    I got one and simply cannot stop driving it. It is an addiction. The E92 E28i is truly the last of Mohicans, the last pure driver’s car, devoid of electronic aids, turbos, electronic steering, and flappy paddle gear boxes. A reminder of when BMW gave their base models the true BMW treatment. It is a rather historical vehicle as well, as this is the last ever 3 Series to feature BMW’s signature naturally aspirated inline 6 motor, as it went out production following the discontinuation of the E92 chassis. The E92 328i is the single best car for the money hands down, no questions asked. Anyone who disagrees simply has not done their due diligence. In no other modern vehicle for an equivalent price do you get a naturally aspirated inline 6 which loves to rev, hydraulic steering with wonderfully tactile feedback, rear wheel drive which truly connects you to the road, and most importantly, a six speed manual with fabulous feel! This will undoubtedly be a future classic, as it is essentially a modern interpretation of a pure and simple driver’s car. Best to get one without the optional iDrive infotainment system, as it is not only unsightly, but entirely obsolete, outclassed by virtually any given smartphone. In order of importance, I recommend upgrading your tires, air filter, and exhaust. A short shifter kit will be the icing on the cake. From one E92 328i guy to another, happy driving!

      @@JDuna I bought my 2011 BMW 328i coupe with 90k miles back in January 2020. I replaced all fluids (oil, coolant, differential and transmission fluids). I replaced the oil and valve cover gasket. The only breakdown I had was my starter. Please keep in mind it was original from factory I think. Other than that, not one issue. The car isn’t fast, but the driving pleasure is very high; I plan to mod it out, add the 3 stage and eventually a supercharger. Lots of people will persuaded you to get a 335i, but me I’m more concerned with reliability. The car is gem and what BMW was really about; the ultimate driving experience. Newer cars feel soulless to me; I do not know why. Also, the design is ageless. The car is 11 years old and you look at it, still a beauty.

    i know i am 3 years late but got a 2010 328i coupe with 166,000 miles in 2020. It now has 379,000 miles. Oil changes, brakes once, coils and plugs and that is it. Never broke down. I have driven it hard and fast from day one and it never disappoints. Handles and drives amazing. Kinda quick and so fun to drive. Looking for a second one with low miles now to replace this one IF this one ever dies. Unbelievable car for the price.

    I bought a 2011 328i back in late 2019. alpine white with coral red interior. 48k miles, AWD and I paid $15,000. after just over 2 years of driving and 8k miles, i've only had to do an oil change and replace 2 ignition coils. these are certainly beautiful cars and in my opinion are the golden area for reliability, luxury, and price.

    I leased a new 2007 E92 and turned it in after in 3 blissful years. Big mistake. I later bought an F30 335 which felt mushy and too big for a 3 series. I recently picked up a 2010 E92 with 54,000 miles in mint condition and I absolutely love it, despite no camera, bluetooth, nav, etc. The smooth inline 6 is like fine music, and the firm hydraulic steering is classic BMW. The clean uncluttered styling is BMW's best ever.

    In late 2006 I took one for a test drive and immediately fell in love with the steering feel and wonderful connectedness that defines this car. The inline naturally aspirated six is silky smooth. I ordered an E92 that looks exactly like the one in this video except for grey leather interior. After almost 16 years and 148,000 miles, I still love this car. Every time I get in the car and start the ignition and start to drive, the magic feeling returns.

I installed the Dinan Cat-back exhaust system and opened the intake with K&N Filter. I bought it with 29K miles, but it now has 104K miles per smiles. The only problems I immediately had after purchase was a leaking valve cover gasket and Oil filter housing gasket, and pressure control valve leak. Light and 240hp makes it a luxurious go-kart.

Monaco blue with tan (Dakota) sport seats, cross-spoke wheels, black Alcantera suede headliner, shift boot and a-pillars. Garage kept, sweet and smooth. A true driver's car. Put in all 6 ignition coils, new oil cap with O ring, filter, cabin air filter, new Bosch platinum plugs, semi synthetic Castrol oil, a high performance K&N oil free air filter, all bolt on bolt off easiest tune up on a newer vehicle I've ever done. All for $275 myself bought all on Ebay. However I did have to get both fuel pumps replaced because they were cracking. Easy install though under the rear seats. That was $585 total for both pumps.

