I used to be one of the mule packers and day guides at red's meadow back in 2016. I went down and saw rainbow falls multiple times a day and it was one of the best times of my life. I would very much recommend anybody to go see it out there, Its beautiful!
I went there on my Motorcycle, but they would not let me ride in. so I didn't get to see it, They keep closing the Tioga pass with reservations only through a legacy website that I have never been able to make work, so I will probably never be able to see it under those new restrictions. I hear Rainbow falls is beautiful. I was able to hike Mammoth lakes and camped at Lake Mary, which was absolutely amazing. Thanks for posting
It's hard for me to believe it has now been over 50 years since I first hiked to Devil's Postpile, but it was about ten years after that before I made the additional hike to Rainbow Falls.
Hey, Day passes to enter Devils Postpile national monument is $10 per car. In the future you may have to take a shuttle which was $8 per person. No other fees or permits needed for day hiking. Enjoy the trail!

This is an awesome video....I needed to see the trail to rainbow falls and beyond to guess if the kids could make it there. Thank you brother!
It’s a mostly flat trail but if you can’t do the whole thing you can park a bit closer to the rainbow falls rather then hike from devils Postpile
Fantastic overview, thanks!
