Doom 3 feels like half life 2 flesh addition to me... gives off the exact same vibe inter dementia portal opens up to a dif demontion filled with baddies that try to take over the earth.

Do you have any plans to do a simple TAS of D3? Maybe not using save states but just slow the game down so you have perfect accuracy and whatnot? There is an incomplete TAS of this game on TH-cam but I figure you're the best at this game so I'd ask if you're interested.
Honestly, your suggestion is not a bad idea. I have done a segmented speedrun of RoE and that was a really fun project. I looked up the TAS and it seems like someone was not really looking to be fast in it 😀. I don't think I will be doing that though. Too much real life stuff going on. It also might be a bit pointless since you can do a lot of crazy shit in a normal-speed segmented run. Check out Kibumbi. i dont even know metro games 😀 bfg edition has faster movement than org doom 3. other than that, i got high fov which makes it look faster and i do decent bunnyhops and strafejumps.
I mostly get in the enemy's face to make the spread itself almost not matter. I also only use the shotty for imps, maggots and enemies that give you enough leeway so you can miss a little and still kill.
How were you able to bypass the cutscenes in BFG without using mods? I would love to try the strategies you did, this game was such a big thing growing up, and seeing you crushing it is super inspiring!
I did use a sourceport called RBDoom3BFG. It doesn't change the game in any way other than makes cutscenes skippable and allows some more graphical tweaks. In Alpha Labs 3, why not just press the button that automatically discards the barrel of waste once you have it secured in the claw? Is it more efficient to maneuver the toxic waste into the incinerator manually?
Because the button maneuvers the crane above the incinerator and then all the way back to its initial position. Even if it did work, it would not save any time, though. You have to wait anyways.

Is the bfg edition level layout on pc the same as the regular doom 3 version on pc? Because i just played thru the original xbox version and the layouts seem quite different.
Regular Doom 3 and BFG edition have the same layouts. Doom 3 for the original xbox has a slightly different layout along with missing levels because the console just couldn't handle all of Doom 3

Not good enough to actually speedrun the game, but triggering that glitch was hilarious. I do love how the character model was carrying an actual BFG, not just a prop. Didn’t have to go through that effort, but id did it anyways.
If you don't count the running I did in 2019 and 2020, this year it only took 108 attempts. But before that I played Resurrection of Evil so I was quite warmed up.
@@Sequoia01 It would be interesting but I really don't know how to do that and I am not sure if you could manipulate enemy movement enough to have them do something every time like in Doom and Doom 2. Although, I am currently working on a segmented speedrun for Resurrection of Evil Nightmare on vanilla and that is going to be pretty clean.

Especially in the original game where the flashlight/torch is a standalone piece of equipment that can’t be used simultaneously with other weaponry.

It probably just seems faster because of decent movement, high fov and 60fps. When I play, it feels slower than when I watch the run later.

I think on the Xbox version the levels were chopped up into more levels because of the hardware limitations.

Invisible walls were added there in the BFG edition. You could do it in vanilla though.

You can't. We speedrun on a sourceport called RBDoom3BFG that allows skipping cutscenes.
