Wow, wow. That was SO awesome. Yes, jaw drops, laughing with joy. James Brown was 100% on his game, and they both seemed so happy and honored to be singing together. Mad respect! Thanks for this request, and great reaction Angela as always. Wow.
You just heard the greatest operatic tenor of all times. May they both RIP Great performance. You should check out Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma from the 3 tenors concert. It will give you chills. There is a video from the live broadcast. Thank you Angela for reacting to this iconic collaboration!
There is an end credits backstage scene in which James said, 'I feel good!!!' This video has grown on me because this is where Pavarotti knew his time was limited due to a cancer diagnosis. He invited so many of his musical friends to sing songs with him and this is one of several. What makes Pavarotti so awesome is that even though opera is not a very wide spread music genre it is quite old-- hundreds of years in fact. He helped to popularize it in the 80s and 90s with his concerts. He also did so with the greatest tenors through a series called, *The Three Tenors.* Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti (hard ch for the c), along with conductor Zubin Meta. I watched the original and still have it on cassette tape. It was broadcasted on PBS from Rome in 1990. The greatest opera event in history up until that time. Luciano became a star beyond opera and the greatest male opera singer afterwards. I hope you would explore more of him and Placido Domingo.
Pavarotti's verse translated: Man runs the power but doesn't know great limits has to be how it will be done In his palm he holds an idea that doesn't live in his imagination… he wanted If you don't notice that then nothing makes sense if you live only for yourself
Excellent reaction and description! There's a slightly longer video of this that pans the huge audience's standing ovation and follows Luciano and James offstage and one person in the crowd there yells out to James Brown "How did it feel?" And he gives a big smile and yells back "I Feel Good!"
I just noticed you hit over 15k subs! Congratulations, and keep it up! I believe you'll go very far! Music makes everything worthwhile, and by the way, I dig this song! 1st time hearing and watching this magnificent duo! Bravissimo!
LO ÚNICO QUE SE MERECEN ESTOS DOS ASTROS DE LA MÚSICA ES EL AGRADECIMIENTO DE LA HUMANIDAD Y CERO CRÍTICAS !!! GRACIAS LUCIANO POR TODO GRACIAS JAMES POR TODO ESE GRAN TRABAJO!!!!
At this performance Luciano Pavarotti was dying of cancer. And Not only, his dad died days before…. His strength was not only in his voice. my god. This world is a better place having had James Brown.
This concert is part of a series of benefit concerts planned by Pavarotti. He always wanted to expand beyond opera, and he invited many pop stars to appear in concert with him. Ha! He just stole your heart, didn't he!!
Great reaction, Angela. Yes, they are two powerhouses. Don’t miss Pav with another legend, Elton John, when they team up to sing Live Like Horses. Another epic.
There are versions of this that show the end where the two of them embrace when the song is over and some additional footage as they go off stage that gives a great emotional ending to this great performance. Here is a link to the complete version. th-cam.com/video/GaB9F3R9cIY/w-d-xo.html
Luciano's brother had passed away that morning and he was pretty down. He kept the performance though and was lifted by the audiences reaction to him and James's duet. Class act from both.
@@merrilynhunt7819 I can only report what was said. I appreciate the info though. I'll have to look deeper into that. Have a great day and thanks again. Perhaps they were speaking of the passing of his son in childbirth? Not sure of the timing though.
@@benjamineferko1657 his mother and father both passed of pancreatic cancer in 2002. The same cancer that took him. It may be his son in childbirth since the twin Alice was 4 when he passed in 2007.
@@benjamineferko1657 I just read from another comment that his father passed 4 days prior to this, and he himself had cancer during this. I bet Pavarotti's version of Nessun Dorma would blow your mind. If you want to explore still more opera, please try Cecilia Bartoli, esp anything from her album If You Love Me.
Theres two song's you need to hear...1. You love harmonies...Pentatonix: Amazing Grace (they are an all a-capella group) 2. Styx: Show Me The Way. I've been trying to get someone to react to this song for years, with no luck. Hope you enjoy (I know you will. lol)
Good words Angela, EPIC... I've never heard this version before, never thought to put those two icons together in the same scenario. I would kindly suggest if you can react to a country song from my boy Chris Young the song is Drowning. I will Love to see you react to that music video. Keep up the good content and your fan group will keep growing. Peace & Love to everyone.
Hey, Angela! Recent new follower. Enjoying your stuff. Thought of a George Michael song I know you'll love, gospel, different from the rest you've done -- a Stevie Wonder cover: They Won't Go When I Go. Glad I've started following when you're new to a lot of the stuff coming your way -- it'll be neat to see your musical vocabularly grow. Happy New Year to you. Have a groovy day.
Another fabulous reaction to a classic. I hope you react to a modern classic. The song is IRIS by Goo Goo Dolls. You will absolutely love this song if you have not heard it yet. Here is the link to the official video th-cam.com/video/NdYWuo9OFAw/w-d-xo.html
this is so big that we don't really realize it. Now you have to check that they have a program here in the Netherlands unbelieveable duets. OMG they threw some mayonnaise over this song. they have a folk singer sing along and at the end they say he is better than james brown. Luckily he says he's not that good but really they committed a crime... Ya'll need to look it up 🥺🥺
Sure would be a good time to introduce yourself to Barbara Streisand. I recommend "Woman in Love". Generational voice like Karen Carpenter but not of the same sort.
Angela if you want to hear an even powerful voice need to react to Jim Nabors as Gomer Pyle USMC singing the impossible dream I know I had suggested this song before
