For the record in truth I still think this is an insanely ambitious games, one that is being done by a small ass studio no less. If they get all the kinks worked out and get everything in working order like the game was originally intended to be and once the price drops a bit more then I'll certainly look into it (Also assuming the online community for it is healthy again) and consider snatching it up. But as it is currently I'm gonna have to wait for sure, which is a shame
Yep. I have yet to be impressed by "open world" games, at least in the mainstream. They try doing everything and can't do anything all that well. You'll have more fun playing a simple platformer.
if you haven't tried it already i recommend the "Ratchet and Clank" series then, it has what you've mentioned plus (to quote its developers) you can blow up alot of s**t.
Hey kids, it was a stab at there not being any multiplayer, not at a stab at how many people may or may not be playing it. Did you even read what I posted?
Indeed. And it wasn't only the fact that it was $60. It was $60, had a collector's edition, pre-purchase exclusives, and many pre-release interviews and showcases from the devs who were high on their own shit. Take the same game and release it on Steam and PS Store at a $20-$40 price point and with little fanfare and it probably would've generated a following and been heralded.
its not only that its the fact that it was developed by an indie developer than slamed a price of 60$ which can not be defended by anything you can find in the game itself. The only reason why they got away with it is because of all the `awards` and interest the game managed to get before it released. Which i guess has a possitive side since atlease some ppl saw how stupid it is to get a game which hasn`t been out yet 48 awards or whatever....
Can we, as gamers, collectively stop buying into hype trains? They don't go any game any good. Destiny, overhyped. Most people didn't enjoy it. Titanfall, overhyped, died off within a few months. Now No Mans Sky. How many time do you people gotta get burned before you stop buying into hype?
TheSynniam Yeah, I actually enjoyed it personally, once all the DLC was released and I got to spend some time with it. But if I listened to all the hype, I would have been sorely disappointed.
Finding your channel just recently, I'm going over your older videos and listening to this one in the present day really feels a lot like listening to a video about Sea of Thieves. Well, they do say that history repeats itself ;D
what are you talking about? Destiny didn't screw anyone over with a broken port. bungie also didn't lie about the game... They promised and delivered with so much content and commitment unlike no mans sky.
+neko mata I agree too. even when i watched the e3 demo that my friend showed me, I kept asking him "Yeah but what do you have to do... like what's the point?". And 2 years later, it holds exactly true.
That's what I said. The game turned out to be exactly what I saw when they announced it. Everyone jumped on the hype train, blew it out of proportion, and the people who hopped on the train later just believed what everyone else said. Someone told me that it was gonna be the best game ever created and I looked at them like they were stupid. I asked them if they watched the same reveal trailer that I did because I saw a bare bones, boring game.
the game I screamed about wanting a refund for because it was such a huge anal rip off that I could feel someone pulling my organs out my ass...was SFV...and I still stand by this...it FUCKING SUCKS. at No man's Sky was properly finished before they sold it to the public unlike a certain fighting game where they tried to sell it for like £50 and claimed oh it isn't really good enough to e worth £50 yet...but in a few months it will be....WTF!! I literally tried to sue Capcom, I did I called and reported that shit.
www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/4y1h9i/wheres_the_no_mans_sky_we_were_sold_on_a_big_list/ well, that there will show you why. It lists everything the devs said would be there (with prof) and lists what we got in the end.
+Heart of Justice o shit i predicted that man I'm glad I never got that game I was going to get it but something in side me tells me no thanks for bringing that up man that's crazy most of Ubisoft shooter are mostly bead with in 6 months to a year
I think some one should make an exploration bot that all it does is mine shit for warping thrusters and jumping and lands on each planet one and moves on
$15 is way too much for No Man's Sky. I would say $5 at most. There are walking simulator games that have more content than No Man's Sky and those are around $10-$15.
You're right about fanboys defending this game like rabid dogs. Just go to sites like neogaf, too many shills and fanboys on that site defending this garbage, not sure if they are trying to be denial about how terribly unfinished this game is or if they are genuinely serious about their defense. Sean Murray is the very definition of indie dev counterpart of Tom Howard/Peter Molyneux.
Justifying their purchase. Even to the point of attacking people that gave it bad reviews. From death threats to ddos'ing websites. And i thought destiny and its fangirls were bad. Look how overhyped and false the advertisement for that. But in the end, it was still enjoyable. This. This is gonna go down on gaming history as a joke.
I don't have a PS4 or a PC that isn't a toaster. But from what I've seen the game doesn't deliver on its promises. On GameFAQs you see all these people saying that it's your fault that you fell for the hype. No. It's not. A company not delivering on its promises is not your fault. You saw the advertisements and liked what you saw. You expected that. It is the company's responsibility to deliver on those promises. You don't have to play through a bare bones broken promise and just take it because some shills tell you to. If people keep making excuses and blaming the consumers for not having a good experience then why should the company care? They have a built in PR team that they don't even have to pay. False advertising is never the consumer's fault. Making excuses for broken promises just encourages more games like this to happen, wasting people's time and money. They really screwed up here. Had the game remained a low key indie it might have been impressive as is. But Sony and Sean Murray inflated it up like it was a AAA and that's what people expected. Even if all these patches fix things they burned their good will by pushing it out unfinished and pissing people off. Why didn't they push the release back until they could add in more features? Did they run out of money?
