    I love what you've done with your bike. Definitely a bunch of mods I would have done for myself as well. Changing out the bars is something that'll really transform the way a bike will feel, and it's awesome when you find the one that fits your riding perfectly. Bike is looking great, nice video.

      Thanks!
      I'll probably keep dialing in all the adjustable parts for a while, but this bike definitely fits me so much better than when I first got it. It's been a fun journey.
      P.S. Damn you've been vlogging for a long time. Keep it up!

    Firstly Bro, Awsome Videos Man! I just subbed the other day because I Freaking love Ducatis Monster series of Bikes.. . And The overall quality of your videos are really good! And Im not talking about the picture quality, Im talking about basically what your doing in your videos and what your talking about.... Which is all about the Ducati Monsters Broskii !! Im about to get one as my first Bike... specifically either the 821 or the New 2017 797 thats coming out, Im leaning more towards the 821 and honestly the only things Im choosing from between the two are Air-cooled or Liquid-Cooled !! I like both.... But I like the Liquid-Cooled look of the 821 the Most!!! Anywayzz Dude...... Thanks for sharing Broskii, Please keep the videos coming And Everytime you put new parts on, Please Film the work and review.. of course

    Bike is looking good. That bar looks great and really cleans up the front end. Rearsets are badass!
    Question - which tank stickers are those and what size? I got some but they don't look that big. They looks awesome on your bike.

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man!
      I really love those bars, especially paired with the rearsets. It totally transforms the riding ergonomics.
      The stickers are 6" and I got them from Amazon here:
      amzn.to/2aE5aeu
      They're about the same size of the original Ducati logo, but I'm debating getting 8" or bigger logos and positioning them more centered on the tank.

    • @HoldFastFilms
      @HoldFastFilms 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are the ones I got too. They seemed small but they look good on your tank. I agree, 8" might look even better.

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Hold Fast 8" with the old logo would look silly, but I think it would make a nice statement with the retro one.
      I'm actually planning on talking to a local vinyl wrap shop about doing some white stripes and wrapping my forks black. I'll see what they think about a bigger logo and positioning.

    Looks great Nathan. You didn't mention the new tank logos though! Look just the mock up I did? Did you clear coat over them too?

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No there's nothing over them. I wasnt positive what size I wanted to go with and where to position it, so I wanted the option of changing easily.
      Currently I have a 6" decal, but I think I might switch it for an 8".

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's probably worth waiting for MotoDynamic to finish their product revision. I had to wait for them to release it originally as I bought my bike before the first version launched.
      I don't think any other option looks is as good, and most of them are far more expensive.

    Rear reservoir looks not closed properly.

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks that way because there's a little rubber gasket inside that keeps air out of the reservoir. Sometimes it gets a little crooked and looks like the cap is on wrong, but it's not.

  • @Draugstafur
    @Draugstafur 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great videos brother! Question: Installing the Ducabike pegs, was it tricky?

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it's definitely a good idea to take it slow and have some experience wrenching on things, but you certainly don't need to be a mechanic. It's trickier than most bolt on projects, but I think a lot of people could do it just fine.
      There's a video floating around on TH-cam of the full install. I would watch that before seriously considering it.

  • @Minerva___
    @Minerva___ 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Nathan,
    love the bike and you helped me decide on the CW exhaust. Question on the Rizoma Drag bar: Does it make your body position more aggressive? I only assume so as the bars are now lower and it would seem like you would be leaning forward a bit more. I posted this on the ducati.org forum as well but I'm trying to get more comfort out of the bike for a long ride (for me, 300mi roundtrip) that I've got coming up soon. Any info would be appreciated!

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You naturally definitely lean forward a bit more but I've found there's still not a lot of pressure on your wrists. If I'm cruising for a while I'll often just use one hand, which lets you lean back much farther.
      For highway riding, I think the drag bars are more comfortable personally. The amount you lean forward for me makes the wind hold up your body almost perfectly at around 80 mph without feeling like you're fighting it at all.

