It's still crazy to me how eras like this can take place over 3000 years years ago from the movies and stuff still looks relatively the same, yet 1000 years on just our planet are extremely drastic.
Well there is this constant up and down in technology in Star Wars. I guess it has something to do with more advanced Technologies needing a plethora of resources and knowledge to remain functional. While the Galaxy isn't under a central rule most of the time. Like the various Republics were more or less independet worlds, that worked together in galactic trade and such, while they had to abide to some basic rules to make things easier. But all of them had their very own governemt, more or less void of influence by the Republics. All the real great stuff only came to be under a united Galaxy, or at least a more dense union of multiple worlds.
Well, if you compare Europe 50 BC and Europe 1500 AD you’ll notice the former was in many ways more advanced. Human history actually contains several instances of dramatic technological regression. Other examples include the Bronze Age collapse of the 1500s BC and the decline of the Ming (China is estimated to have had a GDP in 1400 AD equal to that of France in 1850 (or China in 1950).

Close - you said that the twins commanded the army and while you are correct, you fail to mention one specific detail; only Thexan was supposed to command the army. The twins had petitioned Emperor Valkorion to let them test the strength of the other galactic powers (namely the Republic and the Sith Empire) and while the Emperor approved that venture, he ordered Arcann to stay on Zakuul. He deliberately disobeyed his father and went along with Thexan. As twins, they had done everything together and Arcann wasn't about to let his father get between him and his twin. They conquered many worlds together, eventually arriving on Korriban where Arcann was heavily injured in battle and received emergency cybernetic surgery on the battlefield, protected from enemy gunfire by the energy shields of several Knights. Arcann received a full cybernetic left arm and also wore a durasteel mask on the left side of his face to hide the scarring. He used his new cybernetics to kill the enemy commander, Darth Atroxa, the day after he received his cybernetics.
The Eternal Empire = the only faction in Star wars that could unite the entire galaxy and create peace. There can't be everlasting war between jedi and sith, if both are vanquished.
I love how the writers intentionally built into this faction the flaws (over centralisation / under population / over automation) which later lead to its swift and total eradication from the galactic history. A very interesting part of the lore, especially when one considers the strategic calculations of later Sith Lords, such as Darth Sidious, where he clearly avoids some of the pitfalls shown by the Eternal Empire.
Yeah, they were just wrong in their depiction. Zakuul's population was huge, and there were administrators with a large beaurocratic chain for every functionality on the planet. Despite this they were very efficient, but the beaurocracy was starting to become an issue. The biggest issue with the people of zakuul is that they had it too easy and were apathetic the what was happening in the rest of the galaxy. As you saw in kaliyo's chapter, they were so bored that their kids joined her in committing acts of sanctioned terrorism just to create some excitement. The parts that were too centralized would be the military, which consisted of skytroopers, the eternal fleet and the knights of zakuul. But it actually worked to benefit valkorion. The eternal empire easily conquered both the sith empire and the republic.
Ah it‘s this „Eternal“ Empire. I was hoping for the one true empire that lasted for eternity led by the glorious immortal Jar Jar and his legions of Gonk and mouse droids.
I mean if u complete a sith origin story before doing the eternal empire chapter with ur BH you can use its legacy power, plus u can have dark side corruption

If he was the eternal empire wouldve thrived under his command. Replace his heir to the empire story into the eternal empire and without underlings undermining him, he'd be a formidable foe
Note: Vitiate never actually held a Darth title. He went from Lord Vitiate to eating a bunch of Sith and becoming the head of the extremist cult of the True Sith Empire that would eventually become the Sith Empire. So in effect he went from Lord to Emperor.
So he went from the Sith, to the Eternal empire, then when killed went back to uniting the Sith and Jedi to take down then eternal empire. This guy was manipulating galactic affairs for so long playing both sides at the same time. Such a cool character. Great video.
Can we just take a moment to realize that Valkorian’s daughter Valyn was so powerful that he locked away part of her power and secretly brainwashed her for fear of her power? Her strength was unbelievable and required Arcann , the outlander and Senya to overcome her
A fleet with technology this advanced, it had the potential to destroy both the Republic and the Sith for good. Let's all be glad this fleet remains undiscovered in the present day of the Star Wars Galaxy.

