This doll is extremely adorable. She came a long way from the highlighter make up nightmare to a beautifull mermaid princess with the cutest crown ever! Thanks for mentionign us and our mermaid doll, in our project the ribbon didn't stay perfect too and the curly ribbon is now a wavy ribbon but it still looks like a cute strand of seaweed 😂 And don't worry it's June now, every day is good to make a sweet mermaid doll!

She’s adorable. I’m most impressed how you incorporated the orange marker into your design. I’ve done one of the see through dolls, as I was doing a ghost I couldn’t use much contouring as it showed through the plastic at certain angles.
Omg we match with our "when in doubt, (blank) color" haha although mine is purple all the way! Kudos to you for working with that nasty highlighter, the faceup turned out SO GOOD. I can't wait to see your review of that palette because I was low key drooling over it while you were working on the tail, so pretty. im so happy with how the crown turned out, and it was actually fun to make. sometimes i make things for dolls and the whole process sucks and takes really long but working on that was just fun. hahaha the hilighter was a bigggggg yikes in the beginning, thank god it turned out okay. i guess i could have just painted over it if it didnt but the translucent skin is so pretty. thank ya!!

The doll planet seriously has the best hair. You’ll have to try the baby unicorn pink color from them. And their picture of the color faded glory does not do it justice. You’ll have to try it sometime.
ive definitely gotten more used to their hair recently and im really enjoying it. i actually have baby unicorn. i was debating using that or pink floyd when rerooting this doll but decided pink floyd would pop more with her complexion.

looking at the thumbnail, i never would have guessed that she started with orange highlighter over half her face! you really made it work, she's soooo beautiful. i like the sculpt/colors of the tail to begin with but adding a layer of pink metallic and gold dots rly took it to the next level

Work got me held up on the next doll (the UK is mainly resuming work half way though June (C19) and I had to prepare) but it was such a sweet uplift in this crisis. In short, THANKS and keep going! This may be my favorite doll from you yet! I too really love pink, mermaids, and Sirena Von Boo, but there's so much more to love about this doll. She's got this cute an ethereal quality to her, like a princess that you'd take on a date to an underwater carnival just to see her laugh. I love her glittery details, it gives me some ideas for one of my own repaints. XD I really like that you made some good out of a tricky situation with how you incorporated the highlighter, that was a really clever idea! Overall, great work! You're doing phenomenally. ^^

She's adorable, I love her! Can't wait to see the arteza review, I feel like I see people review it highly but i never notice them use it again. With the benzoyl peroxide it's heat that makes it work. A good way to speed it up is with a hair dryer. I've used a heat gun before but looked away for a couple of seconds and now I have a doll with really bad pox scars on her face...but no more stain! Just be careful if you do it.
I have been customizing dolls all of my life, which now has been over 40 years. Red marker of any kind is very hard to get off any doll. The best way is Oxy 10, but here in Canada we can only buy Oxy 5. You do have to place the doll in direct sunlight or under a lamp. But you need to use a light bulb that is not the new LED lighting.
ahhh the benzoyl peroxide i used was 10% and i placed it infront of a bulb but i have no idea if it was an led light or not. i think the peroxide method would have probably worked out more had i had the time to devote to it but i just didnt unfortunately. its definitely something i want to explore if i ever get another doll thats super messed up like this one.
I believe highlighters are alcohol based so I mean that could've worked but she turned out amazing anyway! If anything the orange looks like it just made a nice base for the eyes
are they? i guess ill have to try using alcohol if i get another super messed up doll. thank ya! i think the highlighter did make a nice base for the eyes, so much so that im sort of thinking of experimenting using a highlighter(or other marker) in a certain way if i repaint a white doll since theyre a bit hard to build up highlights on.
Maybe it was the material of the head that absorbed the pigment so well? The methods you tried might work well on a normal doll head, since I’m assuming the transparent material is different.
Hi. I also do rerooting on dolls. But when I start to reroot, the acrylic paint that I did on the scalp starts to fade. Is there a way to make the acrylic paint not fade at all?
hi! uhhh i mean fading or peeling off a bit is sort of inevitable and it doesnt make much of a difference atleast for me because its usually only a minor amount. ive seen people seal in the paint though with modge podge or glue if it bothers you alot.

Curl your ribbon around a wooden dowel and then heat in the oven. They stay curly forever.

Hi! Acetone 20% water bath (the method to shrink heads) worked for my stained vinyle heads! It was bright orange and came out brand new. :3

She's adorable, I love her! Can't wait to see the arteza review, I feel like I see people review it highly but i never notice them use it again. With the benzoyl peroxide it's heat that makes it work. A good way to speed it up is with a hair dryer. I've used a heat gun before but looked away for a couple of seconds and now I have a doll with really bad pox scars on her face...but no more stain! Just be careful if you do it.

The benzoyl peroxide has to be 10%+ but I hadn’t tried it for highlighter. I LOVE the hair color! 🤩
ahhh, it was 10%, i think it just needed more sessions of benzoyl perioxide. ill give it another go if i get another super messed up doll :D thank ya!
I have been customizing dolls all of my life, which now has been over 40 years. Red marker of any kind is very hard to get off any doll. The best way is Oxy 10, but here in Canada we can only buy Oxy 5. You do have to place the doll in direct sunlight or under a lamp. But you need to use a light bulb that is not the new LED lighting.
ahhh the benzoyl peroxide i used was 10% and i placed it infront of a bulb but i have no idea if it was an led light or not. i think the peroxide method would have probably worked out more had i had the time to devote to it but i just didnt unfortunately. its definitely something i want to explore if i ever get another doll thats super messed up like this one.

I believe highlighters are alcohol based so I mean that could've worked but she turned out amazing anyway! If anything the orange looks like it just made a nice base for the eyes
are they? i guess ill have to try using alcohol if i get another super messed up doll. thank ya! i think the highlighter did make a nice base for the eyes, so much so that im sort of thinking of experimenting using a highlighter(or other marker) in a certain way if i repaint a white doll since theyre a bit hard to build up highlights on.

Maybe it was the material of the head that absorbed the pigment so well? The methods you tried might work well on a normal doll head, since I’m assuming the transparent material is different.

i use the derwent watercolor pencil in white. its my fav. specifically the normal derwent white watercolor pencil, not the derwent inktense white

Hi. I also do rerooting on dolls. But when I start to reroot, the acrylic paint that I did on the scalp starts to fade. Is there a way to make the acrylic paint not fade at all?
hi! uhhh i mean fading or peeling off a bit is sort of inevitable and it doesnt make much of a difference atleast for me because its usually only a minor amount. ive seen people seal in the paint though with modge podge or glue if it bothers you alot.
