Some people report their transmission puking up fluid after doing the rent relocation. I had this as well, and I came to the conclusion that the problem was with a low spot in my vent tube. Some fluid got pushed into the vent tube and settle into a low spot, so the transmission was effectively not being vented. Pressure built up, and eventually it caused the fluid pooled up in the low spot to come out the top and then be replaced by whatever drained back thereby ensuring the transmission would continue to not vent.
Solution is to just make sure your vent tube goes up for its entire length. Once I corrected that, I never puked up fluid again.

Excellent work. Cool trick with grease on the paper 👊👍

To pull pump I used two 3/8 threaded rods cut to about 16" thread each one into the two holes then slip two large 1/2 dr deep impact sockets on threaded rods add a nut to each threaded rod above the sockets, and use those Sockets as your slide hammers at same time watch that pump moves evenly a couple taps on one side will straighten you out if its comming out uneven.
My vent plug was 1/8 pipe thread . Once I got threads started I cut and ground the end off a cheap pipe tap to make it a botoming tap.
The pump vent has a plastic bafle inside 10:05 to keep trsns fluid from being slung into vent. Try to position your new vent away from spinning parts that sling trans fluid.
(Note The thread sizes I mention are for a 46RE not sure if threaded holes are same on 32Rh.)

Did the vent hole in the pump seem overly loose? My brand new tap hardly did anything. I’m guessing that’s why you used red loc tite instead of others that used Teflon tape? Did it hold up?

Couple questions for you. Did you need any electrical components like a ecm for an automatic? Did you look at using a factory style shifter? I'm getting ready to do the same swap and putting my parts list together. Thanks and keep up the excellent content!

Thanks, in order to run a factory style setup you will need a pcm from a automatic Tj, they did come with this transmission. Since mine is full manual I did not need to do this.

@@MuddyBeards4X4 good to know and thanks for the reply. I'll be on the hunt for a PCM setup for an automatic then.

Did the trans push fluid out the vent? I know the trans was in for a very short time but last one I saw done this way pushed fluid out the vent.

Good to know. I only drove mine about a mile before it came back out, but the vent, hose and barb fitting were bone dry.

Hello, Any update on this fix? Any fluid burping up? Did you change any seals reinstalling the pump? Edit: Also for the location of the vent you point to a location behind the seal of the pump, and state we do not want to vent there because that is between seals, but is that not the area that the current vent vents? Thanks and great video

I wonder how many transmissions per year are trashed by deep water.

I have a question about what direction the inner gear goes inside the pump. Manual says angled side toward the front.... Any help would be much appreciated

@@humzilla707 OHH no, I get that. I was just saying that is important to raise your vents in the desert or you will pay the price at some point.
