    Hi from the UK. Found this a great informative video. I don't hunt, we don't over here, but we do bag mountains. Just bought one and can't wait to try it. Thank you for sharing, stay safe , David

    Hey. Just letting you know I found this really useful. I’ve watched about 15 vids on this tent today and so close to ordering. I’ve bought 4 tents this year and none of them had ended up being my “one tent to rule them all” - this will be the most expensive but not by much, but does look like it might do the trick. I thought I was settled a few weeks ago but had a broken pole in 45mph wind that was an assache to fix as my hands were so cold.

      Nce this video i went on a sheep hunt in northern windrivers. Had extreme weather hit us. 28 nights spent in the storm star above treeline. No complaints from me other than I wish it was a little longer. I'm 6'3. Had serious storms hit us. It kept me dry. But it is expensive

    Let me put the brakes on this right away. NOBODY can LEARN to shoot instinctively. Look up the definition of the word. Anything that is instinctive to someone comes NATURALLY. This means you are BORN with it. It is not something you can learn. You have it or you don’t. Most don’t. I was born with it and have been shooting instinctively for over 55 years. I am Not as good as Howard Hill or Byron Ferguson, but I do not need to know any yardages, or even come to full draw and hold. By the time my index finger hits the corner of my mouth, the arrow is released. I NEVER hold at full draw. It just comes natural to me. Again, nobody can teach instinctive shooting.

    • @snowwalker8079
      @snowwalker8079 ปีที่แล้ว

      I beg to differ and so will thousands of archers. It’s called instinctive archery. It’s as natural as throwing a rock or a spear. We look at where we want the arrow to hit and through practice our brain has a memory we don’t perceive. Same as throwing a rock. Practice makes us better. It is instinctive and some are better than others at it. Even an African lion is taught to hunt by its mother. Yes they are. Orb with instincts to hunt but it’s perfected by practice and by being taught. Take a caged animal born in captivity and set it free in the wild it may starve before it figures out how to successfully hunt. We as instinctive archers don’t aim don’t look at the arrow don’t look at the string. We look at the object… or small spot we want the arrow to go and that is all. So it is instinctive and that’s the word chosen by thousands to explain it best. What other word would you suggest?

    • @snowwalker8079
      @snowwalker8079 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, I don’t draw Olympic style or compound style anymore. Lately I’ve been liking this style of drawing and releasing. I face my target and anchor very shortly when my index finger touches the corner of my mouth. Almost a snapshot. I want to do some pheasant hunting with a bow and this is a great way to do it. Also I have a big chest and long arms. I’m 6’4 so it is a short draw for me but it’s still a 28 plus inch draw so the bow is still in its performance range so there you go... laugh all you want lol

    Mint condition ! Well Taken care of. I’m watching this video because I just received to 1977 old Compound Bow’s one is a bear polar in the other one is a Jennings sidekick. Both have sites missing both have stabilizer missing. Looks like the kids found them and beat them up but the string seem to be in good condition they are mostly steel and then regular style for about two or 3 feet. It makes me appreciate the bows I have , smooth and silent and reliable for me . I have some older ones on the wall for decoration . Afraid to break them 😊. I do not need to shoot them but if it’s all I had I d be shooting them quite a bit . It’s so cool you found one in such mint condition . Keep it nice , looks beautiful to me .

  • @bosatsu76

    I just got a 45# SAS Maverick... Suprisingly hard to draw, but that's just me for now... I like the idea of instinctive shots. You throw a rock instinctively, why not an arrow... Meanwhile, I'm close all around a little bag I've set out against a high bank. Hoping to get much better soon... Question though... I shot my first arrows yesterday, and only shot 24... Wore a glove, and my middle finger is still numb from just those few arrows... Holding the string wrong? Second question... How do I determine my nock point... I thought I'd do without one, but it seems pretty handy to have after yesterday. Thanks for the video... Carry on.

    You keep your bow well in draw. This is the true instinctive shot. I don't understand how well those who, keeping the bow in traction, bend their head to the left can shoot well.

    So sorry Snow, you got a window on the bow then it isn’t traditional. It’s fake traditional. Get real and sport no window. Then you can call yourself traditional.

    • @snowwalker8079
      @snowwalker8079 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      WRONG! your talking about primitive. I’m talking about traditional. Theres currently millions of traditional archers and bows in this World some have sight windows cut out, some don’t. A traditional bow can be either a primitive bow or a noncompound. I belong to many traditional bow sites it’s a common name for those bows. you need to get out a little more often.

    If you have to do so much and in such sequence then it’s not instinctive . Instinctive shooting in true sense means you don’t have so many pre steps because this means you are still doing some kind of gap or split vision or reference shooting . When target is moving and archer is walking he or she has to shoot from a highly diverse terrain and at different angles so there cannot be 1 way to shoot .