+Judel Dela Cruz death threats from those losers? LMAO make my day i keep a Glock 21 in the glovebox and a HK USP45 in my nightstand...make my day NMS nerd
I have someone who once told me when we were discussing a terrible movie "Well after i saw it 3 times in theaters. . ." I think the defenders are like him Once you've thrown enough money at it you defend it so you can feel like MAYBE you didnt just waste money.
+AlphaOmegaSin Your video made me refund the game. I felt betrayed by the game. I put 30+ Hours into a game with a Open neutral mind. But! it left a black hole inside of my Space exploring heart. But a even bigger hole in my wallet. Well..... It`s time to fix that mistake. To anyone else reading this comment who refunded No Man`s Sky Here`s my recommended game for Space survival and exploring. "Space Engineers.
***** if you have a strong enough pc to run it (you need a top of the line gaming computer to even run it), then I suggest you invest in a "little" game called Star Citizen. Which is far far far more promising than No Man's Sky ever was.
WE continue to let the video game press (sell outs) lie to us with the hype they all create and WE all believe. Enough is enough. Stop pre-ordering SHIT and wait for actual fan reviews. Stop this freaking business model.
Thank you! I've been completely done with the modern pay full price for being a game tester games, while they have been developing the sequel since they started the first. Do they even employ game testers anymore? Or do the testers pay them?
They both corrupt, no doubt. But corporatism is by far worse. Glad to see you recognize how both are just ridiculous for all but a few who own everything :)
Worst thing about being the norm for a while? We basically ate the practice up like bitches. Now every damn idiot game maker/publisher isn't afraid to release incomplete shit for full price.
Another thing that few people mention is the lack of research by the devs. You often see large planets right next to each other, and asteroid fields just randomly thrown around. This would be very unstable in a real star system. Gravity seems to not work correctly since you don't orbit, you just head straight for the planet. If you head straight for a planet in real life, you will find yourself going so fast, you have no chance of stopping. Real trajectories are all curves, acceleration, speed, and calculating gravity wells. Cities would of been nice. How can there be aliens without cities? Some basic minecraft like building would be nice or being able to make a wide variety of guns, ships, crafting from animal and plantlife. What about making your own city like in Minecraft? What about ground vehicles like a landspeeder from Star Wars? They already ripped off the X wing. Another year and this game could of been great.
I like NMS. Probably because I don't play online, didn't buy into the hype, and love sandbox games in general. But the main reason I love it is because it's something relaxing I can play and explore while I let my thoughts run wild, either on my own videogame projects, or on my art projects. Hell, sometimes I even play Monster Hunter while I'm drifting to a new planet or walking to a landmark.
Hey you, fuck you - the circle jerk has decided anyone that likes this game is either lying or a fanboy. You're not allowed to like this game. Seriously, never seen such a huge circle jerk of haters in all my time playing games. it's utterly pathetic how many people who have never played this go out of their qay to shit all over it and anyone who has played it. I got 50 hours out of this game before I stopped, that makes it worth it to me. Yes they fucked up big time, but it's not as bad as people say. Just the internet being it's usual shitty self. I miss the early 200s.
Too true, unfortunately. :l I think a lot of people are comparing it to AAA titles, too, which is pretty unfair; NMS was a team of... thirteen? That's pretty impressive.
People get so pissed off when you use Seed of a Giant Tree and let the map kill them before they can even reach you. I remember going to that one place after Pontiff where everyone loves to invade and seeding my world and using chameleon and people were heated 😂
Yea Destiny was the last time I pre-ordered hype. I rarely pre-order games now and only from developers I trust. I still don't pickup the game till I watch the reviews from a few people on TH-cam, can still get my money back if it's not what was promised. Like when Doom didn't give out review copies I waited a day for some TH-camrs to review it before I went to pick it up.
So after all that Destiny charged it's customers it only became a decent game? It's like something you would hear about on Steam early access. Really, if it's not better then every $60 game out there then it's an absolute rip-off.
omg u playing that Sega Saturn Panzer Dragoon Music, 1st time I heard that tune playing the 1st time as a kid I was just fell in love with this games music OK now I will continue your video :) just had to get that out !
The worse part is all the E3 footage and other footage that places like IGN and game spot turned out to all have been manually coded and made by the studio and had fuck all to do with the so called RNG system to make all the planets etc
+Liamnator1005 I read that on countless reviews and it is pathetic. A company launches a manually coded bullshit game that is far from what the actual game is like.
To Hello Games' credit, they actually did stick with it. Through massive updates (all of which were free) they made the game way better. Having said that, it's still no excuse for the shape the game launched in.
PS4 exclusive? But it's on PC as we- Waaaaaait you're not an Xbox One owner are you? I'd feel sorry for you, but quite frankly if you spend money on a console with graphical cababilities inferior to a GPU from 2011 you deserve it. Xbone is closest to a Radeon Hd 7770, which is inferior to a GTX 560ti, released in 2011. Come on mate. Building a better pc is very much possible for the same price.
Sean Murray is an ass. However he just was vague in what he said. It could be multiplayer if your sitting with your buddies at your house taking turns. You can easily name your ship "in your head with your own thoughts". Every planet is different some have more trees then others, as well as different rock placement. 😔
+Steve 71 (BigDogBuck) asking every single planet to be radically different across 18 quintillion planets is insane. like real life, most are barren and look the same.