I find it facinating, that Bioware monetized the shit out of the present Idea in KOTOR II, - that Revan knew something about a threat in the dark of the unknown regions - twice.
What about doing a series about the most influential wars of the Star Wars Galaxy? Like the Tionese War that basically propelled the Republic into a Galactic power.
The story told ingame is pretty much just The last airbender but in Star Wars. TBH, it would have worked better as a new IP or just a SW single player game, it being told through an mmo game very much limits it.
Imagine if swtor was a single player game and you could actually see the aftermath of what you did and all the storylines weren't linear and instead had branching paths like kotor 😔

@@Verde_Martinez SWTOR is quite old mate, it released in like 2011, Disney obtained the rights roughly a year later. Currently broadsword studio has done quite the job in updating and supporting the game far more than many of us expected them to. It's still highly dated, but they've put in a lot of work updating the engine, graphics and lighting and there's a difference, cosmetics and so on. Sadly yes it has some influence from the newer star wars shows, but its cosmetics like the armor and weapons and none really look that bad and some even have new features such as hoods being able to show hair or headbands etc that were previously removed. Most aren't updated to that standard but hopefully things are touched up. The story lines have been great, while not as solid as the main story lines for each character which were unique to each of the main classes they're still solid story lines and are doing far better than what disney has been doing.
It can be played by any class, but Bioware only using the jedi knight, aka The Hero Of Tython, aka Solid Snake in their story trailers, so he is the canonical Outlander.
The only thing I hate in EU is "forgetting". The people of the Galaxy eventually forgot about Dromund Kaas and Zakuul. How do you forget the capitals of your old enemies? Isn't there a lesson called "History of the Republic" in schools?
This video is the first time I hear the term "Starscraper" for a building. It's beautiful and I hope it will be used for future supermassive buildings.
Since you run both a Star Wars and a history channel, there’s a video of the 2003 clones wars with the Black Hawk Down trailer audio. It’s really good and I think you should check it out. Great video as always
My personal favorite among any Star wars factions, they built up so much small lore for them only to underuse them in the end. Also last news we know what happened to Zakuul is that after fall of monarchy and Knights of Zakuul they were absorbed into Alliance but seceded shortly after. They couldnt get diplomatic contacts to Empire or Republic and got heavily infiltrated by different gangs who landed on the planet and established footholds even in the elected government. So basically they went from Empire to a very corrupted Democracy mostly due to bad leadership. It is unknown if the devs of SWTOR plan on expanding upon this. I personally hope they will as currently it feels rather unfinished.
The Knights of Zakuul weren't entirely absorbed into the alliance, Senya convinced a contingent of them to join the Alliance but given what the Alliance just did to Zakuul, I doubt she was able to convince all that many. Many joined the Order of Zildrog but as a force on Zakuul, they still do exist but are leaderless so wouldn't be surprised if the Knights begin to enforce justice more insanely than before. And I love Zakuul myself but really hope they are finished messing with the world, they already made it make no sense whatsoever with the planet releasing its colonies which drove it into the resource crisis itself. Even then, it would still have the capabilities of building skytroopers, Eternal Flagships, Stealth Cruisers (gilded star was identified as one), and even the battlecruisers again to strengthen themselves. The planet has a lot of potential still to be a power house but the writers are not thinking, they want to move away from the KOTFE and KOTET because they were unpopular to many fans. So, let them forget about the planet, the exchange setting up shop is bad enough, next thing we know, they will be in full blown civil war annihilating themselves. As if they hadn't had enough of their society destroyed due to outlanders already.
The Starforge, the Eternal Throne, and Centerpoint station. These three things can reshape the galaxy by themselves. Imagine a sith lord knowing of all three of these, they seek to use Centerpoint to move the Eternal Throne and Starforge to a more advantageous position. They have material with the Starforge, they have labour and military power with the Eternal Throne, and they have raw overwhelming power with Centerpoint. Sidious and his Deathstar don't have shit on this hypothetical empire.
@saber 1616 Yeah playerbase threw tantrum over change to their Republic vs Empire scenario and they scrapped entire expansion of Zakuul for that and eventually ended Eternal Fleet in rather very boring way.
You forgot the fact that Tenebrae didn't really lie - Zildrog played a pivotal role in his transcendence from one Sith warlord to a super-powerful entity on par with a demigod.
