Mike Watt and Thurston did the best bass parts of both albums. If you listen to the isolated bass track of "Goo" here on TH-cam, you can really hear how absolutely shitty her bass playing really is. It's kind of amazing really how well it works, though, underneath Lee and Thurston's layers of noise. But, it's amazing how bad she really is at bass and I'm not a bass player or musico dork. She's off time, doesn't pick consistently hard at all, both of which are pretty much the most important aspects of what a bass player is supposed to do, but worst of all, you can hear on that isolated "Goo" bass track that she often accidentally doesn't even hit the right note. So, like, her finger lands on the fret next to where she meant to land and it's off-key, but I guess they're like, "oh well, she's not getting any better, I guess that will have to do..." The bass slides are comical to listen to because you hear her get halfway to where she's supposed to slide to but for whatever reason she didn't make it and so she has to jump back to the next part or miss it. It honestly sounds like a kid who's been practicing a couple months at best. WEIRD.