Th3UniQu3 you don't understand do you. It's extremely hard for a team of 15 to make every planet in a universe unuque. If every planet was just as unique it would also get boring
+Orpheus 010 well for one I understand the magnitude & how difficult that must be. Takes rockstar a decade to make 1 city in GTA. The difference here is that rockstar doesn't make false promises. I'm a minecraft guy I love that type of game but again no false promises. The man should have come out and said yes there is variety but limited. No multiplayer maybe later on, in the DLC, but for now we can't promise that. Should have also said you can't join factions you can't pick sides. Also should have told us there is only 3 races that exist and they will never move.
I've spend 1 month looking for an interesting planet. All I found was the same planet with the same rock, creature and tree just with a different color pallet. SEAN MURRAY YOU FUCK!
i stoped the game within the first system because i didnt find Heridium for my hyperdrive. they didnt have it for sale and i havent found out another planet with Heridium in it. gave up after that. frustrating and disapointing game.
No Man's Sky is now open to Mod Support! So given time... within a year! When the game price comes down to $19.95 and the support of the Modding Community all these issues will be fixed by the Fans! www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/?tb=mod&pUp=1
it's because gamers expected this to be something it wasn't...so many people I know thought no man's sky was going to be more like star wars or destiny an I'm like "you guys are fucking idiots"
They still have the money, say if you got it from GameStop then GameStop will be giving you money back not hello games, GameStop paid for the games and resold them.
True for game stop. but on Steam refunds actually cost the developer as steam does not give there cut back to the developer. I think the same goes for PSN online sales.
dude 150hrs of your life, think about that, i mean right there you have time for 3 casual runs of 3 final fantasy , training a moba or a fps/arena/shooter, idk this game does not deserve your life time
Looking back 100 years ago, Jell-O was a little more than a brand name and an unfulfilled dream. Today, if placed end to end, the 299 million packages of Jell-O gelatin dessert produced in a year would stretch more than three-fifths of the way around the globe. And the Jell-O brand now includes extensive lines of pudding mixes, No bakes, snacks, and yogurts--fun products which meet the needs of families today. How did this phenomenon come about? How has this wiggly, jiggly product adapted to changes in lifestyles and eating habits to remain a brand recognized by 99% of Americans and used regularly in 72% of our homes? Actually, the Jell-O story began more than 150 years ago in LeRoy, New York. In 1845, the industrialist, inventor, and philanthropist Peter Cooper, of Tom Thumb engine and Cooper Union fame, obtained the first patent for a gelatin dessert. Although he packaged his gelatin in neat little boxes with directions for use, Cooper did very little to make the product more convenient to use. Home cooks still relied on sheets of prepared gelatin. These sheets had to be clarified by boiling them with egg whites and shells and then dripped through a jelly bag before they could be turned into shimmering molds. Today, Jell-O products are not only the largest selling prepared desserts but the brand is one of the best known in the whole field of grocery products. Its history through the years has been one of adapting to the contemporary consumer needs and desires, and it continues to do so. The brand is a popular and familiar icon. In addition to a restaurant and museum devoted to Jell-O, there are Jell-O fans and memorabilia collectors all over the country. Over 100 varieties of snacks and desserts are sold under the Jell-O brand. In the United States, every eight seconds someone buys a package of Jell-O gelatin, the desserts from LeRoy, New York, that started it all 100 years ago. We invite you to page through this spectacular collection of Jell-O recipes for dozens of ideas sure to please one and all. Enjoy!
I'm starting to feel like a Jehovah's Witness with star citizen but they are getting to their goals albeit slowly but damn does it look good and the recent failure with no mans sky will probably fuel the fire with the devs of SC.
How long have you been waiting now? The game looks really good very groundbreaking in a way. I just can't see spending real money and wait for the product only getting to play very small patches of the game.
No Man's Lie is Subnautica, but shittier, and in space. And more expensive. And somehow AAA. The current Subnautica is better and it's still in early access like really wtf
Bonfire-Chan Yes but this is Hello Games first work, plus it's and indie game, 60 dollars isn't exactly the most reasonable price if you take this into account. Also do I need to remind you of all the bullshit Sean Murray and his company pulled out? I don't think so.
I do too... because I have played 3 times since it came out. But I will be sending emails to Hello Games asking for refunds, or I'll be getting my money back from the class action lawsuit for false advertising.
Quality video mate as always. I had a feeling this game was going to flop but not as hard this. Absolutely diabolical that a company can get away with so much bullshit and people still buy their games whilst it's still broken mind you. God damn.
EVE Online is trying to go free to play, maybe a intelligent move to snatch up every single NMS hater into the fold. F2P has very deep limits, slower growth, and is limited to static ships, but can upgrade to Omega Clones for $10/mo. (You use a alpha clone as a free account)... The benefit for this, is like opening up a game to free slave trading. Or a massive mercenary hiring since you can make a ton of accounts and outnumber your enemies 1000 to 1.
Great video Alpha. Random suggestion, but would you consider standing closer to the camera? I just feel like it might be more engaging. Maybe I'm wrong. Not a big deal
Starbound is better because you can do most of what you can do in NMS, plus you can build stuff. Want a moon base? Can't build it in NMS, but can in Starbound. The only drawbacks is it's 2D and no space combat. Based on how mining in NMS is I assume it's morphed voxels. I've played many voxel games that let me build. They could have done it.
