Hope it's a while yet Tim, but with the death recently of Jeff Beck time is indeed ticking away for all of us, met and chatted to Albert a few times in the early 00's, every time he played Ireland one of his shows was at The Bridge Hotel Tullamore, just a few mile from where I live, couldn't believe he'd play to only couple hundred people every time, apart from been the wizard he is such a humble guy as well with no ego🎸🎸💎🔥🌟
@@donhanlon7121 I met him at a guitar fair in Exeter, Devon at about the same time. Just strolling around the aisles along with the rest of us punters. Yes a super talented and humble man. I doidn't know he played keyboard either.
@@CornishCockneyYeah to slow things down he always has 2 or 3 piano songs in his shows. Jimmy Webb stuff in particular but also Everly Bros of course. Remember one time being so taken back (hairs on the neck moment) had to see him after the show to see what was the beautiful piano song half way through the show, said he was putting in on his next album which of course I got. The song being See Me Getting Smaller Jimmy Webb tune👌
Thanks for honoring my old friend Glen like this, Albert. I was on guitar with him for 15 years, we wrote songs together and recorded so many times. From all that, I see every feature of what Glen loved in great songs, including what I call "say it and get out of the way." Short song, no long play-outs, just the pure music with an incredibly real lyric. Thanks again Albert.
Jeff Dayton well said Jeff. Been following Glen and you for many years, and that’s the reason I ended up here. I sure do miss Glen (my idol). Thank you very much for keeping his love alive.
The highlight of my short career in the music business was seeing Albert at the NAMM show back in '93. He was at the Ernie Ball show with Eddie Van Halen and Steve Morse, trading licks back and forth among themselves. Steve did something crazy, Eddie one-upped him with some tapping, and Albert proceeded to burn the frets of his guitar. After about 20 seconds, the entire band stopped and Steve and Eddie stood there with their jaws on the floor. Albert sees them, stops, and shrugs his shoulders and proceeds to destroy them even harder. Epic memory.
Is there anybody this wonderful man hasn’t played with? He must be one of the most underrated artistes ever. Still going strong. If you haven’t yet seen him please do so.
This is so good, a great tribute to Glen Campbell, from Albert, from one Great Guitarist to another great Guitarist. Both of whom excelled in the art of playing the instrument they both love, with passion that few will ever accomplish, and thank god that we have lived in the era that we have had the privilege to see and hear their phenomenal playing ability , long may you continue..Albert.
Saw him in concert 2 weeks ago. Got the chance to talk to him backstage. Albert Lee is a great artist and an awesome guy. Wonderful memories for me. Thank you Albert LEE!!!! /CD
A performance full of faith and beauty of such a grat song. Emotion. In 2019 my wife and I saw Albert and Peter Asher together in a tiny venue - the sanctuary of a Baptist church in Rockford IL. I got a chance to talk with him afterwards and purchase a poster as a sovineir of the event. I didn't know that he played piano, but he told me that it was his first instrument. I never would have guessed.
It was such a pleasure to see you over the years in a lots of concerts around Germany! We took part at your 70!th birthday party at cadogan hall. And we admire you ever since. Hope to see you again! Sandra and Frank Mertens
a beautiful rendition of Glens touching song. so glad I tuned into BBC1 Breakfast programme this morning when Albert was on. I can't believe that I've not been aware of him until today. A very impressive CV from a talented musician. He seems like a very nice and unpretentious person. I'll look forward to listening to more of him.
I have been a fan of Albert's for many years. Always loved his guitar playing and his vocals. This video here just may well be the best thing he's done. I appreciate you doing this Albert and thank you for the great music thru the years !! now for the millionth time I'm gonna pick up my guitar and try to steal some of your chikin pikin..

I think this song written by Glen Campbell & Julian Raymond, is beautiful. I know Glen Campbell has spoken of his Christian faith but I don't know if many singers really mean the words they sing but I hope Albert does. I have made a 'Musical Biography' about Albert on You Tube, if anyone is interested!
What an absolutely beautiful song ..speaks to me and many others I’m sure ..hoping only in Jesus and his complete grace and mercy ..thank you Albert
A legend covering a legend...
One day he's going to be gone - and I will cry. What a phenomenal talent Albert Lee is. Totally under-appreciated. One of the best ever.

Glen Campbell
I've tried and I've failed Lord
I've won and I have lost
I've lived and I've loved, Lord
Some times, at such a cost
One thing I know
The world is good to me
A better place awaits you'll see
Some days I'm so confused, Lord
My past gets in my way
I need the ones that I love, Lord
More and more each day
One thing I know
The world is good to me
A better place awaits you'll see
Ooh
A better place

Small Pebble no need to hope that any have yet to bring that very thing you are already feeling: all actual singers 'mean the words they sing'! :-)
Why don't you believe in ?
