I had to pause for a second to see if it was crying at my house! 😂 all the best Mama. I did half and half homeschool over my schooling. And STILL my grandparents are worried about the ‘socialisation’ of my kids. I think forgetting that socialisation is what often causes the most pain from schooling.

I love both methods. but I wonder what today's neuroscience thinks about Mason's method. I have not found such information, while it is often said that today's science confirms Montessori's theory. we know that the brain absorbs knowledge well when learning subjects in blocks, and it is good when a person can go deep into a topic without interruption because it is time for the next subject. And I still have a dilemma, I'm trying to combine both methods, but while when it comes to mathematics and working on the concrete and then on the abstract, both ladies say the same, to show the concrete first, and in Mason it's sticks or buttons and Montessori shows pearls and stamps, still At the same time, it is impossible to give the child freedom to choose what he or she wants to work on today and for how long with the Mason method, where the time and subject are determined by the teacher. That's my dilemma.:)

What do you think about using Signpost Maths for homeschooling? (I like it because it’s all Australian) would the workbook be all you need for the entire year?

I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! I've been binge watching so many homeschooling channels, but i keep hearing "we're doing this curriculum because it just really FEELS right for us". That statement is so unhelpful. Thank you for breaking down the curriculums and giving comparisons!! My kids are going into the 6th grade and I'm just now really getting them into learning biblical teachings. I'm late to the game. While i want them to learn about God and the Bible, i also really want them to learn MORE than what trad school is teaching. I would like them to be ahead. Is there any curriculum you think is good at both while offering some online teaching instead of all at home...as i do work part time out of the home.

I'm doing the BJU Press curriculum with my kindergartner. I feel like she needs more hands-on activities. She can get distracted easily and I've been trying to make it "more fun" for her. I really like the curriculum and want to stick it out but I'm not sure. It's our first homeschool year. Any tips since you follow this curriculum? Thanks! Love your videos 🙂

Moving Behind the Page and Oak Meadow are good picks but some of the most used are Blossom and Root, Build Your Library, Torchlight, Pandia Press, Royal Fireworks Press and many others. You could have just asked over at SEA homeschool. This video may need a part two. Oh and by the way if it has a Christain world view or biblical world view, it’s not secular.

My son is currently doing ignite Christian academy, 8th grade and we LOVE it! However, leaning towards doing a mix of ignite and monarch for 9th grade due to change in needs and differences in price.

I feel BJU videos are too short and don't get into the lesson much. I currently use it, but wanted to get another curriculum that explains the lessons longer.

Hi Rebecca I think we will go with BJU press for my year 7 next year . Just a quick question we looked at their example science lesson. It’s seemed so more advanced what I did in year 7 in Australia . Should I just repeat year 6 . Seeing it’s a US curriculum
