I take GameCheater903, you have never heard of The Who, they are sort of famous for smashing their kit up on stage from way back in the 60's. The first time it happened it was an accident, he put the guitar neck through the low ceiling of the club they where playing in West London, the kids loved it. He was a student at Ealing Art College, where he was taught art by auto-destructive art pioneer Gustav Metzger. so it is a form of art what he is doing. I have never seen him smash a guitar in real life, I've seen The Who live 18 times, which is a bit of a let down....but they are still one of the finest live bands around....
