I own a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder Armada and I had 4 codes for my check engine light! I had purge valve, 02 sensors random misfires and emissions! I can't afford to go out and buy parts that may or may-not be the causes for the codes! Yesterday, I was messing around with the under hood fuse box because my low beam headlights stopped working! I rearranged a few of the relays, using the fog lamp relay for headlight relay and it cured the headlight 8sdue! I drove to Walmart and 85 would stall at intersections coming to a stop, sometimes it would start right away and sometimes not! Ran code reader again and they were 02 sensor, purge valve open, random misfires and evape! I went back home took all the relays out of that little box, 2 brown relays 1 black relay and 1 blue one! I started with a brown relay, taking it apart to exam it! Relays are like a set of points, they make😂contact and that's how the relay gets activated! The points of contact were burnt, blackened and coroded! I took a small piece of sandppaper and cleaned the contact points, after popping that clip back in I adjusted those points, using a piece of the cardboard from a book of matches as a feeler guage! I repeated this with all 4 of the relays, replaced them, reset the computer and cleared my code reader and went for a ride! My check engine light has not came back on, no codes have been detected and my Armada is running just fine!
#NewFan YOU Sir, have definitely found your calling ! 😬 I am impressed by the way you present the information and the format you laid it out in with such an informative, simplistic and detailed step-by-step guide… and you have the perfect voice for narrating these types of videos.. It’s quite comforting and makes me feel empowered that I could actually get this done! This damn code has been a bane of my existence for the past two years for my 2013 Nissan rogue… we’ve done them all outside of replacing the gas cap to the original (after my father decided he wanted a locked gas cap) although it’s still possible that that might be the corporate can tell you that we have not tried to test the pressure on the system, using the smoke procedure… The moment I saw you rig that device … I knew at that moment that I would be a fan for life !! 😂 So thanks again for all the information. I’m so blessed that your talent found TH-cam and was smart enough to put it together. Looking forward to watching many more videos !!
Awesome awesome awesome video, buddy! That smoke was genius. I'm so glad that I ran into your video, sir. I will be doing this to my Xterra this weekend. Thank you for the video, buddy. 🤝
Yup I have the same nagging code 0455 and the fraudsters at the warranty company says this code isn't covered. I hate warranty companies because they don't cover anything but they do rip you off each month! 🤔🖕
Got gas cap warning on dash. Then check engine light. Truck starts and runs fine except for after I get gas. Then wants to stall and have to restart a few times feathering the gas pedal. Going to start with the purge valve and then canister valve. Installed new gas cap but still acting up when I get gas. Btw. 2013 Nissan Titan. Not sure what this issue might be as I don’t have a code reader. Thanks for the video
New to repairs, is the “service engine soon” light what you are calling the “check engine” light? I can’t find a “check engine” light in my dash instrument panel for my 2006 Frontier. Trying to figure out if my “check engine” light is not working or is it out? Thanks.
Yes. Older cars had a similar dummy light, which displays "Check Engine," or a picture of an engine. So, I use the term loosely when the vehicle displays a light to indicate something is wrong under the hood. The our trucks they say "Service Engine Soon," but it means the same thing. Good question.
I have a 2009 mercury mariner and my engine light comes on and I hooked it up to the machine and it said eat that leak a small leak. I have a rip on my gas door so could that be the problem ev leak
with never replacing the valve, just clearing the code in your car, driving, then 644 miles later the light comes on again. I would have thought that the light and code would come on again within a couple of miles of clearing the code, not hundreds of miles later.@@mcgurrentertainment
@@mcgurrentertainment thank you,, the vent valve, its the same one that he replaced, is it supposed to be closed to do the smoke test. It's not the purge valve because that is the one he uses for the smoke inlet? Just to confirm, he said that mechanic usually closes it, but it's not necessary because the car is off?
They shut the vent valve to maintain a constant pressure as well as allow only one path for the smoke to flow (ideally the leak location). When the car is off, the vent valve is open, which requires the technician to use a computer to close the valve before doing their smoke test.
@@mcgurrentertainment thank you, but that sucks for me, because I don't have a computer. And I thought connecting the smoker to the EVAP and it very simple and straightforward. But I will keep it in mind, prior to doing it.🙏

Very nice!!! Good work 👏
@@mcgurrentertainment So, what Randy did with the 4 relays is the fix recommended for the EVAP P0455 code?
No clue
Very good instructional video 👍
Great video and audio clear and sharp
Thank you very much

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! It really does mean a lot. Hopefully, the solenoid valve will be the easy-fix.
Keep me posted.

The stalling issue is troubling. I'm not sure without troubleshooting

awesome smoke machine i may use your idea when im in a jam 👍

It is difficult to say without troubleshooting
Would this make it hard to pump gas bc the pump keeps cutting off
Shouldn't
I have 2012 650i bmw I wanna change My carbon canister and leake detection pump do I need to program it after or no?
Im not sure. I'm not familiar with that BMW model.
p0456 evap issue..
09 Murano, is it purge valve or a solenoid canister etc.?
Hard to know, without troubleshooting
Can the emission test pass if code is clear, and nothing done to the vehicle.
I'm not familiar with emission tests. May need to research that one.
Mine did
What if it takes 200 miles of driving before you EVAP check engine light comes back on?
Before or after replacing the valve?

It sounds like the valve is sticking. Same code (P0455)?
P0455 code @@mcgurrentertainment
Would that also cause your gas cap light to come on?
On some vehicles, it can.
I have a code po440 97 Nissan maxima gxe U know what is the problem sir?
Not without troubleshooting
So you don't need to manually close the EVAP valve because it is already closed if the car is off?
Purge or Vent Valve? The EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve is Normally Opened (NO). The EVAP Canister Purge Valve is Normally Closed (NC).

What the code po442 means in the Nissan Frontier 2013
Not sure. But for the 2009, it's "EVAP Control System small leak detected (negative pressure)"
You do know there’s a tink called Google right
I got the same code in my 2009 maxima po455 large leak is that what yours said?
Does it match the picture from 1:00?
Yes thanks 🙏 changing that part tomorrow already ordered it
Awesome. Let me know how it turns out.
Got same car same code. Ordered part. Hopefully it works
[Crossing Fingers and Toe]

Odd. Wonder why it won't let you save it.
