Yes he seems so fresh.. Although he's seen everything, played everything, talked to all the world... he is still a simple man... he could almost say the only person he didn't meet is God, but he remains himself.

Guys, you should probably chop out the performance of Highwayman at the end and re-upload it as a separate video - many people probably won't get to the end of a 2hr video and realise that there's an amazing performance there.

I heard Albert perform live for the first of many times, 27 years ago. I was there early in The Hangar, Galway. He chatted away as he showed me how to properly tie strings so that they would stay best in tune without slipping. At the end of the full-house gig Albert asked me to hold and mind his MusicMan while he wet off to sign autographs ... and yes, I was tempted to run off with the guitar, but of course I didn't. :-) :-)

There are songs I love that I play very seldom because they stimulate my break down and cry reflex. This rendition of The Highwayman by Albert is one of them, . It feels like Albert thought "I remember that clinic and meeting the Captain's pa in law. I'm glad I could make him feel better, This one's for him, and if there is a place we go after we die, maybe he can look down and hear this and be happy." Albert is the kind of guy who would do it and mean it. This was simply the most beautiful things I've heard in some time. Thank you, Albert.

I first became a fan of Albert's when I saw him play several times with Chris Farlow & The Thunderbirds in Bedford many years ago and then much later with Hogan's Heroes. Every time I got to chat with him I was struck by his friendliness, his modesty a lack of ego. What a nice person and what a player! Saw Albert play in the Kings Hotel in Newport about 25 years ago. I’d never seen anyone play as good as that before right in front of me. Blew me away!

Great to see someone who is such a talented musician is such a lovely, self depreciating fella too. Never knew what a great pianist and singer Albert is either!

I saw Albert Lee, the greatest, the most perfect gentleman of the music world of my days, playing Jimmy Web, in this amazing, unexpected, beautiful presentation, singing like an young man again. I'm old, like him. From where I stand, I can also see the end. This song means a lot to me.
    I'll never forget this day.

By far the most intriguing and facinating interview on Andertons ever. 2 hours of great stories and what a story teller he is. And yes "those country boys" have incredible techniques. Many many ears ago he did some kind of clinic ( if I remember well) in the Netherlands in which he explained his way of playing. Was stunning to watch & hear.

Great video and what an absolute legend Albert Lee is. I saw his band a couple of years ago and was absolutely blown away!! The sheer musical talent was incredible, along with his story telling etc made the night unforgettable. What a guy! 🙂

Had the privilege of watching this guy play at the Whitstable playhouse with hogans heroes. They were so loud they kept tripping the electricity. After the 3rd or 4th time it happened Albert just picked up his acoustic and finished the set unplugged! what a legend. He also played all the other instruments in the band as well. keyboards drums bass etc etc etc. rock on Albert you are the true hero.

Absolute legend. A monster player, a wonderful musician and a true gent. I was lucky enough to meet him a couple of times in the 90s and he was always so modest and kind. The epitome of tasteful and musical guitar playing.