It had so much potential. Imagine leading an armada of ships with a bunch of other players against a planet defended by another armada of players, with giant guns stationed on the planet firing up and guns built on platforms or on moons firing down on the planet at the same time. And all in real-time.
I kinda figured it wouldn't live up the massive hype when they uploaded the last trailer for the game and I still had no idea what would keep me playing.
August 30, 2016 "Here has been some recent confusion in the community about Steam refunds for this title. Our standard refund policy continues to apply to No Man’s Sky, and playtime continues to matter when refunding the product. We’ve reviewed your playtime and unfortunately you do not qualify for a refund." I was at 62hrs
I'm curious. Which was the bigger disappointment? *Mighty No. 9*? or *No Man's Sky*? Also, kudos for using the song *Flight* from Panzer Dragoon as your background music for the video. Brought back some good memories.
The multiplayer in NMS is basically the same as going on a trip somewhere and take a picture. Then find someone who took a picture in the same location as you and claiming you went on a trip together.
That is why I laugh my ass off when people criticize the money and time put in SC. It is very hard to estimate the amount of resources games of that scope take. Hello Game vastly underestimated it, probably ran out of money and had to push the game out. Given the amount of refunds I doubt they will ever deliver on their promises. This is the problem with crowdfunding software. You try and estimate what you need, raise it, start the project and then you realize your estimations were off because you had not accounted for X not working with Y or Z taking twice as long because of W or K really requiring E to work. That is when you either look for more money or make compromises. All of that is especially true in complex, innovative products like next gen games. At least the SC team understood that from start and chose not to make the kind of compromises that gave us No Man's Sky.
I think that's one of the few times you are actually mostly chill. Which translate to the oh so terrible: "I'm not angry, just disappointed." Which is worse than being angry.
You have become surprisingly positive alpha.. i may subscribe again. You as way better when your not forcing rants out. You could have went absolutely bat shit crazy here, but you did not ... i like it :)
The key here is, as you stated, the problems are facts. If you can pinpoint the problems, then you can solve said issues. It's just whether or not the company can.
i'm just glad i am one of the rare few who first research a game and then decide if i want it or not. in the 20 years of gaming that i have under my belt, i have yet to be burned by a game because it turned out to not be what the devs said it would be.
Imagine if an All singing all dancing revolutionary new car was advertised but after you bought it, you discovered the engine, gearbox, wheels etc were missing and the dealer you bought it from said 'Its ok we'll possibly supply all that stuff sometime later in the future if you're lucky'. Well you'd be pretty pissed. The gaming industry gets away with kind of stuff (remember Arkham Knight) regularly and seems to think this is acceptable practice. When you send this kind of shit back for a refund, send a letter back too, explaining how unacceptable it really is.
I laughed when he talked about Street Fighter because that was $60 for an unfinished game.... don't even get me started on their season pass bullshit either lol
No Man's Sky is a $15 Indie game developed by a tiny studio in just 2 years that was marketed to be the next Skyrim. Unfortunately it was impossible for it to deliver on it's promises. I feel if this game had stuck with the original price tag and didn't receive quite so many hype pieces it would be known now as quite a fantastic little indie game.
just wanted to clear this up -it's not auto pilot, it's crash proofing. -you can name planets -what you do, digging a hole always stays on that planet -1/10 planets are luscious. don't expect each planets to be insane. only 2 things missing for me. 1- planets need to be more scattered. like our solar system. maybe 2 or 3 close so you get those nice looking planets in the sky 2- space frieghters in atmosphere or crashed. next update is building and frieghters so maybe.
I'm an explorer type gamer. If there isn't a time limit, I will go out of my way to check out every little corner. I'm also constantly distracted by side missions and happenings. If things die down a bit and they fix the issues... and I get a PS4, I might get it.
"Role-playing in a space game", or "Acting as space criminal"? You might want to check out Elite Dangerous AlphaOmegaSin. It's got exactly what you are talking about. The community is really, really impressive. The most impressive game community I have ever seen for a game that is still very active.
It'll be interesting to see if/how they can bounce back from this.
idk whats worse NMS or #Mcchicken ....
I haven't heard anyone fucking their copy of the game yet.....hopefully it remains that way
Challenge accepted
Reminds me of Destiny. To many patches.
i'd rather play a game with a smaller world that's full of life than play a game with an endless world that's completely devoid of life.
Funny, I want the exact opposite. Different strokes, I guess.
Go to Witcher 3, it'll do it for yah. One of the very few. I'd count GTAV also if you have friends to play with.
ayyy shingo!
A wise man once said that a delayed game is eventually good but a rushed game can be bad forever.
+AlmightyStarfire name an unfinished game that was good.
+MassacreCloud mgs v
+ChrisGol14 Thats only one of the few cases.
+MassacreCloud I guess
+MassacreCloud kotor 2 also
You're wrong Alpha. Nobody can hear you scream in No Mans Sky because theirs nobody else in it.
Multiplayer stab.
lol 3/4 million or 3/4 people?
Win
Hey kids, it was a stab at there not being any multiplayer, not at a stab at how many people may or may not be playing it. Did you even read what I posted?
***** 8,286 current players . 9,175 peak today. dont know what kind of maths class you went to tho.
Oh for fuck’s sack, he was joking about playing alone, in singleplayer, because there is no multiplayer in the game.
I torrented this game and still feel ripped off
How?
