Maybe I'm old but, this generation of Astons appeals so much more than modern cars. An armchair to recline in and a load of grunt from the engine bay. Dials a plenty and no touch screens to frustrate. Utterly gorgeous. Thanks for the video.
I've owned a mid-70's Aston V8 for 20 years now, and the single best upgrade was converting the automatic transmission (which many of them had) to a Tremec 6-speed. It transformed the car from a leisurely boulevard cruiser to serious British muscle. Anyways, 20 years later and the love affair continues unabated. What can I say...These are really awesome cars!
The 1980 V8 Vantage with that blocked off front grill/rally lights is epic. The recent $1.5billion lottery had me dreaming of a DB4 GT Zagato. Love the old Astons.
You should get one, the lightly modified / modernised black one with tan interior is lovely. Keep up the content on this type of car and the 911 restoration, variety is great and helps broaden your audience.
Tom I’m surprised you haven’t got one already. I live in Massachusetts and they love AM’s over here. Get one asap and do the resto. Would make great content
This is brilliant! There ìs a Bond theme here. The DB2/4 Mk III spotted paint off having body work done, is actually the only Aston model to feature in the books (in Goldfinger), whilst the DBS features in the film of On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Mate this suits you so well. DBS of this era are definitely overlooked and if sorted can be a very rewarding drive and that rumbling V8 wow. I would still love to see you back in an Aston as I loved your Vantage AMR. Great stuff Tom
This was so good! What an amazing company and it’s so cool to see older Aston’s. I love the classic content more Please as some of it reminds me of when I was a kid and growing up.
I love the blue interior mate, I'd have that in a heart beat. The black resto really is a nice bit of kit, seats look like lounge chairs lol. Could see you rolling up to a cars and coffee with the wife, dogs in the back.
I grew up with the V8 Vantage, and lusted after the V8 Vantage Volante PofW ..... the perfect Aston 80's car. PofW was a limited run of a car that was spec by the Prince of Wales hence PofW
You've either got a door not shut or a problem with the interior lights as the interior light switch (which is on the bank by the ignition key) is not switched down, but the lights are on.
These Astons were my poster cars as a kid. The later Aston Vantage 550/600 are my dream cars! Cheers Tom, John. (late 60's DB5''s S/H were around £1500!).
Was walking around some random garages today while I got my tyres replaced, spotted a few nice porsche including a very nice brown one with a recogniseable number plate. Was a nice surprise
Superb classic cars. But like any classic you have to recognise that these expensive cars are now well beyond their design life and even the best original car will require significant deconstructive refurbishment just to preserve them. So massive disassembly is essential. And these cars are a composite alloy steel construction which adds another difficult dimension.
About time you looked at a British classic if not DBS why not a series 3 jenson interceptor .. Chicane do awesome work any Aston Martin owner should seek them out
Am I wrong for believing that as we get more and more into EVs the classics market is going to explode? I can’t think of anything new I’d just need to have if I had the money, but I can think of 10 classics I’d gladly splurge on if I had the money.
Lovely cars and a great drive. One point of order though: Utter balls about these being a good investment and being at the bottom of the curve. They were £15k at one point, the price is softening if anything.
12K views, 444 thumbs up, (at time of writing) what is wrong with people 😡 Top quality content Tom, can't go wrong with an Aston Classic, keep up the good work mate!!
Personally I would pass on those older Aston’s and get a Virage 6.3 wide body they look perfect with the OZ wheels and Nardi steering wheel not to mention 500bhp 👌
It's quite an achievement for someone to pull off two such remarkable feats for the same video, which underscores the unmistakable prestige of your channel. If you like it, buy it. Whether it's an old one updated for modernity or one that's identical to the factory model, it will cater to your personal taste. Neither of the choices will be wrong, just as evident by Jay Leno, who readily embraces both
If it brings joy and you can afford it, why not? Edit: and yes, most of the people complaining about ULEZ are exempt for one reason or another. The big issue are pre-dieselgate vans, and some cars from the 90s.
The DB7 saved Aston Martin Company from going bankrupt. Sadly all Porsche 911's look the same, all McLarens look the same and all Aston Martins since the DB7 was launched look the same.
Tom I know your not a biker but you should get into it. Have a look at thornton hundred bobber you will love them.. Take your brother I'm sure he would love a go on 1. Very popular with celebs.
A bit of a surprise this evening! Amazing place & cars - check the guys at Chicane out here chicane.am

100% the restored one fits like a glove 🤘😎🤘
I love that you’re giving this type of stuff air time. I think there is room for the ultra modern stuff alongside classics. Kudos!
Always a good day when Aston Martin Content is uploaded 😍
Absolutely
The 1980 V8 Vantage with that blocked off front grill/rally lights is epic. The recent $1.5billion lottery had me dreaming of a DB4 GT Zagato. Love the old Astons.
Yes 100% suits you.. I cannot believe how good that powder blue interior looks. Never in a month of Sundays would you spec that..
I love classic Aston’s especially the original V8 vantage. Absolute cash. Get one Tom! Also put on a seat belt lad 😂
Love those Aston's, I am a boomer so I will always drool at these.
THEY HAVE A DB (DAVID BROWN) TRACTOR GEARBOX.
THEY ARE LIKE DRIVING
A VERY FAST TANK.
A CATERHAM 7 FOR ME ANY TIME.
ABSOLUTEMENT.

