i hope that guy recovers and rides again! I crashed hard at Leb a few days ago - dented my helmet to the point where it needs to be replaced. Be careful out there!
Dumb question I'm sure but whatever.. at a place like elm creek is the flow of traffic regulated in terms of which direction you ride the trail? So there aren't people going downhill towards people that are climbing? Or do you just have to watch out for people going opposite to you? Seems like at some places the trails are directional but I'm wondering if that's true most places or just pretty hardcore and dedicated mtb trails/bike park
All trail systems are different, but almost all metro trails (including Elm Creek) are one way traffic. Cuyuna is almost all one way. A lot of trails in Duluth are two way, so you have to stay alert in that regard. Good news is that trails are generally marked well, and there are apps like Trailforks or MTB Project that help.

Things can happen quickly out there. Hope you’re doing well. Hoping that guy made a full recovery too, he was dinged up for sure.