As did I, so glad I didn't buy the shite. I'd have been fucking suicidal.
You should get payed for installing it.
I thought about asking for reparations for the mental anguish from playing the shit, thought I might be pushing my luck though.
wasted his time torrenting and playing
If this had been released as a $20- $25 early access it would have been tolerable buy at $60 it is a complete fail and hype train disaster.
fucking andriod autocorrect.
true
Indeed $25 would of been fine, just like Minecraft was at launch, still is $25 because its priced perfectly for what it is.
Indeed. And it wasn't only the fact that it was $60. It was $60, had a collector's edition, pre-purchase exclusives, and many pre-release interviews and showcases from the devs who were high on their own shit. More like no mans gonna buy.
I thought I was the one who came up with that joke. haha
+Kazuhira "Empty my M9 on the welfare line" Miller ...you and every other guy on the internet.
+Kazuhira "Empty my M9 on the welfare line" Miller Same hither.
You mean "One mans lie" lol
In all honesty once i either make my new rig or buy a ps4 im buying it.
I will defend destiny by saying at least it has a loyal fanbase but I will agree it was overhyped when it was launched
Too hard to resit!
Oooh watch dogs 2!
I'm sure that'll be game of the year...
TheSynniam Yeah, I actually enjoyed it personally, once all the DLC was released and I got to spend some time with it. But if I listened to all the hype, I would have been sorely disappointed.
Destiny is shit
TheKarui I have played a hundreds of games that are far worse. It's not shit, it's average.
Finding your channel just recently, I'm going over your older videos and listening to this one in the present day really feels a lot like listening to a video about Sea of Thieves. Well, they do say that history repeats itself ;D
From the second I heard about this game, I knew its potential was too good to be true.
Same.
Same. I didn't buy into any of the shit that was said.
It seemed obvious, but people road the hype train too soon and got fucked.
Wasn't Destiny in a similar boat?
what are you talking about? Destiny didn't screw anyone over with a broken port. bungie also didn't lie about the game... They promised and delivered with so much content and commitment unlike no mans sky.
I sold my copy of No Man's Sky and got Dues Ex Mankind Divided and I haven't looked back.
a shit game for a shit game a fair trade lol. i guess its not ahit if you have pc bit i heard the new deus is shit on console
+x_SAIYA-JIN It runs fine for me.
Deux Ex is has amazing graphics!
I skipped NMS and got Deus Ex. *Hi5
Seriously, having such a blast playing it!
Dude,,No Man's Sky looked boring as fuck since they announced it
i agree. im not really surprised. if anything, maybe im surprised that it actually ended up being even more boring than i thought it would be
+neko mata I agree too. even when i watched the e3 demo that my friend showed me, I kept asking him "Yeah but what do you have to do... like what's the point?". And 2 years later, it holds exactly true.
Been saying that since day one, man. Caught a lot of flak for it too.
Sometimes I'm glad I'm poor since that means I don't get hyped about games I won't be able to afford.
Haha true I was going to get this game but had too lose a arm and a leg lol glad I passed
Can't afford $60? You need a new hobby then.
+Spordan Jeith You kidding? I don't even have a console or PC to run it on.
Are you disabled?
hes trying to say he works 80 Hours a week and doesn't have time to scratch his ear.
A FUCKING WEEK?! 90 percent? Fuck me running!
Even the shitty ass division took a couple of months to lose 90% of it's player base...
That I could under stand but this game? Shame.
didnt know the division is dead holy shit

well, that there will show you why. It lists everything the devs said would be there (with prof) and lists what we got in the end.
+Heart of Justice o shit i predicted that man I'm glad I never got that game I was going to get it but something in side me tells me no thanks for bringing that up man that's crazy most of Ubisoft shooter are mostly bead with in 6 months to a year
the game is as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle
can you come up with something original ? or do you like taking quotes from other people?
I don't see any quotation marks.
Douchebag alert!
I've seen this comment before
Angry Joe said that
I think some one should make an exploration bot that all it does is mine shit for warping thrusters and jumping and lands on each planet one and moves on
Don't think I've ever clicked on a video this fast before. lol.
"Emo couple want to fuck more than they want to die"
+FilthyFrankVEVO "You've got midget! Scene 1"
Holy shit, 90 fucking percent? In a single week?
Evolve's player count didn't even tank that hard in the first *month!*
IKR? Its very bad.
No Man's Survive.
I would like to see the statistical data on this, because that might be the fastest decline in all of gaming history.
It sure lives up to the name, there is gonna be no fucking one on that sky soon.
This game should have launched with a $15 price tag
Even less
would change nothing to the game , the game wouldt be as boring with that price
+early access tag
They should have told us the truth as to what this game was and let the market decide what it would pay for it.
$15 is way too much for No Man's Sky. I would say $5 at most. There are walking simulator games that have more content than No Man's Sky and those are around $10-$15.
In space, no one can hear you ask for a refund.
I beg to differ cause a lot of people have XD
That's why we have steam everyone can hear you bitch and moan about every tiny issue in a game or in this case the billshit that is No Man's Sky
lmao I'm dying
Liamnator1005 Look what I found everybody, a walking, talking George Bush complex.
AlphaOmegaSin Fair enough, In Space, Sean Murray can't hear you ask for a refund.
I have someone who once told me when we were discussing a terrible movie
"Well after i saw it 3 times in theaters. . ."
