very beautiful Bird and amazing Video

The first Dipper I ever saw was when fly fishing Sullivan Creek in Washington State with my Dad. It was so joyful to watch that bird dance from rock to rock then disappear underwater. In 2012, I visited my Swedish Cousins and there sitting on a small shop's shelf was a Strömstare (European Dipper) carved from wood. That carving sits on my desk less than a foot from my keyboard. Loved your video.

Very nice. Your patience paid off again. We have dippers in my area of Alaska and if Covid quiets down and I can get back to the U.S. sometime this summer, I know where to find them. Excellent photos, Trond.

The most amazing video Trond. Spring is such an amazing time for the natural world and I feel so sad that I will be cheated out of it this year (for understandable reasons). I’m at the age where each spring is precious and the chance to lie down like that has probably gone for ever now! You will be able to file this experience away in your memory for when you are old like me.
This video will serve as my yearly dose of dipper for 2020.
Who knew that the dipper made that lovely quiet bubbling song in its throat. Amazing, AMAZING!
    THANKS.

Trond Westby You’re very welcome 👍 Trond I have a question- how are you liking your full frame D4s? I noticed in this video you opted to shoot the dipper with your D500 crop sensor. I would have thought the low light sensor performance of the D4s might have been desirable but perhaps you were expecting to need to the extra reach of the crop sensor body? You certainly got your usual high quality output from the D500 on this occasion 👍 How does post processing images from both bodies compare? Thanks, Ade

That is a neat experience for sure! Wonderful photographs to accompany the memory. I would love to lay down more here in Canada, but right now we're fighting an explosion of deer ticks for which a large majority have Lyme disease which can infect us so I'm paranoid about getting too low. I go immediately home and dry my clothes on high heat in the dryer plus have a shower. Good on you for capturing what you did!

Very interesting ! I like documentaries about wild nature, and I wondered how it is possible to take videos of animals; when I see you , I understand now how you can film birds without scaring them
