SNK MVS Nam 1975 Repair

Here is a repair of a SNK MVS cartridge Nam 1975. It came to me with jail bars in certain moving sprites. We cover ROM ID, how to set up to test the individual boards that make up the cartridge, cart assembly boards and how I found the problem! Another one saved!!

Been working on a 2 slot and the exact same 4 slot as you have there last weeks. 2 slot had massive battery damage, and some of the custom chips damaged, waiting on parts for that one. The 4 slot had several of the buffer ic’s broken (weird). With the help of the diagnostic rom and the unibios I did get that one working. If you need help for signal comparison to my working board just let me know. There is no schematic for it so not the easiest board to work on.

Hey! good to know. I'll let you know when I get into it. not even sure what's all wrong with it yet. I'm guessing battery damage at least. That's cool you got yours going. I don't have my diag chip here and will have to burn one for sure.

What do you mean by Sprite Generation or Sprite Degeneration? what can cause sprite generation issues in the graphics?
