@The Amazing Aidan because sometimes, once you have settled what you need, it’s just as important to settle what you want lol. I only needed the iPad Air 4 for work and it’s size, I wanted the m1 12.9 iPad Pro because nice screen and m1. I bought the m1 11” iPad Pro lol to compromise reaching between my needs and my wants.
I’m not sure if I like my magic keyboard. I have this and the Logitech folio. I don’t need a track pad, although it’s nice. I seem to not be comfortable typing on it with more errors and hitting 2 keys at the same time. Not sure what is going on with me lol. I’m not a speed typing person, so maybe that is my downfall. I have no problem with typing on the folio. Am I the only one? I hate this considering I spent 350.00 on it.
I’ve Had the white Magic Keyboard (writing from here) with the 4th generation iPad Air which is 3 years old and i use it for colleague. It is really a life changer to take notes bc i used to take them writing on the iPad but when i started typing them it i could take them faster. If you’re using it for colleague its perfect, i can take pictures of the ppt presentations of my classes and put them in my notes immediately, and I can’t take the picture while still being in class and without teachers noticing it (like it would be if i took the pics in my phone) and that really comes in handy. Also i use good notes for it and it allows me to record the class WHILE taking the notes, and when i view them i can listen to the recording and see what notes i typed while recording, that’s just mind blowing to me. The size is convenient and easy to take in a small backpack and it’s very very practical, just put it in the keyboard and it’s ready to work, no need for charging. This is a product that has really worked for me in two years+ and i think is totally worth it. Whatsoever, because i use it a lot and take it along with me everywhere it has gotten pretty dirty, for it to be neat clean i would have to clean it like once a week (which i dont do) and i really like customizing my stuff so i put some stickers in it, it doesn’t look bad tho but its definitely not as white as when i first got it. I usually clean it with a towel with soap and water and at least it look presentable, but if you’re someone really really sloppy (like me) you have to keep in mind that it will not always be bright white, it still looks sleek and beautiful tho, hope this helps someone
I also have a white one, I haven’t used it a whole lot so it’s not dirty yet, but I’ve heard that you can use a magic eraser to get rid of stains on it. It could be worth a shot but id also be careful with it because magic erasers can harsh on some things.
BEST iPad Channel! When I switched from Windows to the Apple Verse when the 2020 iPad Pro was released, Gary’s channel helped me learn what I needed to know.. Great Channel !!!!!!
I have that exact one and i thought i would clean it way more than i have but smells stains come right off so I recommend and I have had it for a month and its all good
I prefer the folio keyboard for my 11 inch iPad for two main reasons. 1. It’s cheaper (although still stupidly expensive for what you get) . 2. It folds flat for when I’m using the pencil (which is also stupidly expensive as well).
Hey Gary! You should do an Apple Magic Keyboard vs Logitech Combo Touch video! If you do, could you also answer the question if the 2020 iPad Pro works with the Logitech combo touch? I have a 2020 one and the Logitech combo touch seems like a pretty good keyboard for my use case!
Barring the colour, the 12.9 model is the S ame as last years only 0.5mm thicker. So I got the 2020 Magic Keyboard, new, for half the price. And now it’s sat waiting for the iPad Pro itself to sit in it. 👍🏻
The best accessory that makes the iPad heavier than a 13” MacBook Pro, as thick as a laptop, without the ability to use it as a tablet without removing it from the keyboard, limited adjustment angle that makes the whole thing topple over when you put it on your lap, or even just push with your finger too hard. Yup, must have. Best accessory ever made.
Thank you for discussing the size difference between the 11 and 12 inch keyboards. I have the 2020 11 inch version and I do find my hands are too cramped. That's the one thing I was a bit disappointed in and it made me think I should have bought the 12.9 inch iPad just for this reason. Having said that , I am still waiting and hoping that WWDC brings us iOS 15 with true external monitor support for my 2020 iPad pro. If not then I will have to go with a laptop as my next device.
@@vonleopold6126 much like my car, where I did white, but everyone else's white tech where the hands touch and its also a case turned brown or gray or other dingy looks
I am considering buying a magic keyboard for a M1 iPad Pro 11”. When you close the it has it scratched the glass on the iPad? If you see this thanks for the response.
Not sure if you changed something with your setup, but I can really hear when you moving things around on the table - like the vibration from it coming through is deep bass.
I can't wait to see your white MK in a month. It is going to look like Arctic camouflage with some nice contrasting, pools of dark flecks ;) I really wanted the white, and had it on order. But after reviewing my previous Apple folio history I knew I was not the best candidate for the beautiful, white version of the MK.
Hey Gary! I think instead of a seperate video, you could just talk about how it looks and feels in one of the one week/month follow up videos you alwqys do. I still haven’t decided between a 16GB MacBook Pro, or a cellular 12.9 with the case, so your comparisons would help a lot! I will 100% wait with my purchase until the end of WWDC, to know the prices and specs of the new 14 inch MacBook, and everything about the new iPadOS, because that’s what is currently holding me back for going with the Pro. Keep up the amazing content, Gary!
If I were going to pay that much for the tablet and the accesories, it would have to be a laptop replacement. Why would I pay that much for a device, and also have a regular laptop. It just seem to be extravagant.
Great video! Do you have a video of how the white keyboard case is holding up now? Would love to know if it dirties easily and if I should go with black? Or even just a reply review will do please! 👏🏼
Just received a £300 gift voucher for my local computer store I was going to put it towards the new magic keyboard and pay the extra £30 towards it, but as the old version fits I bought one of those for £199 and a DJI OM 4 gimbal got 10% off the pair of them so worked out about the same price as just buying the new keyboard on its own 🙂
Video idea: how to use the M1 Macbook (any model) and the iPad (any model) to complement each other. (I personally have an M1 Air, and an iPad Air 2020, and use them both for different purposes). Oh, yes. Awesome videos as usual! 👍👍
Hey Dad: two things - could you do a battery test with the keyboard? and could you also do a side by side comparison to the macbook air? Like to see those two to figure out which to get. If you can figure it out - I can figure it out;-)
Based on the resolution, I noticed that the 11 inch iPads are slightly longer at 1.43:1 aspect ration, compared to the 12.9 inch 4:3 aspect. Apple should have gone the other way round and had a slightly longer 12.9inch and a more squarish 11 inch. DOn't get me wrong, 1.43:1 is still pretty square and is still very very good. ITs just that 4:3 for a almost 13 inch is a wee bit unwieldy.
I still like my Logitech as you are more spread out and you can rest your hands. Also having function keys is huge. I dont like the white I would have it dirty in no time.
I would like to understand the philosophical differences in the basic line of iPads/MacBooks vs. the "air" products vs. the "pro" products. What does "air" add and then what does "pro" add?
I think it’s actually different for each kind of product. “Air” and “pro” on the iPhones and iPads differentiate between extra features, like cameras and ProMotion. But the iPad Air and baseline iPhones still have the A14 chip. Before the M1, Macs with “pro” in their name would have better processors in addition to their extra features. With Macs, it’s more like Steve Jobs’ four square chart for consumers vs. professional users.
Microsoft Surface Pro managed better to set up keyboard together with tablet it self, I wondered why Apple created so funny keyboard connection with I pad pro? and cost consumer $300+ just for the keyboard?
id love to see a comparison between the 11 inch m1 ipad pro and the 2020 ipad air
Why? The Air 4 will be inferior in every single facet.
@The Amazing Aidan because sometimes, once you have settled what you need, it’s just as important to settle what you want lol.

