Correction: One of the current bishops, Bishop Linda Adams, was chosen at the most recent General Conference. She is the first female bishop (and a wonderful person!).

I'm a UMC pastor that is transferring to the Free Methodist Church this year. I LOVE the Free Methodist Church.
Just wondering why? I attended a UMC a couple of times and it did not seem like church at all. I am looking at going to a Free Methodist church.
I wish that there was a free methodist church anywhere near me. Nearest one is hours away. Wisconsin is almost entirely catholic/lutheran
@@imapotato1492nothing wrong with Lutherans as long as they are Missouri Synod. Also, I found at least one thing false in FMC’s doctrine: abortion. They said abortion is murder, as God said in His command, EXCEPT. Except. Think about that, “except”. Except termination of a child to save a mother’s life. That is still against the Ten Commandments.

I wish that I could have found the Free Methodist Church when I was a younger minister it would have been the kind of church that I would have loved to have been a pastor and to be a part of. It is completely in line with what I believe. Thank you again for this video.

I was looking for a church that WASNT Calvinist and believed in the gifts, but that wasn’t Pentecostal. This seems like a perfect fit

So the Free Methodist Church can be an Independent Methodist church to where it can be autonomous?
After listening to this I wonder why those folks of the WCA think they need another denomination the Global Methodist Church . This seems pretty similar as far as I can tell.
They wish to get away from a denomination that owns property. And I don’t believe there will be bishops in the GMC. There have been issues with UMC bishops not upholding the BoD, as they vowed to do. I believe those are the major sticking points for those starting the GMC. Personally, I really like the Free Methodist church. My parents joined one when they moved to a small town several years ago, and that church is thriving. Lots of young people, families, and packed worship services. It also has more diversity than some of the liberal churches in a nearby city.
Where can one find statistics on the ages of remaining Church members and ages of those leaving, or having already left the Church? How do the elderly cope with dwindling members? Have charitable activities before Covid, differ with those of now.. 2023? Thank you.

So difficult to follow due to the speakers lack of respect for listeners and his inability to pause in speech. A hasty but informative run through of many aspects of the Free Methodists. Very little emphasis on the place and priority of God's Word, Mentions,Yes, but only in passing. Seeing that noone reads these comments I wont bother going on.

I go to a free Methodists church. I agree with most of what the book of discipline states. But, to say the bible is the perfect word of God, and then suggest that women can be in authority and to consider evolution...it bugs me

That's what you comment on, lol. Which is epecially ironic because Jesus spent a lot of his ministry preaching and showing that injustice (and thus privilege and disprivilege) exists, being that we live in a corrupted world, where some are well off and some are excluded and/or suffering. That is why he spoke up for and stood with the poor, lepers, disabled people, Samaritans, pagans, foreigners, prisoners, women, eunuchs, prostitutes, etc, ie those who were socially excluded, rejected, victims of prejudice and bigotry, marginalized, oppressed, and disprivileged in the community he was in.
My sentiment exactly. White privilege and racial justice are just signs of communism overtaken the Methodist Church. People that have eyes may want to move to a different denomination that is more steadfast on scripture, instead of the trend of the times.
I am saddened to see the Methodist Church failing to follow the most basic foundations of Christian life.
