My dad had a reticulated python named Tiny. Side note: he gave her away when my mom was pregnant with my older brother because she escaped her enclosure and knocked over my parent's tv when they were out having dinner. I met her once as a toddler and was absolutely terrified of her. To be fair, Tiny was really big and I was really tiny. I'm thankfully a lot less scared of them now.
It's Emily, she is so bubbly and sweet you over look your fears! You should probably visit Emily and Ed when it is safe to. Emily will get you over your fear and get you started with a nice Royal Python! They are wonderful albeit a little frustrating at times. LOL!! 🤣

I love that you named the black-headed python Inky! There was a kitten living under the shed at my college named Inky. Luckily, him and his sister, Piggy, are now in their forevere homes, Piggy with me and Inky with a guy who offered to take him.
Corn snakes are probably the closest to perfect first snake for any begginer, but if your after something different look into spotted, children's and stimsons pythons... They are very beautiful Australian Pythons and a personal favourite of mine.

Suggest that you would like to demo it on your channel and give it a "long term" test and you can feature it in you feeding videos! No more bucket of water in fact no water is required! My mum saw a black headed python outside the shops the other day and i was so jealous cause i was at home. She sent me photos though, its fun to see an animal on this channel in the wild
that was awesome.. i used to be scared of having them as pets though.. and i still am.. because i think i am not used to its appearance.. but gradually overcoming it since a family member of mine have one.. and it is not so bad afterall

Most really gravid snakes won't eat at all, probably because it would be uncomfortable rather than hurt. At least I hope so.
