I think you're right about how Jod's adapted the Jedi lessons to survive; particularly the lack of attachments, the way he's willing to turn on the kids feels like that lesson taken to the extreme (which isn't surprising if he's lived most of his life amongst pirates where no one can be trusted).
I always like the idea that the Jedi’s teachings of no attachments was equally likely to turn somebody dark/gray as being overly attached. It was just less perceptible by the masters because they sense emotions, and less attached turns people inward, rather than outward when it comes to expression. That’s obviously not what George Lucas originally envisioned, but it does map onto real psychology.
Jude Law has been amazing in this show! I was totally wrong where I expected Jod to become the father figure and be the “I’m a Jedi good guy” trope! It’s kinda refreshing to see a straight up pirate! I want to hate him but he’s so cool
I also like that hes not "evil" like he could have destroyed sm-33s head (which is typically the killshot for droids memory wise), he could have done worse than sorta shoving the rat aside and he at this point could easily have killed the kids. pretty sure hes comes from a good foundation but has just spent his life as a pirate and embraced it.
The fact that all of the people were confused and not knowing ommediately to leave the landing platform indicates no Emissary has come for a very long time. This seems very much a fully automated system identifying a Emissary when a Mint ship arrives.
Wouldn’t it be something if all the Emissaries are dead and At Attin has just been following protocol for years, making credits that no one has or was ever going to pick up?
It would make sense that when the Empire took over, they didn't even know who the Emissaries were or didn't care as they just phased out the currency for Imperial credits, and because everything is so automated, At Attin just kept going (and citizens were basically out of the loop so they didn't ever notice)

Me and my friends realized that the two names we know Jude Law’s character as are “Jod” and “Silvo”. Put them together we get Jod Silvo, as in “Long John Silver” from Treasure Island
The Supervisor sounded like a pre recording so I think the only reveal with him will be that he's long dead. Who he is may be the old pirate captain but either way he would be dead, maybe for centuries if this is truly the OLD republic. The landing and security droids are fully automated and treated the landing as if they were not just dealing with a security issue, something a living supervisor would likely not have done.
The scene with Jod and the kids on the ship absolutely broke me. But what a great episode! Hoping we get some backstory on Jod next week as we wrap things up.
Jod has been so GOOD as the antagonist!!! I did not expect him to just shoot Brutus in the head like that. Also I did want him to use the lightsaber, but not on SM-33 😭. I know he will probably get repaired though
The ship was stolen but most likely from somewhere off of At-Attin. One that had made a delivery from At-Attin. Renard put armor on it to fly in and planned to shed the armor during the escape with the loot. However, as 33 tells the children, greed & mutiny led to the ship crashing on At-Attin during the inbound flight.
Jod strikes me as someone like Wim - he had stories about Jedi and pirates and is self taught in the force and joined pirates, but is also Peter Pan like and never really grew up.
Wim has a father, a home and friends. He's also not selfish and cares about his friends. Jod around the same age was probably on his own, scavenging for food or part of a pirate crew. Jod has no loyalty, is charismatic and is greedy because he needed to be that way to survive. The environment they both grew up in forged their personalities. They're very different to me. Jod's annoyance with these kids stems from seeing them have a good and easy life while he had nothing and no one.
It the Emissaries were killed or imprisoned when the Republic fell, this ship was probably just gathering dust somewhere until Rennod stole it. I don't think he did it while the Republic was still up and running.
I think when Jude Law was shown the show they presented it without breaks, so he wasn’t sure which episode it was. He even said in the episode “I THINK it was episode 7” so he went sure which episode it was. He could have gotten it wrong.

Supervisor is not Tak Rennod. We heard Tak Rennods voice in the log in his base. And the supervisors voice in this episode and they were defiantly not the same voice.
The Supervisor definitely sounds like Stephen Fry. My guess is that he's an AI/droid and keeps At Attin shut off from the rest of the galaxy because Tak Rennod got in and almost successfully stole from the mint. I suspect the captain died shortly after making it there.

I also don't think we will get any kind of flashback for Jod, there simply isn't enough time anymore and other parts of the story that are more important. I do however hope we will get a bit more Backstory since right now what I think is most likely is that Jod was a Youngling. He clearly has quite a bit of control over using the Cosmic Force to move stuff (which I believe is the first thing you learned as a Youngling in the order) but he has obviously very little experience using a lightsaber as we can clearly see in this episode. That would also make sense because more advanced training only happens once you are a Padawan (and have build your own lightsaber)
Well, we did first met Jod as a Pirate. I wish the fandom had this kind of outrage when Hondo tried to rob those Padawans, season 5, of their kyber crystals or trying to sell off Ahsoka.