Funny. Before this video I had done extensive research into the eternal empire. Play through SWTOR and read the books. Coolest time in all Star Wars history
A question I have about the time period is when did Jedi stop allowing their members to enter relationships. We know Satele Shan who became the Grandmaster of her day had a husband and a Son and didn’t turn to the dark side even if both are killed. Yet by the time of the clone wars only Jedi from endangered species were allowed to even have kids. What happened?
I don't think there is an exact time or event for it. I think it was forbidden since the creation of the order, by the Jedi Code. But like in every order or system, there were people, who decided to go against the rules. So they did it in secret or/and with the disliking of the order. Since love is one of the strongest emotion, and the code doesn't ban emotions (even if it tried, it wouldn't succeed), there is little that the jedi can do about them, besides telling that it's wrong, to have such attachments.
The ultimate lesson which Yoda try to teach to Anakin is that you need to let go of attachments you can love although you can’t control everything which leads to obsession aka darkside instead of listening to the will of force which Yoda contradicts himself showing the hypocrisy of the order especially since the jedi order is playing politics & being soldiers instead of peacekeepers.
@@frostburn6784 well I mean again that’s the question. If in one Era you can have the Grandmaster basically have a whole family to literally no Jedi having any relations at all where was the turning point?
@@tnntaronewsnetwork4514 honestly bro I don’t think there was a ever problem with love or even having a family since the jedi had compassion which encourages love however Yoda claims that obsession is the true problem which Anakin always struggled with including when he lost Ahsoka & felt guilty for not doing enough to find her although he taught her everything he knows which brought him peace of mind in the end of episode which Yoda even smiled which the ultimate challenge was Padmae which I don’t think he failed bc Mace tried to slay palp which is a soldier act not being a peacekeeper which amplified the hypocrisy of the jedi which really makes me believe thats why Anakin said screw you guys i mean he was trying to stop mace since Anakin did killed an unarmed which wasn’t the jedi way.
Satele and Malcom never maried and were never an actual familly, they had a hidden 6 month relationship. She was ready to give up the Jedi when she realised she was pregnant, but in the end she broke up with Malcom because the war started to change him into something she didn't like and feared she may turn badly if anything were to happen to him or to their unborn child, then she hid her pregnancy, and gave her son up right after his birth to her former master for him to be raised as a Jedi. As Theron was not Force sensisive, he was pretty much kicked out of the Jedi Order, did a few things before becoming a spy for the Republic SIS, he met his father when he was nearly 30, and barely had any contact with his mother before the novel Annihilation.
I just can't wrap my head around it, if the Sith and Jedi keep causing this many problems for the Galaxy, surely someone would've thought by now: "Hey, maybe we should kill all the force-sensitive, or atleast all of their knowledge, organizations and artifacts." Honestly, 90% of the conflicts in the Star Wars universe are caused by these two groups.
it would be impossible because everyone is technically force sensitive some more so than others, and it would be near impossible to actually stop them driving many to go to the dark side, the force is technically the greater power and the ultimate one in control. As for knowledge many do attempt to destory or obtain it for power and so on, it is a never ending cycle. Most of the conflicts start from the empire who wish to rule and control, the sith just join them and use them for their own gain as they generally follow the same path, the jedi generally stay out of conflicts but the sith always return. The jedi make many mistakes in what they do, but they don't attempt to control everyone or run the galaxy. In fact going further back Tython was a planet that originally needed balance between light and dark, so it's quite complicated.
Swtor 6.2 came out with the end of Tenebre, Vitiate, and Valkorian. Go watch it. Yeah wouldn’t it be something if someone made a movie or series about the old republic🤔. I mean I love the game don’t get me wrong but I have a lot of friends who like Star Wars but have never heard of anything like this.
I've read a lot about the Eternal Empire as it fascinates me. It's quite a powerhouse of a faction, with warships so effective it subjugated the entire galaxy in only a few months. Breaking the two other most powerful factions with ease. One might think that it was a miracle the Iokath didn't become a force powerful enough to subjugate the galaxy themselves when they were around. Especially considering how many and how powerful weapons of war they made. But they were more interested in the development and testing of weapons than actual conquest, interestingly enough. Maybe if they didn't end up in a devastating civil-war, they could have subjugated the galaxy after all, who knows? Also, I wanted to mention something about your pronunciation of "Iokath". As with the planet Iego, some people may mistake lower case l for upper case I. But important to note is that the first letter of a name is always capital. Meaning it's not named Lokath as you say in this video, but in fact Iokath with an i.
