    Omar I appreciate the great videos man! I have an 04 yukon denali and you've helped me out. For all you guys in the rust belt like me, always make sure your top fill bolt is removed first, if it's stripped you have no way to refill until that's dealt with.

      Will Wild glad I could help and thanks for the tip. You should always remove the fill plug first. Mine looked very clean and my car has been garage kept so I took the chance, but you should always remove the fill plug first. 👍

    Take the tip off the sprayer and carefully heat the last inch of the tube and bend it close to 90deg, now you can do trans flushes and fill xfer cases easily

    Loosen the fill plug first, before draining the fluid. After draining is a bad time to discover a seized fill plug. you won't be able to properly refill the case through the drain plug.

    Dexron III is only fluid to use in this if it is a manual transfer case. Dexron VI is not reverse compatible

    • @OmarsGarage

      Dexron VI is backwards compatible with Dexron III. You can not put put Dexron III in a newer vehicle that requires Dexon VI. I called the dealership to make sure before I did this job. • @OmarsGarage
      @OmarsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend you use whatever your manual says. It was an AWD vehicle. I had researched this at the time and talks to someone at a Cadillac dealership that said Dexron VI was better. The manual called for Dexron III I believe.

      @@OmarsGarage Interesting, thanks for response I'll investigate too. The term "transfer case" in manual seems too generic given difference between 4WD and AWD . Manual does not specifically indicate my car is a AWD, just says "transfer case" and 88861800 is identified as "manual transmission oil" . Nice job on video. I'm inclined to use ATF as you did. It’s not lock tight, it’s thread sealant. It’s just a safety measure with a high temperature sealant. I got that from my manual, and I also looked it up in the GM repair manual. Called for Dex III. I called the dealer and they told me Dex VI was an updated version of Dex III and was backwards compatible. Here is the text from the repair manual “Directions
      The following actions occur because of the planetary differential:
      •If the vehicle is on a hoist, the front propeller shaft can be rotated by hand.
      •cThe vehicle cannot be driven if one propeller shaft is removed.
      •Operating the vehicle on the hoist can damage the differential pinion gears, by over-spinning.
      •Operating the vehicle with one propeller shaft removed causes over-spinning of the differential pinion gears.
      The BW 4481 design of the planetary differential allows the use with the Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES) vehicles. The VSES takes use of the planetary differential, by applying braking to a tire that has less traction and dividing the engine torque to the other axle.
      The BW 4481 case halves are high-pressure, die-cast magnesium. Ball bearings support the input shaft, the front output shaft, and the rear output shaft. The transfer case requires DEXRON®III ATF GM P/N 12378470 (Canadian P/N 10952622), which is red in color. “
