- My friend Kari gifted me a Salmon Pink Bird-Eater sling (Lasiodora parahybana)! In this video I'll unbox the tarantula and show you guys my juvenile female that I have to compare the difference between a sling (baby spider) and a young tarantula!

I have a juvenile female parahybana. She is called Clara. What about Dora, since it is included in the name Lasiodora? But it only works for a female... Maybe Salmon for a male.

Haha yes, my friend didn’t tell me she put a mealworm in there for the sling! I later removed it because it was too late for them. Currently I’m feeding fruit flies mostly. :)
I named mine hairy lol.
My sling still prefers to hide, got them a couple months ago and I can’t wait till they start putting on size and weight.

Awesome tarantula! I was planning on picking up the giant salmon but I'm not sure how the hairs would work do they float out of the enclosure when you wanna feed it or give it water?

Leonard Page just keep the enclosure sufficiently moist and humid and make
sure they have access to water. You could try offering 1-2 large crickets (if it’s an adult) at night to see if they go for them. Best of luck!
Still a juevenille and acts really defensive towards the tongs when I try to offer him a cricket or Roach. I've also just tried dropping it in at night and letting him hunt it and he won't eat it. Which brings me to my next conclusion I will never buy anything from B&B pet store again. After I bought that which was like a week later I went and bought a red tail boa from them and when I got home and started looking at it it was so ate up with mites I'm surprised that lived it affected it so much it went off feed for like a month. Thanks for the advice I I know you have much more experience with them than me
Leonard Page // Your scorpion, does it look particularily fat? I feed my juvies about once every two weeks or once a month or so. How long have you had it? They will go off feed during pre-molt.
He that is one thing I didn't know that they molted their skin like tarantulas in my snakes which could be a reason but it looks kind of skinny to me. Now that makes sense because to me I'm thinking anything hungry is going to eat and I'm offering it all these delicious bugs thank you I have watched hundreds of videos on the requirements and how to keep these animals and not one of them has ever disclosed to me that they molt their skin to thank you for putting outside good content for us extreme hobbyist love your videos and keep them coming and you have been such a help to me I will tell all my friends about your Channel
Yeah I have several tarantulas and I'm pretty comfortable at what they do but the Scorpion thing is kind of near to me I've always liked them and thought they were cool as shit so it was kind of a impulse Buy but I couldn't resist myself and his enclosure is one of those Nano tank I'm wondering if you think it's big enough for him I believe in him cuz I learn how to fix on through one of your videos I believe it was your videos so I'm going to stop stressing so much now and just let Mother Nature do its thing
