  • Flow XCRacer loaded up at 3/4 of it's weight range. The trim speed of this wing is 21kn/39kmh, when the glider is up 50 pct speedbar is applied and the glider flies off at walking pace. without speedbar it would hover in place at 21kn.
    Some people do not understand what the guy is doing "holding" the harness from behind. He is a redundancy, a safety back up. He doesn't actually apply any force, he is mirroring the movements of the pilot, following him, not slowing him down, not pulling, he is there if something goes wrong. Which in this case, nothing went wrong, so if he wasn't there the take off would be exactly the same.
    Its the same with reserves no? You carry one every time you fly, you don't throw it every time do you? But its there if you need it.

    As another poster mentions clearly the wind speed (at wing height so it would be typically less at ground level) is clearly a reasonable amount below 'trim speed' (typical trim = 20kts = 24mph = 38km/h = 10 m/s) personally I wouldn't guess as low as 13, perhaps nearer to 15-16kts range, certainly no need for assistance! That all said it was a nice smooth launch 🙂

      @AvengerIl  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Trim speed of that wing is 21kn.. 39kmh..(Flow XcRacer) typical trim of most wings is at 35kmh... Speedbar is immediately applied to 50pct hence the wing flies off at walking pace..without it it would hover in place at it's trim speed of 21kn. Guy wasn't assisting just backup.

    • @AvengerIl
      @AvengerIl  ปีที่แล้ว

      Top speed on bar of this wing is around 30knots..

    • @ParaglidingScotland
      @ParaglidingScotland ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally own about forty paragliders, a couple of the 'historic' wings (80's and early 90's) have slower trim (34-36km/h), a few have faster trim (40km/h) but the vast majority trim around 37-38.

    • @AvengerIl
      @AvengerIl  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ParaglidingScotland interesting... ! The 10wings I've flown seem to be a bit slower than that on trim with the exception of Flow fusion and xcracer... Their polar has been shifted somewhat.
      Xcmag has this to say in general about speeds... xcmag.com/magazine-articles/how-fast-does-it-go-testing-paraglider-speeds/
      Regardless, 50pct bar on xcracer is close to 50kmh I would risk saying. And that's what it took to move forward in this scenario. Please not the immediate application of bar to move forward.
      I have been caught out in 28knots recently and that took close to full bar to move forward...
      The 13kn guy is not being genuine I think we can agree on that...
      Cobra launch with 2 liners is exceptionally suited to taking off in very strong conditions, it's nothing to brag about it's just routine.
      If it was 16 knots I would happily take off on an enB wing, but this day I would fly away over the back like a plastic bag if I jad attempted that.. I have another video of 16kn take off on an enb...sound is different etc..

      I find focusing on one brake and one A riser helps me bring up cobra nicely. The other brake being clipped in has less chance of getting entangled somewhere. Works for me.

    Ug, you really want to get SUPER training so you can get all the pieces of glider control correct. You are literally weightshifting backwards making it 10 times harder on yourself. If you simply did it correctly all the load would go away and you wouldn't need other people getting drug behind you. You were simply doing it wrong and backwards. Take SUPER training and your skills will jump to a level very few acting as instructors even comprehend.

    • @AvengerIl

      @@AvengerIl The lie doesn't work though after posting evidence showing the opposite. You literally are weight shifting backwards making it 50 times harder than it actually would be with proper training. Naturally you are oblivious to this fact but if you actually use some rational thought process you could actually try to correct techniques. They would work instantly and the fact that they work would allow you to instantly know that you didn't actually receive proper training let alone uber training. Up to you if you don't care about truth or your life. It's only my moral obligation to share the facts. Up to you if you want to ignore the facts that would help you drastically.

    • @DellSchanze
      @DellSchanze 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AvengerIl Ah yea weight shifting backwards, holding onto people wrong because they don't have proper skills to do it themselves and loading the glider wrong is all "training".... You can react irrationally or you can actually try the perfected techniques and see instantly that they work with HUGE results. The second you turn left even a bit the drag and load of the glider would just disappear and you would no longer need people hanging onto you. In fact it works so well you could literally bring it up sideways all completely with no hands on the brakes for control. Or you can just talk trash and ignore facts from actual experts who's students can do what your instructor can't. It's silly and illogical but that's how some of you are. It's the way it goes.
