    Good video, good camera work, good energy, good topic. Your content is very good, 1 viral video and you will get the subscriber train rolling. 1 thing to add is that I noticed you dont get dumped like I do in strong winds because you are able to stay directly under the wing. I need to figure that out because the grass is WAY harder IRL than it is in videos.

    God bless you friend for stepping out there in a 20 mile an hour wind to show us all there is a way. I just started paragliding my mom died left me enough money to scratch together and buy a used epsilon 9. It looks like a circus tent flying through the sky 40 mouths like Mick Jagger gobbling wind to inflate the cells. I was trying to kite the epsilon 9 in a 10 mile an hour wind. I was kind of doing okay and then all of a sudden I found myself laying on the ground face down 15 ft away from where my feet had been standing on the ground and it was starting to drag me. It only drug me three or four feet, I had it shut down that quick thank God. I live in the devil's bowels for miserable poor flying. There is a flat River bottom and a bunch of hills in rows.. the speed gradient is going to be brutal coming down out of the sky in an area like this. I'm old and poor, if I'm going to fly I'm going to have to get the skills to pay the bills. I watch one video about landing that was 5 minutes long. I watched it 20 times at least. I'm going to watch you 20 times on this video at least. I had resigned myself to being drug beating slapped abused by the relationship between the sky and the ground while I'm trying to make the transition from walking on ground and flying in air and flying in air to walking on ground. You give me great hope.

      Is there any benefit to trying harder? Its all about great planning and execute the plan you prefer, i like it smooth and easy, especially with the tandem glider in high winds there is only one way to inflate it

    • @alex-in-the-sky
      @alex-in-the-sky ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@minyardmatt absolutely true! I'm training ground handling on a much higher aspect ratio wing than the one I'm flying so it's not as effortless because it's wingtip is much more tricky to control in backfly without it collapsing or stalling (it's an Alpina 4). Will try again next time with more of your technique and important details as is hips orientation and walk direction etc

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alex-in-the-sky i fly a lot of high end gliders also and yes you have to stare at the tip and the closed cells the most and everything else will follow, quick to release to keep the tip pressurized, generally hands are a lot higher with those wings.. the key is shifting the hips and the feet before contacting the brake

    • @alex-in-the-sky
      @alex-in-the-sky ปีที่แล้ว

      @@minyardmatt thanks for the advice, really appreciated. What do you mean exactly by hands are higher? Yes the closed cells... Also the brake tends to act more on the center of the wing on such a wing so it's quite difficult to inflate the tip at all in backfly...

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very nice, tips for me are to enjoy your wing and learn all of it's behaviors like any wing, with enough altitude first + a clear head!

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Another unique thing about the BAJA is that it's a totally new shape, unlike any other beginner wing I have ever seen, it can penetrate plenty of winds with the trimmers at / near the bottom.. it takes off slow and provides nice lift, and also GAINZ sooooo much speed, making it a great one choice wing for beginners that won't get boring and feel super slow with! Excellent choice wing to begin your PPG journey with! First class materials will make it last as long as you need it to, honestly you nailed it choosing that as your first wing! Take it from me, ten years down the line of being obsessed with everything that flies, this wing is newer tech than any paragliding / paramotor crew has by far!

    • @JoshuaMarshPPG
      @JoshuaMarshPPG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. Yeah I realized it can penetrate wind when I was doing 38mph ground with only about a 5-10 tail wind. That was set at neutral also. Thanks for the tips and advice. 3 flights and going.

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JoshuaMarshPPG great feedback to hear from an UN biased new pilot! I can agree with you about the sensation of using this beginner wing is very unique compared with models in the same beginner class, this one will serve you well! We are finding out that most pilots want to fly a wing that is quite dangerous and out of their league, yet they do it to look cool, now we can look cool ( stylish when we fly ) and also keep a high level of passive safety especially when you find some strong winds out of nowhere :) fly safe my friend

    i call your video BLASPHEMY! 🤣 but hear me out: i am flying a APCO karisma EN-A 31meter for paramotor. i see you at 5:30min grabbing the whole rear riser and your wing folds mid air like nothing.
    i tried that last time while kiting too at around 4-5m/s winds. impossible!
    if the wing is up and even on fastest trim setting - that thing stays up. it feels you try pulling down a rock solid wall. i pulled the whole riser with everything i got. wing comes down about half and goes straight back up. risers at that point are beside my knees. i cant pull any deeper. what am i doing wrong?
    i also tested to pull B to fold it right i the middle. no success here either. the surface area on such a big wing is just too much and even half deflated this wing will drag you. i was holding on with dear life that day. barely made it to collapse and run towards to throw myself on it. 🤪

    That is between 9 and 11 mph of wind. Not even remotely close to 20 or he would get his butt handed to him as he doesn't have much skill or all the understanding of how to properly control his glider. There are so many things he just doesn't know and technique he doesn't have because he has never had any proper training himself. If he were in true 20 mph wind he would get utterly destroyed. Gliders don't just sit there when you try to bring them down in 20 mph of wind. They would be flapping violently and not want to stay on the ground or still for even a second. That is very mild calm total beginner wind at SUPER training not high winds. I really should do a video pointing out the many things he just doesn't know he doesn't know and how to do it properly in real actual 20 mph wind. This is what high winds actually looks like. You can't stand up almost straight like Matt was doing but have to must every single ounce of your weight on that seatboard that is possible or you will immediately get drug: th-cam.com/video/Yspke0XXXFg/w-d-xo.html notice the wind is so strong you can even see the clothing flapping.

      I remember when I was on the come up and you started shit talking me in 2014, in fact I'm probably the only dude who's always saying how skilled superdell is at flying but he would be great if he didn't have some old ass flat top gear and an out of current production like all of your kit.. literally your wing supplier asks me why you are still ordering that wing which was discontinued 14 years ago... You are a joke my guy you are not even considered to be in the game anymore as of the past ten years! Give it up bro, you are wasting your time here challenging me, I will smoke you in every discipline there ever was at flying and I could do it tomorrow morning or anyday anywhere you can name it! Officially you gave your business to Trevor and after allllll of your knowledge he is asking me for advice ! Yeah he asks me, so Don't act like you are knowledgeable when you are not even familiar with what's going on these days, when you are not flying to Europe or 30+ countries to fly, when you are not doing airshows, you are not doing shit at all these days and you were a joke for the past ten years straight @dell schanze

      @@minyardmatt My wife and I ordered a Flat Top paramotor April 3, 2023 only to find out later that the Flat Top was no longer in production. He did not tell us at the time of order that they were no longer in production and that he had nothing to sell. He stole almost $10,000 including money for a reserve parachute and shipping costs from us. He states that he will not issue a refund. He is deleting my customer inquiries on his Facebook page and has shadow-banned me on his TH-cam channel. This has been my introduction into this hobby and now I cannot even fly due to this man and his dishonesty. I just want to take the time to let everyone who might be contemplating doing business with this man to beware. I would recommend staying away from him and saving yourselves a lot of money and trouble. I sincerely hope this helps someone out there to avoid what we're going through. Try hard to find someone reputable and do your homework first.

But that's making it easy for me to be professional if I have to complete with crooks! If you need any support I have it for you 24-7/365