    • @Minerva___
      @Minerva___ 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to hear. Did you install them yourself or have a dealership install them? I understand there's some drilling that needs to occur and I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that just yet, haha.
      I'm trying to eliminate this elbow pain I have so I'm hoping it does just that. Also looking at the touring seat as my ass is pretty tender, lol.

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I installed them myself. It takes about two hours but it's not terribly difficult.
      Your controls have metal pins on them to make sure it's impossible for them to rotate once they're on the bar. You have two choices when you install a new bar, drill holes in the bar to fit those pins, or use a Dremel to remove the pins.
      I opted to remove the pins and use a strip of electrical tape to give the controls something to bite down on. I talked to a local Ducati tech and they said they often do the same thing, the pins aren't strictly necessary.

    Where did you purchase your ducabike adjustable rearsets? After seeing your video, I'm definitely looking to purchase it here in the next few days. (Also, the wife is going to be out of town for two weeks so... perfect time to slide it in there without her noticing!)

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got mine from Belissimoto. I know that Motowheels sells them as well. I would call around and verify that someone has them in stock before ordering because Ducabike can take a while to ship them from Italy.

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My bike is my primary way of getting to work everyday and I need it to start every morning, rain or shine. Other than the one time I left the parking lights on, that's never been an issue.
      If you leave the charcoal canister on, it can be a bit stubborn starting when it's really hot out, but that's easily removed. My dealer did it under warranty when I said it took two or three tries to start sometimes.
      Overall, it's been totally reliable for me.

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have a couple options for the front suspension. You can either replace the front fork entirely, which is pretty expensive, or you can replace the fork cartridge, which is more affordable.
      Andreani and a few other companies have cartridge kits available already and I've head they make a huge difference in performance. Most kits are also adjustable so that you can get dialed in for your specific height and weight.

    Hey!
    How much lower is the rizoma drag bar compared to the the original one? I‘m looking for a way to lower the front a bit.

    • @NathanRJones
      @NathanRJones  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It definitely puts your hands down and back about an inch and a half or so.
      You have to support yourself with your core muscles more, as this position naturally puts a little more weight on your wrists. Other than that, I find it way more confidence inspiring. It's a more athletic, aggressive position.

    • @SeldomMiracLe
      @SeldomMiracLe 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nathan Jones Awesome. I like the bike a lot but the original setup is not as sporty as I want it to be.
      Did you have to change everything that was mounted originally due to the different diameter of the bar, too?

      @NathanRJones  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      There's definitely lots of choices for fancy bling or alterations to just stand out more, but I've tried to make everything tasteful and functional.
      I like to think this is how Ducati would make the bike if they didn't have to deal with a million regulations about turn signal size or fender length or exhaust noise and any of the things the have to comply with to stay legal.

    • @aboodz

      I know! These regulations are quite annoying! I've been considering the new gen monsters for my next bike, but I'm really put off by three things: Ride by Wire throttle (I hate it; it ruins engine breaking), the extra weight and wheel base, and it sounds like they ruined the engine character by tuning it more for higher RPM, instead of the beautiful mid range of the previous gen. What do you think? I used to have an '09 696 and it was perfect!

      I've found that this bike had much better fueling than my 696 before it. I had a ton of issues when my engine wasn't warmed up on my 696.
      There's also substantially more power on the 821. It has more power down low and in the mid range, and way more power up high. It's definitely not a regression by any means.
      Also, I engine brake all the time. If you have the riding mode set to Urban or Touring, there's definitely more lag than I'm happy with. However, in Sport it's very responsive.
      The biggest downside I've seen is that it's noticeably bigger and heavier and the rear passenger pegs make it more difficult to move around the bike.

      Thanks for replying again, Nathan! I'm glad to hear that the new gen is a step forward. I think you've persuaded me, and maybe I should reconsider. Hopefully I'll have enough saved up for one within a year. Austin riders are the coolest ;) \m/

      I considered it.
      I liked the build quality of the Rizoma products better and I ride quite a bit so the ergonomics of the drag bar made more sense for me.
