because with hang gliding the wing is much closer to you, many people say the flying experience of hang gliding is much better.
Exactly
Fly both and yes higher winds is one aspect. But I personally find it more fun flying. Faster and more dynamic, better glide and strong thermal coreing. But yes PG is more convenient.
Another potential advantage of hang gliders is that rigid wings do not suddenly collapse and kill you for no reason at all.
neither do PG or PPG wings, everything happens for a reason, don't scare people away from such an incredible sport dude
@@DARKSLIDEHLL yes they do. I witness collapses on both frequently.
@@SVSky You've seen a wing "suddenly collapse and kill someone for NO RESON AT ALL"??
well.... im not coming tou your LZ lmao
@@SVSky you only fly a hang glider dont you?
@@DARKSLIDEHLL what's PPG?
I understand your point, I'm about to start hang gliding lessons and I went back and forth for a while. My heart was always in hang gliding. I tought to myself that it's not how many times you go out that makes you happy but the memorable one that fulfill you. Just like snowboarding on the mountains, when you have the one perfect memorable ride, it can be with you forever!
Hang gliding is better if you hate hiking, love nuts and bolts, love to weight-lift, love to crick your neck and look up for hours on end, and hate stringy things.
That would be me.
Funny😂
Aahhh my old friend - didnt we have this rivalry in an epic documentary many moons ago? ;) lol. I fly both - teaching both too. Let me tell you that the feeling of flying is sooo much cooler in a hangie. Nothing beats that feeling. :)) But for the rest of the stuff you are saying I agree. I get 20 times more airtime in my PG. I go XC more often, fly many more sites, the list goes on, probably because of the convenience. There is no comparison to HG regarding that. So in a nutshell, PG beats HG in all aspects hands down, except the actual feeling of flying. ;) Hehe... Its true!
It's also much cooler to sleep under a hang glider than on a paraglider ... but I didn't have time to explain that in a youtube short, and it's too easy to get misquoted :-)
Can you tell me which one is safer?
Do both
Wow I would have thought the opposite. But can’t you go faster with hangliders and have more control.
FloatWithGreg
Idk, I would think it would be easier to learn hang gliding vs paragliding.
Now you really dissapoint me. Have you ever flown a hangglider?
I began hg in 1977. Then pg from mid-nineties and counting.
You just cannot compare without flying both.
What is that beeping
Variometer. High beeps mean he's going up, low buzzing means he's dropping.
@@Slaeowulf thx
It's a don't hang glide warning beeper. Every time Greg says "hang gliding" it beeps with disapproval.
How do you avoid collisions with small planes -- do you stay within a close area of a winch launching site or an area where parachuting takes place?
It's variometer and the reason I don't fly with paraglider, I can't stand that annoying beeping sound
Shiiish hanggliding😂
