    Finally, I found your review that presented logical fixes to problems with the clamps and pole sleeves. It was a frustration. Now it seems easy. Bravo to you. Best wishes.

    Hi from the UK. Found this a great informative video. I don't hunt, we don't over here, but we do bag mountains. Just bought one and can't wait to try it. Thank you for sharing, stay safe , David

    Hey. Just letting you know I found this really useful. I’ve watched about 15 vids on this tent today and so close to ordering. I’ve bought 4 tents this year and none of them had ended up being my “one tent to rule them all” - this will be the most expensive but not by much, but does look like it might do the trick. I thought I was settled a few weeks ago but had a broken pole in 45mph wind that was an assache to fix as my hands were so cold.

      Nce this video i went on a sheep hunt in northern windrivers. Had extreme weather hit us. 28 nights spent in the storm star above treeline. No complaints from me other than I wish it was a little longer. I'm 6'3. Had serious storms hit us. It kept me dry. But it is expensive

      If you camp in extreme weather it will give you peace of mind. The best tent I ever owned but also the most expensive

    hi great review .ive just ordered mine waiting for it to arrive .was just asking does the footprint connect to the tent like a hilleberg .? or do you have to put that down first ?

    • @snowwalker8079
      @snowwalker8079  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry I didn’t reply sooner. the ground footprint is held in place by the poles. it doesn’t connect to the tent. I leave it in place when I roll up the tent. that way it’s always there

      @@snowwalker8079 ive got my tent now ive fitted the groundsheet to the bottom of mine so its there all the time ..just tied it to the holes in the corners of the pole straps ?

    • @andyhallowell27
      @andyhallowell27 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI Kev. Sounds like a good and easy fix to attach the groundsheet permanently. I am just waiting for Kuiu to get stock of footprints then i will get an order off. I know with the restrictions you won’t have got out camping much, but how you finding the tent now you have had it a few months?

      @@andyhallowell27 only used it twice both on bamford edge .just getting used to putting it up .its ok the poles are a bit fiddly but you will get used them .it coped ok in winds around 40/50 gusts and rain lots of rain lol ive tied my ground sheet to the tent using the corner loops it works a treat lol atb kev

      Cheers Kev! Im sure the poles will get easier with practice! Certainly sounds as though the tent was very solid which is great to hear and hopefully we can all get back out camping soon! ATB, Andy

    I am considering buying this tent. Why did you choose this tent over a floorless shelter with stove?

    • @snowwalker8079
      @snowwalker8079  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      excellent question. I also looked at those TP tents with the titanium packable stoves. the reason I didn’t go for one of those is because I spend a lot of time above timberline. meaning there is no wood for the stove. also those type of tents are not able to set up unless you can drive a stake in the ground. there are a lot of campsites up high in the rock you cannot drive a stake. the tent needs to be self sustained. also this tent will do better in wind and extremely wet weather. you can set it up in a marsh and remain dry

    • @ryan6937
      @ryan6937 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@snowwalker8079 Those are good points. Is the Kuiu Storm Star 2 completely free standing and you don't have to stake anything out?
      Also, I could see that glow in the dark ram being annoying at night. Is there a way to remove it and how bright is it?

    • @snowwalker8079
      @snowwalker8079  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      technically you could set it up without staking out anything. But be careful so it doesn’t blow away. keep lots of gear in it to hold it down. which reminds me.I once put a heavy rock on my sleeping bag in my tent to help hold it down in strong wind. Not this tent but an older tent. Yes the glowing ram is bright. the inside tent is white so the ram sort of illuminated the whole inside. I like it. But I can see others not liking it.