I think the defenders are like him
Once you've thrown enough money at it you defend it so you can feel like MAYBE you didnt just waste money.
You know, I feel like we need an update on this.
It truly is becoming "no man's sky"
Lol
Unfortunate they chose that name. Irony is a cruel, cruel mistress! xD
(13)
lmao. Yes.
karma its a bitch
+hatchimmmmm
But only if you are one. ;)
eyyyy, outlaw star and cowboy bebop
I got that good taste though
AlphaOmegaSin
i'd honestly be really interested if you were to make some videos on anime.
Lords of thunder podcast
+AlphaOmegaSin Your video made me refund the game.
I felt betrayed by the game. I put 30+ Hours into a game with a Open neutral mind.
But! it left a black hole inside of my Space exploring heart. But a even bigger hole in my wallet.
Well..... It`s time to fix that mistake. To anyone else reading this comment who refunded No Man`s Sky
Here`s my recommended game for Space survival and exploring.
"Space Engineers.
*****
if you have a strong enough pc to run it (you need a top of the line gaming computer to even run it), then I suggest you invest in a "little" game called Star Citizen. Which is far far far more promising than No Man's Sky ever was.
$60 for an indie game...Nuff Said.
yet still i got it
It's not indie, it was backed up by Sony
One Man's Lie
It is indie.
still indie.
One Man's Lie. THEY PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE!!!!!!!!!
Sean Murray, The Man Who Sold the World.
+BossHalo219 LOL Nice Nirvana Reference.
+Bengie “Sawyer” Macfarlane Both quotes are from Metal Gear Solid V and you can hear the Nirvana's song in the game.
+Bengie “Sawyer” Macfarlane MGSV...
Sean Murray: Such a lust for money! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
MODERN GAMING:
Pre-order and maybe we'll get around to fixing it.
Capitalism yo
Corporatism yo.
Tomayto; tomahto
They both corrupt, no doubt. But corporatism is by far worse. Glad to see you recognize how both are just ridiculous for all but a few who own everything :)
80$ Cad. is steep for a brand new game that doesn't seem finished imo, im so glad i saved my money.
wow just fucking wow
+Bob Thesexyfish I'd like to see what this would cost in Australia
Seriously. At $80 I expect good things. Not a 'game' that you can likely see everything in a single hour.
Your currency is silly
The biggest thing that pisses me off about NMS is the price. Sixty bucks for a unfinished game, fuck you Hello Games!
Also the game was delayed due to it not being up to Hello Games standards.😂
$80 for us Canadians.
Sending out unfinished games has been the norm for a while now.
Worst thing about being the norm for a while? We basically ate the practice up like bitches. Now every damn idiot game maker/publisher isn't afraid to release incomplete shit for full price.
And you what sucks even more? Selling it to gamestop and only getting 18 fucking dollars when I bought it for 60 bucks
If you want mechanics like that play kerbal space program this game is more of a exploration game than a space simulator.
The planets looking like that was intentional.
They intentionally look like that. Sean Murray said that the game was supposed to mirror 60s sci-fi, and it does it very well.
Calling it an exploration game would make sense were there anything to... you know, explore.
They needed another year and more people to hand craft some things like cities and quests.
Shit its bloody hard to think of another game that has tanked so hard, so fast!
+Tower Torre Hasn't even come out and it's already tanked?
+Tower Torre no it hasnt. i just checked steam and google. you mean 3? cause it was only "announced" on the 8th
L3610NF0R14M7H37RU7H
Tower Torre is saying that it came out on the 4th month and the 20th day. Did you get it this time? How about 4/20?
Destiny
***** yeah, still a great game, just overwatch's gameplay (not story) is better.
No. There's no excuse for the barebones gameplay here. After all those delays they have no excuse.
My dog bit off my left nipple. Please send help...
My dog bit my hand.
+Juan Sanchez My dog has the sharingan. Bow to him..
What the fuck
Glynn Tarrant Sorry about that.
Only 2 videos left and you have 1000 came a long way alpha :)
First thing you done did to fuck up Hello Games,
You charged $60 for a indie game...
80$ for canadians.
+Frost3yte “Frost” oh fuck...
+TheHobbitFTW and thats before taxes.
+Frost3yte “Frost” straight up 13% tax so that $90. Lol this is type of game ps+ gives for free
+Prince Vegeta the price for games here is just wau to damn much
I like NMS. Probably because I don't play online, didn't buy into the hype, and love sandbox games in general. But the main reason I love it is because it's something relaxing I can play and explore while I let my thoughts run wild, either on my own videogame projects, or on my art projects. Hell, sometimes I even play Monster Hunter while I'm drifting to a new planet or walking to a landmark.
lol as a no man sky fan, monster hunter fan, and also fellow 3d artist / video game developer ..... I feel you!
:l I think a lot of people are comparing it to AAA titles, too, which is pretty unfair; NMS was a team of... thirteen? That's pretty impressive.
if you release at AAA prices youre met with AAA expectations & AAA standards. Next lets have cellphone games and greenlight games be 60 dollars each.
Hm. Fair point. I never actually thought of it that way, to be honest.
"I'm an indie developer" and "My publisher is Sony". You can only have one of those.
Dark Souls got more multiplayer then No Man Sky, you can coop and invade other player!
