I could watch your videos 24/7! You are very creative and your videos are easy to follow. I've made fabric paper out of heavy white shop paper towels and acrylic paints. Love the texture and they make a great alternative to material for my Spirit dolls. Thank you again! God bless
Thank you so much for showing this technique, it's exactly what I think will be terrific for my fabric book project this year. I enjoy your videos, very well done.
Christine I have just watched most of your videos and I am so enthused with what you are making. You are very talented and an excellent teacher. What I was wondering was about the safety of sewing and cutting. I would imagine that the glue in the pieces would not be good for a sewing machine or a cutting blade, but you don’t seem to have any trouble. Does your machine suffer in any way after some time?
Hi Joyce Thank you for your lovely words. In answer to your question about my sewing machine coping with the stronger paper fabric other than change the needle sometimes it doesn’t affect it. I use my Bernina 1008 sewing machine and it copes fine. 👍🥰
Thanks Christine for your quick reply. I have heard that the Bernina is a much stronger machine for thicker materials. But I will try with mine anyway. I so want to make the things you have demonstrated.
Got some inspiration from you as always. New subscriber. I wonder how you make the different shapes of concertina books. Is there any instructions to follow? Thank you
@@tebbitttextiles2849 It is the tiny accordion book, looks like a a quarter of a circle. I think you called it a "Cosentina" book. Not sure if it is the right word you used.
I adore your work! Do you have a video out showing how you made your dolls? I see them in your introduction on the wall and just live them!! Thank you.
Hi Linda thank you for your very kind words. The dolls You saw in the video I made, following books by Jan Horrox , she has very easy to follow instructions and doll patterns in her books 🥰
Hi Lisha the paper I use for the stronger fabric paper is a plain wallpaper lining paper. It’s pretty thick and absorbs the adhesive very easily. It comes on rolls and is usually very inexpensive. Hope you can get where you are. Glad you like my channel 🥰
thank you so much for responding! It does help! I've done my Amazon order to get the PVA glue to start right away! I was looking at the wallpaper liners, and there's so many different thicknesses. I imagine that getting one that is in between thin and middle thickness is the best. @@tebbitttextiles2849
No not really as it’s just a splatter it should be fine. But if think you are going to handle it a lot you could always give it a covering with liquid acrylic medium. But I have never felt it needed that much protection. Does that make sense 😀
Hi Elizabeth Yes the felt is glued to the papers and adds a very firm structure to work with, either for a hard book cover or slips added to art work. Hope this helps x
They were made just for fun and the ones made with my fabric paper I use for keeping my embroidered pictures in. The very large one The Bayeux Tapestry I made for an exhibition and it houses all the panels I embroidered with different seance from the Tapestry. 😀

Fantastic work... sweet lady🌹🌹
If u'd allow me to say that you seem more relaxed in the videos that you film by yourself. 🙂🙂
Haha. That’s because I’m free to delete the bits I don’t like. 🥰
For the more concentrated version of your glue, what ratio of glue to water do you use for this technique?
It’s just an approximate but about 2/3 glue and 1/3 warm water. That should make it pretty stiff. Hope this helps x

You’re welcome 😊

Do you have to seal the gold foil?
No not really as it’s just a splatter it should be fine. But if think you are going to handle it a lot you could always give it a covering with liquid acrylic medium. But I have never felt it needed that much protection. Does that make sense 😀
Perfectly!
Do you leave the felt on the back?
Hi Elizabeth
Yes the felt is glued to the papers and adds a very firm structure to work with, either for a hard book cover or slips added to art work. Hope this helps x
