Also, with 2 winches on a side, you don't need to cross-sheet. And if you are on something like a J/24. 1 winch per side, you are already cross-sheeted - it's standard on that boat, so yo end up not cross-sheeting (unless you are going to peel on a tack.)
Maybe just personal preference but I like to put the changing sheet on the old sail and then transfer both existing sheets to the new sail before it goes up.
I figure that is best. Here's why. with the old sail, the trimmer already knows where it needs to be trimmed. The new sail will take some adjustments, Jib Car, tensions, etc. Putting the temporary sheet on the old sail frees up the actual sheets to go on the new sail & be ready for working adjustments immediatly as soon as it is up. Unless, of course, you have a full-length sheet for the changing sheet.

Tack change, you do not need a changing sheet. You can just use the lazy sheet. Another reason not to use one soft shackle per set of sheets.

Their setup makes that really hard. In the "good old days", a jib clew was a metal ring that was not covered up with a Velcro flap.

Great video. You are an excellent teacher. Your buoy racing setup on those jib clews and jib sheets is a bit of a nightmare
