Reading the Karen Traviss books gave me a new love for so many characters. I love Dom, Hoffman, Cole, Bernie, Anya, all these characters so much more now. Dom especially. I'll always love Benjamin Carmine the most though and I wish there was something which explored just a bit more of his character. Bernie is definitely the greatest woman in Gears Of War, and perhaps a great example in most fiction. Especially as of late.
True, but we all first got hooked in by General Raam’s sheer badassry and that stinger ending with Skorge on his Hydra, who then properly introduces himself and saws a fucking tank in half.

It worked in halo 2 because Arbiter, and the rest of the Elites, were coming to see the truth of the Covenant lies and would turn into your allies by the end of the game. Meanwhile, RAAM and the rest of the Locust aren't fighting for ideals like the Covenant were, they're fighting for survival just as the Serans are, they can't coexist with each other, and the Locust would fight humanity and all until the last one.
If you had to have an honorable mention, it would have to be Hoffman. After all, he's featured in many of these clips. He was my main for a while. Honestly I think we all go through phases of our favorites though. For me they were Marcus, Dom, the Hof, Barrick, Bernie, Clayton. I love Myrrah, but I think everyone got sick of her voice in GOW3 lol. Plus the dumb hitbox advantage.
Ohhh shit, I cheered so hard when I saw Alex at #2 And that was bold of you to put her so up in the list but now that I think of I would place her even on a top 5 as minimal. I always loved her since I read Barren and still pisses me off to this day that she wasn't involved in Raam's Shadow, nor added as an additional DLC character for Gears 3 (In spite I do like Judgement, that multiplayer feels really empty so she didn't shined as she should). If we ever have another Gears prequel, I hope she is included in a campaign as well as multiplayer, one can still hope!

I'm starting to read the books just now, I have been playing Gears of War since the release of the second entry and reading the books give me so many new layers of apreciation for the characters. I'm loving it and can't wait to see an announcement of Gears of War Marcus Fenix Collection so we can all go back and play OG Gears of War 2 horde, Gears of War 3 TDM and Gears of War 1 excellents multiplayer maps
Personally, my favorite has always been and always will be Clay Carmine. Dude just oozes badassery on par with Marcus and Cole, and his unique design is and character is so cool that he's always my go-to skin for multiplayer. He's also interesting as a character as well, considering he has to cope with the loss of his family while still surviving the impossible and fighting the good fight.

There's so much I can about the video for starters I loved the clips that you used for each of the characters, brings back a lot of memories. Marcus cussing out Aaron Griffin more specifically. I love the mix of characters from the game and characters from the comics being mentioned, hopefully someday they will have their debut in games, hell even a cameo would be nice. And I love the fact that Baird made it to the list, personally he's top 5 for me.

It’s funny. Most people think Gears of War is nothing but overly buff macho men who run the world they’re in, but there are a good amount of strong women in it. Like, why do they think Kait is the first? Anya, Bernie, Helena, and Alex are highly respected in the story of Gears, each who faced great trials and personal trauma’s, overcame them and became BEASTS in a world most may see as a man’s world. Not to mention, they are way better female characters than Kait. It just proves, you can have awesome females in any kind of media and they be accepted, just so long as they are well written and have something an audience can relate to or latch on to in some way or form. They don’t have to be...well, Kaits.