WOW the 12.9 dwarfs the 11.. I have the 12.9 and love the full size keyboard, as that was the main reason I went with the 12.9..
Man is really grinding the iPad content
I'm not complaining 🤣🤣
Let’s see what that white keyboard case looks like with a few months of patina on it.

I really want to see if the 11 inch still fits into last year’s Logitech folio touch :)
Why it wouldn't?
The slightly altered/thicker form factor if at all…
Just wanted to see if anyone might know.
@@randaranatunga7259 I have never read that the 11 inch is in any way different to the previous year model
Oh
I thought it was a bit thicker
Thanks for the info
God I wish I had a Magic Keyboard for my Air 4, it’s just too damn expensive!
Buy used, I just got one on fb marketplace for $150 12.9

Also if you have a 2020 version iPad Pro there is a small gap between the keyboard cause the M1 is barely thicker
Yes…. They need to make the plastic wrap more resistance
Going HAMMM on the uploads. Love it
Yes! Thank you! I’d really like to see how dirt resistant is this white magic keyboard 😋 maybe a follow up after weeks and months,,,

Finally! A keyboard review! Yes! We definitely need an update! Thanks for the video!
Great information, I don't have a Magic keyboard yet. But I'm very interested in getting one in the future.
Are you comparing old 11” with newer 12.9??
Help! My magic keyboard backlight only turns on at night. I can not turn it on during the day is this normal?
Can you use the 2020 Keyboard on the 2021 M1 iPad?
Yes
Why? Why they cannot design the magnetics so that we can adapt the screen in a portrait arrangement So many people are desperately waiting for! Why?

we can tilt the ipad to access the function keys right? if they would put like tiny rectangular keys
Finally! Nice content keep it up!
Update on the white one bro?
I want to see a long term review on the white & black keyboard and how has it hold up. Theres not much content on this anywhere… should i still buy?

Thank you for noting cleanliness as a factor. White magic keyboard bought during pandemic had to be cleaned every other week.

To resume the video in one sentence: it's the same as the previous magic keyboard but in white. And because I had the 11 inch before, it's larger.
So, more than a year later, how white is the white now?
Any opinions on the Logitech Combo Touch for the 12.9?
