Not trying to be a downer, but I have slid into an isolated, dark place the past several years. Now in my late 30s, it is only getting worse with time. Running consistently makes me able to actually sleep decently well and often keeps the dark thoughts and apathy away. I’m really not trying to be dramatic… it just is what it is. Anyway, thank you for this video. It’s exactly what I needed to remind myself of all the benefits of running and why I can’t stop doing it.
I lift weights for the aesthetic results. I run for the mental benefits. I strive for 150 minutes of running a week. I can usually cover that in 3-4 sessions. Several weeks I have stopped running to monitor my mental health, and I have no choice. If I did not run I would be on an anti-depressant and I am so afraid of what that would do to me. Getting in that running time every week saves me from falling to a very dark place. It really is incredible how our bodies can heal themselves.
You're right it absolutely is the best thing for mental health. I've always been a lonely depressive and still am, but since starting to run 6 months ago it is just a little bit easier to live through the pain, and the benefits to my body and lung capacity are also very pleasing. I need to run every day, at least 5km, every single day.
Yes and no. Exercise contributes to weight loss - IF you’re in a caloric deficit. You can run a marathon every day, but if you’re eating the entire McDonald’s menu, you’ll still get fat.

Running helps me mentally so much! I completely hear you. I’m glad it helps you as well! Our bodies are so amazing.
Running helps me with anxiety, ADHD and addiction ❤
@@Lexmorningstarnz so glad you find running helpful ❤️❤️
Same my friend.. same. If I go more than like 2 days without running, my sleep starts to suffer BADLY. If my sleep suffers, my depression SKYROCKETS.

Thanks for sharing👍🏻! For me, run just sets me free from pressure and maintains mental strength😊. Yup, PB is built on consistency
Thank you! And I agree! 😊
I run 7 - 10 miles every day, and consistent running will adapt the body to a certain shape, depending on diet and genetics.
I completely agree!
So interesting!!
Thank you! 😊
great video! 😊
Thank you!!
Another great video. Thanks!
Thank you, Liz! :)
Smile, everything will be fine)))
Great info! Thanks!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
You’re wrong. Running consistently loses weight

@@robertarnold6192 you’re not going to be able to run a marathon eating like that lol
@@Pitbull_expert that’s not relevant really. Point is calories in vs calories out is how gaining or losing weight works.
@@robertarnold6192 how many fat runners do you know?? Consistent runners. I’ll wait
@@Pitbull_expert quite a few, I’m in the military. I know fat people who outrun me.
What are PBs?!!?! 😭 I am Confuscian
Oh! They just mean Personal Best or your fastest time yet :)
No six pack 😅