Loved this one. Loving the vintage AMs
Can’t beat a old classic Aston 👏🏻
Great watch, beautifully restored cars ... Can't beat the classic Astons. Chicane is the very best!
Yes Tom..... DBS V8 and DB4 were 2 of the best classics i bought..... amazing cars and something really special in a world of boring supercars!
That DB5 is going to be CASH!
This is brilliant! There ìs a Bond theme here. The DB2/4 Mk III spotted paint off having body work done, is actually the only Aston model to feature in the books (in Goldfinger), whilst the DBS features in the film of On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Great content. Thank you Mr E. Keep it coming.

Love the classic content, not even seen the video yet and know it’s going to be a banger! Good to see you in my neck of the woods as well 👍
Appreciate it. Thank you!
I love the 80s AM v8 vantage and the 70s dbs, both are proper gents cars but the vantage was the poster car in my teens!
This was so good! What an amazing company and it’s so cool to see older Aston’s. I love the classic content more
Please as some of it reminds me of when I was a kid and growing up.

What a place, wonderful video Mr E well done

Haha - hope it was ok!
I luv old Aston Martins
My favourite Aston

I think you need one and in an atypical color😎
Love this❤❤❤
That black DBS is sensational 👌
Agreed!
About time you looked at a British classic if not DBS why not a series 3 jenson interceptor .. Chicane do awesome work any Aston Martin owner should seek them out
Of all cars in the world this is the One I want
👏👏👏
Amazing video Tom loved it
A really interesting video Thank you very much TGE
Astons are lovely. New and old. But a classic Aston bug can get really expensive. Before you know it you’ll be wanting a Vantage.
Superb,Nice One Tom👍😉💪
I think you look great channeling Timothy Dalton from 007. Now can they fit outrigger skis and sidewinder missiles? Chaos. 😂
I really enjoy the variety on your channel, Tom. Great content thank you
2 awesome cars !! (and good to see you put seatbelt on )
Am I wrong for believing that as we get more and more into EVs the classics market is going to explode? I can’t think of anything new I’d just need to have if I had the money, but I can think of 10 classics I’d gladly splurge on if I had the money.
Yup new cars don’t do it for me, too much technology, the only exception is like a Cayman GT4 RS
Nice car. The brown interior is more nice and look luxury
By the way I’m a Britt and I grew up with a Nabour who had a DB5. It was the best fun when he would take me out for a spin
Lovely cars and a great drive. One point of order though:
Utter balls about these being a good investment and being at the bottom of the curve.

There are no visible that sound as good as that
Not in the slightest bit bothered about these cars, still watched the whole thing, ads included. Woof.
Have a great weekend, mate!
You too!
Oh my word those interiors are😱 You need one mate!
It looks like art on wheels 👌
Lord Sinclair's car❤
Absolute cash. You looked pretty great in it but i dont think i have ever seen a more Ianthe car!!
She can’t drive a manual - so these are safe from her mitts! 😂
Seatbelt ?
Not in some old cars
12K views, 444 thumbs up, (at time of writing) what is wrong with people 😡 Top quality content Tom, can't go wrong with an Aston Classic, keep up the good work mate!!
Publicly viewable view count lags behind! It’s higher in real time!
it is not top quality comment, he hasnt got a clue what he is talking about
Its definitley you Tom !!
Hi tge, this was chaos both cars r stunning.
Want!
#cash 👌
I think you need a classic Aston for wafting around in me laddie 👍
what a workshop eh…..what’s your thoughts on a DBS Superleggera Tom?
Love them!
That brown colour on the DBS would suit the 912 really well. Just saying. 😁
Stop it!
When can we have some more "watch chat", I appreciate you're a busy chap, anyway all the best to you.👍👍👍
Personally I would pass on those older Aston’s and get a Virage 6.3 wide body they look perfect with the OZ wheels and Nardi steering wheel not to mention 500bhp 👌
love the 6.3 wide body virage, they used to be so cheap as well
absolutely cash

The DBS look good, but they would look better in red or dark blue.
If it brings joy and you can afford it, why not?

I think that era of car being driven around by a young ish guy stinks of cash compared to driving a modern day super car more sophisticated .
Proper want for the brown DBS
Tom I know your not a biker but you should get into it. Have a look at thornton hundred bobber you will love them.. Take your brother I'm sure he would love a go on 1. Very popular with celebs.
Seat belt
Yes?
It’s optional in an Aston mate
Also watch the full vid
CASH😊
I recognise the door opening catch. Damn annoys me; can't remember where from.
Get one.
Nice old cars....but the Austin Maxi door handles (inside)........shite!
Obviously you can afford one, but they are complicated and expensive to run, not just the fuel consumption of 12-15 MPG.
So beautiful
you are wrong re the generation who want these coming into money . this car is too old for that
100%. It’s nonsense
Glas to hear you like leather. So you are not a vegan zealot
No way you're finding a DBS V8 for 50k in the states that's NOT a project car lol
Or here in the UK. His advice is ludicrous. He’s driving a £250k car and talking about £50k. A joke.
Not content unless there’s TGE content
