Interesting regarding the fix rings for normal Ryanair operations for situational awareness. 4 nm is gear down flaps 15. extended to 5 miles in reduced RVR. 90nm is the TOD (altitude x 3).

We always avoid hazardous weather it doesn't matter if it's an isolated cell or a squall line of cumulunimbus clouds. Weather radar is our best equipment to make a good judgement if we need to deviate from our flight plan route to avoid.