People get so pissed off when you use Seed of a Giant Tree and let the map kill them before they can even reach you. I remember going to that one place after Pontiff where everyone loves to invade and seeding my world and using chameleon and people were heated 😂
+Uncle Herbert life's tough out there for an invader just a constant uphill battle, makes the kill so much more satisfying
Feels wrong putting Dark Souls and No Man Sky in the same sentence.
Dark Souls was also a finished game (excluding 2) and was _cheaper_. But I don't see any reason to compare these two games at all, lol
why did he put dark souls and no man's sky in the same sentence wtf
Destiny burned me on unfinished over hyped games. That's why I gamefly new titles now before I buy.
Fun thing.. even Destiny gets another supposed to be ULTIMATE Edition with all the Dlcs in it and shit..
+Christopher Duncan
user reviews are pretty much the only opinions worth reading now days
Same here...but I keep hoping Destiny will get better.
"it's better than nothing" wait crap wrong game oh well still fits
Oh fuck, that saying will haunt everything lol
that comment made me cry like an anime fan on prom night! :/
Something something anime fan on prom night
No Man's Sky IS nothing. Therefore its better than THAT game
But then again at least THAT game is actually a game, NMS is not
I'm not surprised, looked nothing like it did when it was announced
The worse part is all the E3 footage and other footage that places like IGN and game spot turned out to all have been manually coded and made by the studio and had fuck all to do with the so called RNG system to make all the planets etc
+Liamnator1005 I read that on countless reviews and it is pathetic. A company launches a manually coded bullshit game that is far from what the actual game is like.
Liamnator1005 Love the pic by the way Dexter is the shit
To Hello Games' credit, they actually did stick with it. Through massive updates (all of which were free) they made the game way better.
Having said that, it's still no excuse for the shape the game launched in.
l knew this game upon it's launch would of been a big mess, looks like I was right.
Same.
I never even understand the up surrounding this game
+MOAB mauler Same here.
Glad this was a PS4 Exclusive. Dont have to bother being tempted to trying this game.
PS4 exclusive? But it's on PC as we-
Waaaaaait you're not an Xbox One owner are you?
I'd feel sorry for you, but quite frankly if you spend money on a console with graphical cababilities inferior to a GPU from 2011 you deserve it.
Xbone is closest to a Radeon Hd 7770, which is inferior to a GTX 560ti, released in 2011.
Come on mate. Building a better pc is very much possible for the same price.
Sean Murray seriously needs to come out and apologize, because this is Peter Molyneux type of level that he reached.
Sean Murray is still in hiding. He hasn't posted anything on his twitter in weeks
Wasn't sure, but now I think I love this guy's presentation. Only one vid. I'll watch some more and might sub
Alpha can i get some of your hair
Sure Man
Not a very good idea seeing as you'll have to pluck them out yourself, unless you hire someone else to do it. (jk)
+Kezo lastname
i rip out my ass hair with my fingers everyday. then i super glue them into a beard.
LMFAO! Almost choked while eating sunflower seeds!
Lol, Damn, I'm glad I finished my sunflower seeds! Yet nothing beats the musky aroma of 3 day old ball-Jam, just scraped after a nice workout!
I watched a guy spend 2 hours looking for Zinc, it got boring fast.
Did he say Sony? I take it back it was awesome.
Best way to get zinc is just to buy it. Best way to have fun with $60 is most certainly not to buy this game.
lol. I couldn't find much aluminum until after about 11 hours :P
No Man's Snake Oil.
No Man's Sky is now open to Mod Support! So given time... within a year! When the game price comes down to $19.95 and the support of the Modding Community all these issues will be fixed by the Fans! www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/?tb=mod&pUp=1
And it will be for free i hope, because then i will want to play it
They're learning from Bethesda, I see.
Yes... people forget that Morrowind was broken and has the largest Mod Community!
it's because gamers expected this to be something it wasn't...so many people I know thought no man's sky was going to be more like star wars or destiny an I'm like "you guys are fucking idiots"
Except Bethesda games are still good when their released, and we all love the cheese and broken attributes.
Imagine if H.R. Giger did the Art Design for No Man's Sky? Rest assured, every planet would be a horror masterpiece. :D
He passed away though.
Look up the game Scorn.
6:57 Did I just hear some Outlaw Star love?
Gone but not forgotten
someone forgot to tell hello games their master plan would of never worked, cuz you know... refunds.
Feels good to know that they can't get away with it.
+HeyItsUltra! You don't know what a refund is...
They still have the money, say if you got it from GameStop then GameStop will be giving you money back not hello games, GameStop paid for the games and resold them.
True for game stop. but on Steam refunds actually cost the developer as steam does not give there cut back to the developer.
I think the same goes for PSN online sales.
They made a ton of money from pre-orders, which are non refundable.
The only people defending No Man's Lie are the hardest Sony Fanboys in denial who carry water for Sony & the PlayStation brand.
Not really. It's on PC too.
It's really just 5 people defending it.
William Morse - Yeah, but I haven't seen a single PC No Man's Lie gamer trying to defend it.
Guernicaman
Still, there is a VERY small amount of people defending it. I haven't even seen someone make an attempt to defend it.
William Morse - I have in a few forums & it's just sad. You know it's the type of person who will eventually come around & out of denial.
Guernicaman
But for a good amount of time, they're in denial. I just wish people could agree on things that can't really be argued about.
How long until it's on the isle at Walmart that that you don't have to get it out of the locked case?