I think people are misinterpreting Jod's motivations. Yes, he's definitely greedy, but if you look at the way the series open, Jod's not the most respected pirate. He was likely searching for At Attin and the treasure for validation. Everything about his response to finding the mint was him finally saying, "I was right!" I think Jod's final dilemma is going to be a choice between the gold (sacrificing any good will he had left) or doing something more heroic and losing everything he'd searched for in the process.
I would rather Jod be a padawan that had to survive and fully became a pirate. That speech to the kids, calling them weak, spoiled, sheltered, this was a two fold meaning. It criticized the kids who had the safety to be children compared to his young life and also aimed at Jod’s younger self.
Wonder if the Jedi Ninaa Nawood will show up as a flashback. She was on the cast list on IDMB for a while, which disappeared weeks ago, then reappeared, then disappeared again. Could that have been a misdirect? What if he was an apprentice of Dooku? It could explain his questionable morals. I can imagine that he was a disaffected apprentice who left on his own or got kicked out before order 66.
To be fair to him, Brutus just wanted to be a good pirate who didn't waste the crew's lives on Silvo's crazy treasure goose chases. He never even threatened to kill the kids, just put them in the brig.

Silvo happily let them escape with that information, he didnt care about the safety of the pirates and other fringe types that live there. Brutus was a far better captain.
He mentioned having a bad headache when he told the kids to shut up which may indicate a mental illness and explain the changes in mannerisms. Just food for thought….
I have absolutely no clue who the supervisor is. What would be amusing if it turns out to be a droid just like SM33, but don't think we've had any clues on who that role is filled by.
I am 100% sure Jod will end up closed alone inside a vault with treasure as punishment while story about him will be told to pirates as a warning to never come to At Attin. I am also sure that Tak Rennod is still Supervisor and he will come and Force Push Jod into that vault (because Tak was once real Jedi) When Tak Rennod arrived at At Attin he killed Supervisor only to realize that planet is full of people that would die from pirates like him if he wouldn't took up mantle of Supervisor.
Why would the blood thirsty and dreaded Tac Rennod have such a change of heart? Why would he care if the people of At Attin where killed by pirates? That doesn't make any sense

I'm not sure what Jod's plan was to get *off* of At Attin?? I mean both the kids and the parents now know he isn't an official Republic emissary. How does he think he's going to get off the planet with all the security droids around and the ship automatically secured? Can't wait until next week to see how it's all resolved.

I know it doesn't work like this, but I would love the light saber to turn red. Not because He is a sith, but he is purely out for his own survival. Idk. I just want it to happen in live action.
He would have to bleed it... usually “neutral” saber wielders use shades of yellow or orange. Jod is not a red saber guy. He’s a no saber guy, he’s just using it as a means to an end. The way he’s whooshing it around seems like he’s possibly seen other force users wield sabers but never held one himself. When he was swinging it above the kids, he looked like the boys playing Jedi in the first episode. Jod isn’t a Jedi, but he’s more than just “force sensitive”, it would be awesome to see a new type of force user that is just as talented with the force as a Jedi. Jedi don’t hold power over the force as it is the force that allows you access, which means just being a Jedi doesn’t make you more powerful than a naturally gifted user of the force.
He can’t bleed the crystal, he doesn’t tap into the dark side at all. He’s not using the force out of anger or passion or fear, just simple practicality.

I'm not sure what Jod's plan was to get *off* of At Attin?? I mean both the kids and the parents now know he isn't an official Republic emissary. How does he think he's going to get off the planet with all the security droids around and the ship automatically secured? Can't wait until next week to see how it's all resolved.

I know it doesn't work like this, but I would love the light saber to turn red. Not because He is a sith, but he is purely out for his own survival. Idk. I just want it to happen in live action.

Jod is not a red saber guy.
He’s a no saber guy, he’s just using it as a means to an end. The way he’s whooshing it around seems like he’s possibly seen other force users wield sabers but never held one himself.
When he was swinging it above the kids, he looked like the boys playing Jedi in the first episode.
Jod isn’t a Jedi, but he’s more than just “force sensitive”, it would be awesome to see a new type of force user that is just as talented with the force as a Jedi.
Jedi don’t hold power over the force as it is the force that allows you access, which means just being a Jedi doesn’t make you more powerful than a naturally gifted user of the force.

He can’t bleed the crystal, he doesn’t tap into the dark side at all. He’s not using the force out of anger or passion or fear, just simple practicality.