Eternal empire is definitely the best faction in Star Wars so much to explore with this maybe we will eventually get a tv show or movies that show the old republic era and maybe even the eternal empire
A show would be best. Imagine a show as extensive as game of thrones where characters and factions get wiped killed in battle often. It could follow smugglers , politicians, jedi, sith, soldiers etc etc... would be epic!
@@declanroberts8934 yeah that'd be badass. I would prefer a show as well. They can have up to like 10 hours of content vs a movie with at most 3 hours of content. Unless they do a trilogy they could have almost the same amount of time
I have thevague suspect that a LOT of ancient technology in SW galaxy had been forgotten/buried away (by the Jedis?) or also simply gone missing, sometimes the ancient times seems more advanced than the original trilogy.
Ngl, the eternal empire is really cool, I wish it stayed around as one of those powerful factions that would attack anyone if provoked but was just chilling there in space enjoying the fireworks of the clone wars and the galactic civil war
In my head canon at least, the Old Republic universe is an alternative to the Disney universe, or the original EU. The creation of the Eternal Empire changes drastically the social and historical development of the whole Galaxy. But since the EU does not exist anymore and SWtOR isn't in the current canon, Bioware has free reign to do whatever they want. I don't think we're meant to believe that this universe is the same one that 3600 years later will evolve into the prequels.
@@theblueneko677 But even if you consider only the 6 Lucas' films, I think it's weird that the technology and general state of the Galaxy stays pretty much the same in almost 4000 years.
[Spoilers] Of those who played SWTOR, something that confused me with the intro mission to KotFE was how small the Coalition fleet was. If I recall correctly, it was a small group of frigates. You would think they would have sent heavier firepower, and that Darth Marr’s flagship would be a capital ship. I don’t know, just really felt small.
The Empire was stretched to its limit at that point. Even with the fighting on a temporary pause to find Vitiate, once he was found and dealt with the fighting would have resumed. Any large capital ships out of position would have made the Empire even more easy to take down. So Marr merely gathered what ships he could in order for this scouting operation. The Republic is in a similar boat and are really right not to trust the Empire, moving their ships out of formation to deal with Vitiate would have been too much of a risk until he was found. Not only that but the Republic's involvement had been limited and, apparently, unofficial by marr's reckoning. So even with the threat of the Emperor, the Republic wouldn't have committed many resources to this until they had no other choice but to do so.
I wondered what happen to the eternal alliance? I know few options to join republic or the sith. But the option of 'The Commander' becoming's its own faction separate from sith and republic intrigue me. Not sure if any Dlc that involves the Eternal Alliance after the defeat of the eternal empire. Be interesting in how they would run their own small nations, last heard many worlds opted to join the alliance.
In the game you always get to hear that you have to seize the ethernal throne so you can take full controle of the fleet. After your success you can't use that fleet for even once. Makes a lot of sense to me...
Nobody told him iokath is a capital 'i' not a lower case 'L'. xD Also slight correction on the timescales, Vitiate abandons the empire 3 centuries prior to the hero of tython when he introduces the system of the emperor's voice and cases acting in person, which Marr refers to as the "great silence across our history" as the emperor's voice rarely deigned to be involved with governing as he had before, instead merely commanding his cults to continue the various rituals he had going that would destroy the empire along with the galaxy. On the shakier side of it, Vitiate himself suggests that he didn't actually control Valkorion at first, instead helped and empowered him to defeat the machine gods, playing the insidious benefactor like he does for the outlander/commander, before eventually betraying and dominating him, after bringing Valkorion to agree with his way of thinking. Perhaps he was doing that to minimise the risk of having his consciousness resisted, since this was how both he and Darth Bane were defeated.
its not lokath, but iokath, just a little misspelling but was hurting my head :D, and vitiate helped outlander to win against his siblings and tried to posses him, dying in the process.

