  • Finished in Salisbury Blue with Magnolia hide interior and equipped with 5 speed manual transmission. Brutish and yet elegant, this late model V8 Vantage ‘X-pack’, was ordered and delivered new via Nicholas Mee, to its first long-term enthusiast owner in August 1989, one month before V8 and V8 Vantage production ended permanently.
This rare Vantage is one of only 82 UK specification ‘X-pack’ Vantage Coupe’s built, equipped from new with the desirable 5 speed manual gearbox and finished in Salisbury Blue. Only 5 examples were similarly specified. The V8 Vantage model, a legend of its day, is a potent cocktail of British engineering and craftsmanship, which has become coveted and collected by enthusiasts globally, no doubt for its dynamic performance, it’s consummate ground covering ability and air-conditioned comfort. Developed over a 12-year production period, the late ‘X-pack’ Vantage was available only for the last 3 years of Vantage production, 1986-89.
The example we are delighted to offer, retained for some 15 years and over 42,000 miles by its first owner, received a rigorous maintenance and servicing regime carried out by former West Midlands, Aston Martin main agents Chapman Spooner Ltd, continued under the stewardship of manager Andre Bloom, after the closure of Chapman Spooner.
Changing hands firstly in 2004 and subsequently in 2007, routine servicing, comprehensive maintenance and upgrades, have all been carried out by Aston Martin specialist engineers Rikki Cann of Kent, including established and desirable upgrades fitted to the suspension and a full engine rebuild to 5.7 ltr capacity. This superb ‘X-pack’ Vantage, now delivering 450 bhp, drives superbly with exceptional engine performance and road holding. Enjoyed and driven by the last and only 5th owner, on two European tours and on occasional weekend trips, the total mileage covered is now 57,000 miles. Maintenance during the last ownership has been carried out annually by Aston Service London and when not in use, this car has been professionally stored in a climate-controlled environment.
Contained within the cars substantial and detailed history files, are all invoices for maintenance and services carried out, along with detailed descriptions of all maintenance and upgrade works completed. Also included, is the original owners handbook and service voucher book recording its annual services and a copy of the manufacturers build sheet, confirming the cars original specifications.
Supplied with the car is the originally supplied tool roll, vehicle jack, warning triangle and spare keys.
Christened ‘Britain’s first Supercar’ when launched, the V8 Vantage was developed continuously and sold in only limited territories, not including the USA, to where this model can now be imported.
    + 5 owners from new
+ Comprehensive service history from new
+ 10k miles since professional engine rebuild & upgrade
+ All original equipment, books, tools and jack.
Available for viewing and demonstration now at our Hertfordshire showrooms.

We have a 1988 vantage volante with x pack. The car has starting issues when it’s warm. Is Vapor lock a known problem on these?

Question: If the car was supplied new by your company in 1989 how come the handbook states that Nicholas Mee were established in 1993? Just thought I'd ask

The car was supplied by Nicholas Mee whilst in his role running Aston Martin’s sales operation in London. If you are interested, we published a full length interview with Nick and Steve Wakefield, in December 2022 where they covered Nick’s career selling Aston Martins. You will find it on our channel. Thanks for watching!

Sorry folks, I can't shake the feeling that this is a late 60's Ford Mustang made in the UK...

Good for you. There’s no Ford badge for a start, but perhaps it’s the four wheels; Ford Mustangs have four wheels too.

You are not far off. The designer (William Towns) admitted the mustang inspired this series. That being said this is a much better version.

@@spartanp2064where does it say he admitted that ? This car was originally the dbs6 launched in 67 , so designed before that when the mustang was like the 66 shelby fastback and not like this . Its got twin round lights at front , that's about the only similarity other than that . The 67 type mustang looks similar but the Aston was designed first
