    I have been wanting to give a shout out to Module Repair Pro located at 5911 Lemona Ave, Van Nuys, CA (818)235-1095. They are one of only five businesses like it in the entire USA; and, we're blessed to have a company like them in our local area. Module Repair Pro fixed my ABS Control Module on my 5.9 ZJ; which, is extremely rare and nearly impossible to replace. There are 10 year old vehicles with irreplaceable modules that are just being junked and scrapped; and, it can be avoided if people knew about Module Repair Pros. I highly encourage Garage Couple to check them out and maybe even feature them in a video someday.

    oh damn that's crazy someone trying to get into the TJ!! Good move on the fence. I setup some wifi security cams in my driveway pointed at the Jeep and my wife's car, they seem to have deterred people for the past 5 years or so, and they send me snapshots via email when they detect motion. I have a Ring doorbell too, but the front door unfortunately doesn't overlook the driveway.

    • @Garagecouple
      @Garagecouple  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh wow! We have 4 front facing cameras but it didn't deter anyone. The gate has been amazing!

    • @vgullotta
      @vgullotta 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Garagecouple Wow 4 cameras and they just ignored them??? That's insane, was the person high or crazy? lol. Are your cameras pretty easily visible? I made sure you can't miss mine, they are mounted to the front of the house just above the garage doors and they each have an LED on them that blinks red when it starts detecting motion, so at night, it's pretty obvious that the cameras are working and recording.

    • @Garagecouple
      @Garagecouple  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people are just bad thiefs..glad that was our case though. We feel a bunch more secure with a 6 foot tall perimeter gate! Our cameras are all very subtle :)

  • @dwizl7213
    @dwizl7213 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Spicer sealed joints are stronger than greasable. The hollow channel that runs through the joint from zerk compromises it.
    Unless you run deep soupy mud trails regularly then sealed is the way to go. Driveshafts aren't like control arms where the joints need to be greased on a regular basis.

    • @Garagecouple
      @Garagecouple  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Makes sense! Thanks for the suggestion!

    • @PhatboyHD88
      @PhatboyHD88 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep i have the new Spicer lifetime joints in my Jeep ,, stronger and supposed to last forever . You can tell they are the new style by the cap seal on each of the caps. The new lifetime ones are “White” and if you are putting them in a jeep use the “cooper” c clips to lock them in place , they are the proper thickness to give the proper end play for Jeeps..

    Just some fyi , those strap bolts have a torque spec and i highly highly recommend you torque them down or they have and can come loose which can cause a catastrophic failure and lots of damage.. i would tell you what the spec is but my jeep has the newer CV joints on it instead of U-Joints , however my 8 bolts all get torqued to 22 ft lbs.. your strap style will be much more i would say approx 50ft lbs .. anyway torque them bolts save a head ache later..

    Tom Woods are great driveshafts - I've tried to have 'custom' ones made locally that cost a LOT more and are not as good as the Tom Woods.
    I've actually had two people get into my TJ over the time I've owned it. Once I literally caught them sitting in it while going for lunch at work (I scared him pretty good!) and another time overnight (I had about $2 stolen out of the ash tray, haha!).
    Also a little tip for putting the driveshaft back in - instead of having someone hold the front end - pop it into the diff yoke (no need to bolt it in - it will often hold itself in place). Do the bolts you can reach on the back, pop it back out of the front yoke, turn the driveshaft to where you can reach the other bolts and pop the front end back into the diff yoke. I've had to do it enough times, I have learned this is far easier than finding 'help,' haha!