I’ve done the valve cover twice. First time was b/c I bought Chinese parts, ALWAYS buy oem eccentric shaft sensor, belts ,oil filter housing gaskets and components, I did the water pump and thermostat, all my brakes including parking brakes from drum to pads the other day.installed an eonon radio and learning how to mess the electrical stuff for the rear view camera. This is what I tell my friend if u want the328, the 335 or m3. Currently own and drive a 2012 328i E92, commuting about 100 miles daily and I’m at 135,000 miles. I’m about to hit 5 years of ownership and I absolutely love it. Besides a head gasket and cylinder cover replacement, keep an eye out on your oil filter housing gasket. They are prone to leak! Also, your oil pan gasket will most likely be pretty worn at your mileage. As far as your water pump,you should be fine given it’s a later model E92. I believe the 2007-2010 E92s and E9x overall had the issues with water pumps and till this day, I haven’t had to change it.

    Got the same in black without idrive though :(
    Bought it new when I moved to Austin 9 years ago and I hear you on all 10 points! I recommend swapping the speakers and woofers - I did from Bavsound and big improvement.
    Has your suspension had parts replaced? Mine is holding up at 60k plus but curious as you mentioned how good it feels

    • @CarMikeReviews
      @CarMikeReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like iDrive but it’s defiantly outdated to most of the cars I review. I hadn’t thought about the sound system. I’ll check out that Bavsound. Who did you buy them from? As far as the suspension. As far as I know... it only had a suspension refresh (bushings and mounts) installed.... and fresh Tires.

    • @kregnice
      @kregnice 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarMikeReviews I bought them directly from Bavsound. I got the speakers and under seat ghost woofers. My car did not come with tweeters so it was a bit less expensive. That being said the upgrade is better with the tweeters and woofers powered by amp (u have an amp I believe).
      For some reason bmw removed the tweeters and amp temporarily for early 2011 models. Prob to cut costs but they quickly reintroduced as standard.

    i live in south texas! I own a 328i 09 except standard. I got mine for 4k trying to change the game as in buy cheap. Love 3 series all day!I only have a straight pipe exhaust. im going to do more motor work but the FMR moudle gose out alot on our models, messes with the headlights, cluster, and much more. mine was bad due to bad windshield seals . front windshield seals were bad so i had to swap them then saw water leaking into my car on the fmr module at the footwell . but i only have 153k miles and my car still drives like new.

    Have exact same car with 80K except wood grain and grey interior. Did Struts and shocks, brakes, VC and OFH gaskets. All fluids. Added gloss black grills to match the trim and painted tail pipe same. Have an intermittent whing that bugs the hell out of me from somewhere in engine that I cant find. Heater vents blow cold on passanger side. Will do the heater cire flush sometime. Oil pan also has small drip. Have a 2009 Honda Accord V6 coupe with manual trans 160K. Not one freaking leak anywhere. But prefer driving the 92

    Don't do a muffler depete unless you plan on doing a resonator delete as well just the muffler delete sounds like just the muffler delete and its sounds cheesy ricy and not fast, yeah you can hear a little bit more of the motor but if you want the quality sounds and backfires get rid of the resonator as well its worth it

    My husband had 2011 328i E 92 which he really really loved it. However there has been engine starting problem when it's cold ( of course it works after trying to 5 times or more eventually.) He brought it to one of the BMW dealers to solve the problem more than 3rd times and spent lots of money including changing the battery. Unfortunately they(the dealer) could not find what was wrong with it. Therefore we decided to sell it and recently sold it with explanation to our buyer about the problem. But we are missing our BMW already.

    Purchased 08 328i E92 love it ... despite the usual rumors of it being a money Pitt ... I decided to see for myself ... did some small mods like blackout headlights, spoiler, blacked out side markers & indicators... changing out all suspension to stay ahead ... I use the fixd App & device to give me a reliable maintenance schedule... although it was purchased with only 1 owner with only 81k miles ... so far an awesome machine... only 1month in ...

      Biggest tip I would say is if they didn’t do the maintenance or can’t produce maintenance records ... I wouldn’t buy it. Especially with a Beemer. You can also get it checked out by a local mechanic before buying. It’ll cost you 100-200 bucks but would be well worth it. Don’t let you’re excitement of having the new car cloud your judgment.