11:40 hum... Street Fighter 5 Arcade mode? lol
Alpha, the game is listed at Singleplayer. There is no Online.
+LTNetjak does it really?
LTNetjak i can't peal a sticker off Steams page listing.
they promised that it would be possible to meet other players and that's not possible right now, so the promise was not kept
On physical copies of it, yeah. The physical case came with a sticker slapped on over the Multiplayer listing on the back.
+twistedmetalplayer21 It wasn't listed as single player until a few days before release. If you preordered the game you're still fucked.
It's weird seeing you so calm
it never made sense from the start. if it's an infinite universe it'll probably be too big to run into anyone.
Are you ok?
i think he meant why put MP if the chances of you running into anyone is so low it just makes it a SP game it doesnt make sense
Except two people coordinated a meet-up at the exact same place in the universe on DAY FUCKING ONE and nothing happened in-game.
what does that have to do with anything
I love NMS, and am extremely disappointed by it at the same time. My major complaint is lack of diversity, and all enemies are FAR too weak.
I have well over 150 hours of NMS gameplay under my belt.
+TheLivingfreekshow yeah me too, it is an ok game, just overpriced and overhyped, good thing I game share with my friend
+TheLivingfreekshow How do you have 150 hours? I have 150 hours in Xenoblade X and that game had way more content.
dude 150hrs of your life, think about that, i mean right there you have time for 3 casual runs of 3 final fantasy , training a moba or a fps/arena/shooter, idk this game does not deserve your life time
yeah I'm enjoying the game too I just wish I had more freedom when I am flying n more interaction with the aliens
Enjoy!
I will continue to wait patiently for Star Citizen. The more Derek Smart hates it the more I know it will be good.
+42
At least we get to see everything we were promised actually working/being developed and we can play it before it's launch.. +42
Star Citizen will never come out.
+Bonfire-Chan It's priced as a AAA, therefore it should be criticized as a AAA.
+zorraal220 there is no such thing as a AAA price. $60 just happened to be a standard price for the past two gens.
Bonfire-Chan Yes but this is Hello Games first work, plus it's and indie game, 60 dollars isn't exactly the most reasonable price if you take this into account. Also do I need to remind you of all the bullshit Sean Murray and his company pulled out? I don't think so.
I think they added the whole " space pirates vs convoys" thing in an update.
I like this game....
I do too... because I have played 3 times since it came out.
But I will be sending emails to Hello Games asking for refunds, or I'll be getting my money back from the class action lawsuit for false advertising.
+Tower Torre opnions does matter. its matter to him. it matters to you.
same here
***** then yours doesn't either
Linkfreak 404 everyone has a different definition of "Good tastes"
The games getting better with... mods!
Basically, CPP wants f2p players as grunts, as slaves or laborers... LOL.
Like 99% of the F2p games. Freeloaders are the slaves, and the whales the Lords of the castle.
Great video Alpha. Random suggestion, but would you consider standing closer to the camera? I just feel like it might be more engaging. Maybe I'm wrong. Not a big deal
5:32 Not much longer with all the refunds (at least the ones going through).
I've actually been overall supportive of the game. But your comments are some of the realest and fairest on the Net. Enjoyed the vid!
It had so much potential. Imagine leading an armada of ships with a bunch of other players against a planet defended by another armada of players, with giant guns stationed on the planet firing up and guns built on platforms or on moons firing down on the planet at the same time. And all in real-time.
love the panzer dragoon music in the background. that game has one of the best soundtracks ever
I kinda figured it wouldn't live up the massive hype when they uploaded the last trailer for the game and I still had no idea what would keep me playing.
As wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle. Should have been a $30 early-access game
What happened to your podcast? One of the better gaming podcast out there.
The irony an ad for the game played before the video :)
If the game was actually as advertised, it would be phenomenal.
August 30, 2016
"Here has been some recent confusion in the community about Steam refunds for this title.
First video I have watched I dig your opinion and how you tell it man keep it up!
You have really good ideas. I was also expecting some Cowboy Bebop-like gameplay.
I'm just noticing the super subtle camera shaking. Look at the side of the video you'll see it moves when he does
I love how you compared it to Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star, i have both those collections and that's what I thought that this is going to be like.
I love the Panzer Dragoon music in the background.
The key here is, as you stated, the problems are facts. If you can pinpoint the problems, then you can solve said issues. It's just whether or not the company can.
I couldn't concentrate on what you were saying because of the kick ass panzer dragoon music. Time to play some Saturn.
i'm just glad i am one of the rare few who first research a game and then decide if i want it or not. in the 20 years of gaming that i have under my belt, i have yet to be burned by a game because it turned out to not be what the devs said it would be.
4:00 - See the cat walking by in the lower left corner? Ha ha.
I feel if this game had stuck with the original price tag and didn't receive quite so many hype pieces it would be known now as quite a fantastic little indie game.
just wanted to clear this up
-it's not auto pilot, it's crash proofing.
-you can name planets
-what you do, digging a hole always stays on that planet
-1/10 planets are luscious. don't expect each planets to be insane.
only 2 things missing for me.
1- planets need to be more scattered. like our solar system. maybe 2 or 3 close so you get those nice looking planets in the sky
2- space frieghters in atmosphere or crashed. next update is building and frieghters so maybe.
The fact is was rushed out is even crazier when you realise it was already delayed.
