review. I prefer the spec of the 2nd gen of MK, but also prefer the black color, so I'm stuck now
I called Apple customer service and they told me the black version they’re selling is the latest version like the white MK, but if you buy it from other sellers like Amazon and Ebay u may get the previous version.
350 $ for "an elevated peace of mind" is a tall order if the old version kinda fits. I do understand the appeal of having the keyboard for the iPad, but at that cost? If you were to rely on using the tablet as a laptop that much, why not get...a MacBook? Anyway, for an accessory that only fits one generation of iPad properly, it is just waaaaay to expensive. All these device-specific accessories have that problem. I get wanting new tablets, phones and so on, but at least my GAS rarely extends to the stuff around the device. That should carry over.
Great video, glad I found it. Does the size of the case effect how the iPad gets charged when it is connected to the magic keyboard and is plugged into the usbc of the keyboard?
He said it worked . Apple say it functions but track pad better on new one and space/ air gap between keys I feel is important for increasing lifespan of keypad and tablet plus magnets not as strong on old version due to slightly different placement

Is the keyboard for 11 model also updated, especially the trackpad clicks and extra magnets, and this gap increase,? Or those were for 12.9 only?

I have 5th Gen iPad and Coverbuddy case. Will this still fit? I don’t really care if it’s a little bit bulky if it works.

It’s future proof . Apps in future won’t be developed automatically for older versions. Plus it’s swift and perky 😊
