Hey Watchers! Steven here, and we've come to the pilot season finale of Homemade. We covered dumplings with a mother, tamales from a grandmother, and a pho recipe that was passed down to an immigrant's son. It was very intentional to feature people from all walks of life and showcase how food gets passed down generationally. Big shoutout to the Homemade team because I often get way too much credit - Tony, Brittney, the editors, production staff, the restaurants, family members, Ryan & Shane, and our sponsors.
That being said - I hope we can bring this show back with a season two! But it pains me to say that I don't know when that will happen given the pandemic. At the very least I hope this show has inspired you in some way to stay connected with your family and cook a little bit more.
    -Steven

Good stuff man !!! i'm a chef as well, and seeing this series makes very happy, in that cooking should be passed down generations to generations. yeah, i understand the convenience of getting fast food, or going to you're favorite restaurant, and order delivery. but cooking is more then just making a meal to eat, it's the time spent together in the kitchen, slowing down the day, and enjoying the company you're with. Every episode in this series is proof

When your friend started talking about growing up poor but feeling fulfilled by the food their mom made I felt that. I grew up dirt poor, like no electricity sometimes and having to boil water for baths kinda poor, but we ate SO well. My mom could make anything out of nothing.
I had a beautiful moment a few years ago at this fancy restaurant, after taking my first bite of their potato leek soup I just started crying because it reminded me so much of my mom's version and the years of comfort it gave me.
Its really beautiful how much food can connect us to our past and the love we've had and watching people experience that on a generational scale has been so heartwarming. I really cherish this show.

Such a beautiful show to come back to over and over again. I hope that once safe to make, we can have more seasons! Also I’m still in awe by how much work goes into the food. As someone who didn’t get much home cooking and struggles on where to get started on my own, it’s been a treat to see how other cultures handle food/meals.

I loved this :) These dishes are all so wonderful, and I love seeing the behind-the-scenes of what goes into making them! And of course, the people behind the food put so much care into it all and it's great to see their stories unfold with the food.

I loved the video, I always enjoy learning about the food and traditions of other cultures. I was wondering if you could one day do an episode on a polish dish (rosoł, pierogi, pączki) I have never really seen polish food or culture be talked about in the US and it would be really amazing to see it talked about on a major and known youtube channel.

These videos make me miss my grandma’s cooking so much! Unfortunately she isn’t able to cook anymore but one of her specialties was andagi; Okinawan fried donuts. I’ve tried to make them myself but I still can’t get the technique down of dropping balls of the dough into the oil by hand only. She also used poi sometimes which made them even better!
