Flood is M/PG16. 343i have clearly turned to T/PG12 games. They removed the gore aspect (flood) with Halo 4. They removed most of the blood and violent animations in 5 onward. Why ? I have no idea, there are more Halo fans in their 40s now than there are Halo fans under 18, nobody in the newer audience cares about Halo now, and yet they think watering it down for childrens is the way to go...

I Joined the 'project contingency' dev team a long time ago and did some graphic design work for them and let me tell you I know first hand how difficult co-ordinating work efforts can be. You guys are keeping that childhood wonder alive for all of us. Halo rests solely in the hands of true fans like yourselves.

I gotta tell ya, from what we've seen (we are only seeing the probably less resource-consuming 'glitter roll' it has to be said) it looks terrific and i'm excited to see some classical horror lighting for doing battle with the Flood! I recently saw gameplay footage of a 'horde' shooting game where the horde of aliens had nice pathfinding and rolled over/around terrain making them seem like a dark tide of destruction flooding down onto the players who, despite desperately firing heavy weapons, were only barely holding the line. I hope this Halo: BS title does something similar or maybe even a bit like "The Library" on Legendary where you find a briefly defencable spot to fire/throw nades/ before being forced to advance or briefly retreat. I hope they have some way of traversing the area to change your position quickly or maybe blowing up obstacles to barricade the enemies or make them go around it so you can attack from a different angle. There's a lot of potential there

This might be a weird equipment choice but I think the quantum translocator could be fun in this game, it could also be used for possible puzzles in the game too.
Microsoft is gonna be hot as hell when this releases. They could’ve been making bank off spinoffs like this for a decade now. The fact that it’s being made by such a small team too. Like Microsoft really could’ve had just a handful of people working on something like this on the side and it wouldn’t have slowed down the main games at all. It’s just so strange how averse they are to side projects with this IP. Whatever. We’ve all heard this shit a million times. This game looks fantastic. Really looks like the kind of spinoff that Bungie would’ve put out if they kept the IP and the old devs didn’t all leave the company. Gameplay-wise it sounds like what they originally intended for ODST, but in the standalone Flood horror experience we’ve been wanting for 20 years, killing two birds with one stone. I would be interested to see this kind of grounded gameplay against the Covenant or Banished. I’m sure the devs will be wanting to experiment a little with that once they finish the Flood game, and I can’t wait to see it.
I've always said Doom 3 was a terrible Doom game BUT the environment and gameplay style... (replacing only the doom gun wheel with a halo 2 gun system swapping guns on the floor)... made for a perfect rookie Halo marine horror game trying to survive the flood
@@Wuunderboy I bought it way back in the day when it came out. Definitely a different type Doom but I enjoyed it non the less. The environment was awesome though. Dark, spooky. I hated the flashlight system though. Your'e right though, swap out demons for the flood and that was be a wild ride!
the "Boom!" written on the mine is very nice - it shows the classic UNSC marine's attitude of Halo 1-3, which were heavily inspired by Ridley Scott's Aliens' marines (who were heavily inspired by the conscripted Americans in the Vietnam war)
2:26 If the devs are reading this, and if I may suggest something regarding customization. Make it like Space Marine 2. Space Marine 2 lets you color each armor segment individually however you like more or less, which ironically is what I thought Halo Infinite would have originally, given how coatings looked. I think this would be a great way to actually improve on customization. Making the game fun should always be a priority tho, so I would understand if the above suggestion is off the table for now, but just some food for thought.

I've legitimately been talking about a flood based horror game with a pve co-op mode but also a pvp modes unlocked through the campaign experience fir a few years talking about it with different people. This is exaxtly the type of stuff I've been wanting to see. My idea might go much heavier into the horror aspect.
All I want is a left 4 dead style game with the flood set in the literal final days of the forerunner-flood war. Like the last cutscene is the firing of the rings.

This game looks fantastic. Really looks like the kind of spinoff that Bungie would’ve put out if they kept the IP and the old devs didn’t all leave the company. Gameplay-wise it sounds like what they originally intended for ODST, but in the standalone Flood horror experience we’ve been wanting for 20 years, killing two birds with one stone.
I would be interested to see this kind of grounded gameplay against the Covenant or Banished. I’m sure the devs will be wanting to experiment a little with that once they finish the Flood game, and I can’t wait to see it.

I've always said Doom 3 was a terrible Doom game BUT the environment and gameplay style... (replacing only the doom gun wheel with a halo 2 gun system swapping guns on the floor)...

@@Wuunderboy I bought it way back in the day when it came out. Definitely a different type Doom but I enjoyed it non the less. The environment was awesome though. Dark, spooky. I hated the flashlight system though. Your'e right though, swap out demons for the flood and that was be a wild ride!
the "Boom!" written on the mine is very nice - it shows the classic UNSC marine's attitude of Halo 1-3, which were heavily inspired by Ridley Scott's Aliens' marines (who were heavily inspired by the conscripted Americans in the Vietnam war)

2:26 If the devs are reading this, and if I may suggest something regarding customization. Make it like Space Marine 2. Space Marine 2 lets you color each armor segment individually however you like more or less, which ironically is what I thought Halo Infinite would have originally, given how coatings looked.
I think this would be a great way to actually improve on customization. Making the game fun should always be a priority tho, so I would understand if the above suggestion is off the table for now, but just some food for thought.
I love the fact that fans care more about the game than 343.

I've legitimately been talking about a flood based horror game with a pve co-op mode but also a pvp modes unlocked through the campaign experience fir a few years talking about it with different people. This is exaxtly the type of stuff I've been wanting to see.
My idea might go much heavier into the horror aspect.

All I want is a left 4 dead style game with the flood set in the literal final days of the forerunner-flood war. Like the last cutscene is the firing of the rings.

I hope we can hear radio chatter from others. Even ODSTs and a Spartan, would love to see that a ship gets attacked being filled with the flood and we use the drop pod.

"Firefly Online" is an excellent example of a game that could have been truly epic that was killed in the cradle.
