I’m surprised Gather Round didn’t make the list. In terms of Gospel centered and pointing your students to Jesus I feel this is one of the better ones. Heck it’s bringing me closer to God as I teach it.

Yes, I'd recommend it as I do in some of my other videos. Unfortunately the list has only 10 spots though. Maybe I should do a sequel. Thanks for commenting and recommending!

Have you flipped thru Rod and Staff. Also CLE (Christian light education) we are using it now and we are loving it. Very affordable also I have a big family ❤️

Yes. I used Rod and Staff when I was young. We liked it. And CLE has amazing reviews. I've heard good things about thier primary and middle programs. Not so much high school.

My favorite is Abeka. They exclusively use the King James Bible and say that they give a gospel message to children from preschool through to at least grade seven. It seems to me to be very no-nonsense, traditional and repetitive, yet effective. I hear people rave about their English and Bible programs most. It seems to me that those are the most important things. Interestingly enough the original purpose of the US education system was to teach people to read so that they could read the Bible.
Isaiah 54:13 KJV - And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

I think you're right about the English and Bible programs being important. That's SO INTERESTING about the origin of the education system in the US. To be honest, that's my main purpose with reading too!

I found that so interesting as well. It looks like things are coming full circle. Prior to the school system all children were home schooled. But now we know that prayer and Bible reading has been removed from the US public school system and most home schoolers are Christians.
Also of note is the news that US teachers are now sharing about Gen Alpha children being illiterate, testing below grade level and being behaviorally totally out of control.

I'm enjoying your videos! I can't decide. I want Gospel center online curriculum as we both work. We don't have the way to teach our kid ourselves. Could you please recommend your favorite for Middle School - 7th grade? We're planning to homeschool for the 1st time.

Definitely Generations or BJU Press. But Monarch is the more basic and affordable version. If you want you can also look at Compass Classroom... but it may be for Yr 2 when you're more confident. Thanks for asking my advice. God bless.

I want to have a rich Christ-baed history but I also don't want "white-washing" for lack of a better term. I want to know what was going on in all ethnicities. I think that's why I struggle so much with History.

You might like Mystery of History, it is a 4 cycle world history program. We’re on ancient history (from creation to Christ) and so far she has gone to great lengths to show what is going on around the globe.

I second mystery of hystery. We're using it right now and really loving it. I purchased the CDs so we just listen to her read the lesson and then each child makes an index card summarizing the lesson. We review the index cards periodically and also keep a timeline in our living room and my girls each have a book of centuries.
The creator of MOH does an amazing job including all the different kingdoms and cultures during whatever period you're studying and shares enough details to not sugar coat the atrocities that occured...w out being too gory for children to hear. I never would have expected to learn about Africa, the Middle East, and Japan's history when studying the renaissance! We've learned so much! I wasn't even aware that Africa had some insanely prosperous kingdoms during the renaissance! When I was in school, I only learned about Italy!

@@howtohomeschool Hi, just my perspective, not to offend you. This is my thought from studying the history of this occult run world and what God needs us to fight against. Symbolism "👌🏼" , then one can easily research Monarch Programming, FreeMasons, repressing memory & even Greek meaning of Konos in the "Hellenistic Era". We may not live by certain demonic ways or understand them but anyone who publishes books or reading/learning material Influences the world. It can be a subtle and patient plan. I hope I'm wrong 🙏🏼Listening because I am starting to homeschool this year.