tech has peaked in this galaxy man. hyperspace is old news to this galaxy lol. sure, models change with style of year to year but a droid is still a droid. batteries only get so good, the universe still has laws even if theres stark differences to ours (liike the force and light speed drives)

Then it wouldn’t feel like star wars at all. Why not make a new franchise at this point?
star wars cant be R. star wars exists because Lucas was a smart man and kept toy sales flowing for starw wars knowing the money it could make. a star wars movies needs to sell toys to kids man, cause rated R cant have toys sold and adults dont buy as much as the millions of kids complaining they want that toy
The only people I know who still buy star wars toys are adults
Why does everything have to rated R?

Oh my god they sound so cool. Like the coolest faction in star wars.
The Eternal Empire = the only faction in Star wars that could unite the entire galaxy and create peace. There can't be everlasting war between jedi and sith, if both are vanquished.
Indeed Eternal Empire should rule the galaxy. 💯

Yeah He was nice. But it was a mistake of valkorion trusting outlander

Seriously at this point it should be a super villain rule to never put the word eternal or forever in the name of their organization/government

It can be played by any class, but Bioware only using the jedi knight, aka The Hero Of Tython, aka Solid Snake in their story trailers, so he is the canonical Outlander.

*”YOUR CARBONITE TOMB AWAITS!!”*
*"JUSTICE FOR VALKORION!"*
Their fleet was epic.
@saber 1616 Yeah playerbase threw tantrum over change to their Republic vs Empire scenario and they scrapped entire expansion of Zakuul for that and eventually ended Eternal Fleet in rather very boring way.
I’am the Dragon of Zakuul, I’am GOD.
And I pray to God Disney never touches anything from.the old republic it was perfect in Legends
Wasn’t the planet called Iokath, with an “i”, and not Lokath? Or did my ears stop working around 3.04?
It was, this bugged me too.
Coolest Faction ever of that period.

The Eternal Empire shall live Eternal within my heart >:)))

Just bc EU is not canon doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. It’s still part of the Star Wars Universe and lore.
As an alterative i consider all the disney movies shitty fan fiction. EU and Legends are whats canon in my heart.
@@theblueneko677 But even if you consider only the 6 Lucas' films, I think it's weird that the technology and general state of the Galaxy stays pretty much the same in almost 4000 years.

[Spoilers]
Of those who played SWTOR, something that confused me with the intro mission to KotFE was how small the Coalition fleet was.
We seriously need an Empire at War mod based on The Old Republic with the Eternal Empire as one of the playable factions.
i remeber those day good time good times .

Crazy that a hidden empire could be in the unknown region the whole time
Hahaja holy shit that's my footage at 5:05 , I love that!
Nobody told him iokath is a capital 'i' not a lower case 'L'. xD
Also slight correction on the timescales, Vitiate abandons the empire 3 centuries prior to the hero of tython when he introduces the system of the emperor's voice and cases acting in person, which Marr refers to as the "great silence across our history" as the emperor's voice rarely deigned to be involved with governing as he had before, instead merely commanding his cults to continue the various rituals he had going that would destroy the empire along with the galaxy.
